I have an epson V500, and I use epson scan software. I want to scan a 3.25 inch x 4 inch b/w film positive. The film positive is in a glass frame. Is there a way to scan that size, and if so how do you select the size to scan. Whenever I try to scan, it scans parts of the film in sections, like it's trying to scan smaller sized film. Do you know where I change the setting to scan odd-sized film? Thanks.
question for you. I am new to scanning so forgive me. I had an artist draw me a picture/sketch in an 8x10 size. It is a basic drawing of a baseball player done in color pencil. Can I scan the 8x10 to where I can later enlarge it to a poster in around a 18x24 size? Does a scanner allow me to scan an 8x10 in high quality so I can later print it out into poster size without much quality loss?
do i need some ink to scan ??!!

600 dpi is total overkill.... 300dpi is the highest I would go.
