  • Hi. Should I get head or combo? Any suggestions? Thanks

  • @vooooooooooho I'd say head and cabinet, since this video, I traded for a head and cabinet. Much less rattly at higher volumes, and a closed back cabinet adds a heck of a lot of punch!

  • @AdamDallas So the famous JVM roar is still there? Any suggestions for the speakers? :)

  • @vooooooooooho The roar is definitely still there! If you're looking a slightly scooped, aggressive sound, check out Celestion G12T-75 speakers, but for a more growly open sound, check out V30's. V30's would be my choice!

  • es ist mein teil!!

  • nice sound dude, does it hold it's tone when it's cranked up?, i've just got one of these and im still trying to get to grasp with it :)

  • Any pedals? If not than I'm highly impressed.

  • @szs88 No pedals on this one!

  • What gibson do you have? Im looking for a not to expensive gibson, les paul model cz im going to put other humbuckers in anyways :P

  • @123italiano321 It isn't even a Gibson :) It's a Tokai, they're Japanese replicas of Gibsons which are held in pretty high regard!

  • @AdamDallas really? :O i couldnt hear a diffrence rly :P what humbuckers are in it? I now have a Fender Squier but it sounds really nice xD my guitarteacher says it sounds almost as good as an thousand dollar + gibson xD

  • The Overdrive channels rock in this amp :P

  • Tip, don't lay your guitars head on the bed, it'll nock it out of tuning. keep rockin \m/

  • Empty stage LOL

  • Rammstein kicks ass. Keep playing

  • are these amps good to play guns n roses stuff on?

  • @Onslaught9653 This amp can play almost ANYTHING!

  • Gibson+Marshall=magick

  • @topografer its not a gibson :P its a tokai loverock ;)

  • i heard My Curse in there. liking killswitch

  • @likoku It's not really anyone's lick, it's just improvising, but it's just going up a blues scale. Notes would be 10-12-13 on the G string, then 12th fret on the B string, then just back down. I'm tuned down to D though

  • @AdamDallas Is this amp better than TSL122. Is the JVM series Marshall's best? HELP PLEASE!! Thank you!!

  • @DANTE4891 Hey man,

From my experience I vastly prefer the JVM over any Marshall I've heard. The clean is apparently the cleanest sound from any Marshall, but overall the amp is voiced a little more modern than other Marshalls.

If you don't know how to EQ it, and crank the gain, you're going to get some poor sounds, but using some unconventional EQ'ing (start at 0 and add to taste rather than 12 o'clock) you can pull some super sweet tasty tones from it!

    Any other questions just ask!

  • @AdamDallas Thx, dude.

  • @AdamDallas Do you get wheels with it XD?

  • @DANTE4891 Nope, put those on myself :P I don't actually have this exact one anymore though, traded it for a head and cab! Better at loud volumes, and is actually slightly easier to transport for me

  • 2:14-2:18 WOOOOO!!!!

  • Nice amp, nice playing, and nice accent lol. I love my TSL602 and have heard nothing but good things about the JVM series.

  • How long should you give it to warm up? At what volume?

  • Am I right in saying Mein Teil?

  • @MrORLY You are indeed!

  • How often do you need to replace tubes? Are they prone to problems? How loud do you really need to crank it up to get that famous tube sound?

  • I've had mine since around May 08, and with regular usage, (an hour a day on average and some light gigging) the factory tubes are still going well!

As long as you take good care of the tubes, i.e let them warm up properly, don't move the amp while they're hot, you should have no problems!

  • I'm a Gibson/Marshall diehard fan. I'm an intermediate guitar player, and I've been doing tons of research on guitar equipment. I don't gig, I just play in my room, but that doesn't mean it won't get loud occasionally. Versatility is pretty important so would you recommend getting a tube amp like the JVM410 or a much cheaper solid state amp with tons of effects like the VOX VT series?

  • If you can afford it, I really can't recommend the JVM enough, if you run an overdrive pedal in front of it, like a tubescreamer (i really love the cheap boss SD-1) you can pull just about any classic marshall tone out of it

Plus if you get an amp which would be able to cope with gigs, you're kinda future proofing yourself, you never know where you'll end up ;)

  • And while it doesn't need to be crazily loud, the only way to get a really good sound is to crank an amp to some degree, a huge percentage of a good tone is the speaker interacting with the air around it! In saying that, this amp can be as quiet as you need and have more gain than you can actually use!

  • JVM 410C And JVM 4100H

    Differences ???

    Nice Video

  • the 410h is the head alone. You need to buy a separate speaker cabinet.

the 410 c is a combo, meaning it comes amp and speaker in one package.

As far as sound and versatilty, there shouldn't be a difference.

  • 410C is the combo amp version.. Speaker and 100 watt head in one.

410h is the head(amp) by itself. You will still ned to buy a guitar speaker cabinet.

Soundwise and powerwise they are the same

  • But why the 410H has the higher price??

    Have you any advantage??

    Thanks

  • Generally the 410H would have a lower price, as you're not paying for the speakers and extra wood!

  • @AdamDallas what do u mean extra wood?? oh and hey, if u get the 410h with a 1960 cab or somthn, would the sound be the same as the combo? and...i have an avt150h hlafstack right now, if i sold that and got this JVM410h and a 1960cab, would there actually be like...a huge difference in sound?? oh and what does the "410" santd for?

  • 1960 has 4 speakers, so the sound would be smoother and fatter as the output from the head is spread over 4 speakers rather than 2, and more air is being moved.

There would be a huge difference not only in sound, but in feel between the AVT and JVM. JVM would be fatter, smoother, more gain, more responsive because it's full valve, the AVT only has 1 or 2 valves in the power amp section!

    410 stands for 4 channel 100 watt!

  • @AdamDallas oh lol ok thanks, would u recoomend this amp for me?? ive been playing for a year but i play like...ALOT lol...like 8 horus on weekends and about 2 or 3 on weekdays kus of school. and i have an epi sg but am getting a gibson custom vos sg with maestro

  • @tcherassi1 I'd recommend this amp to anyone ;)

  • @tcherassi1 just make sure you have a high quality guitar with noiseless pickups and an ISP decimator for noise control as this amp is horrible for noise, you will get sick of the noise in 5 minutes. The high gain is fun only after you get rid of the horrid noise and hum this amp puts out. Take a look at my demo videos of the ISP on one of these amps, it will help you a whole lot.

  • Sorry for my english

    I'm Brazilian

  • o i don't mind one bit :O)

    Rock on!

  • im hearing rammstein.haha i played this amp in the full stack version.its amazing.and the half stack.the head is jst insane

  • low the trible high the mid and level.........and it sound like metal

  • By the way, this amp sounds so incredible. Adam is right, the low end power on this thing is astounding.

  • Presence and Resonance controlls do not effect the amp until the "master" button is pushed on your foot controller. Those controls control the boost/solo feature...

  • They do, if you turn them even when the master button is not engaged they make a huge difference on the sound, they're under the master section of the control panel because they affect the whole amp, it's not cause they work when the master button is pressed :)

  • Really?...I will check...

  • and the one at 1:50

  • Second song is My Curse by Killswitch Engage and the song at 1:50 is Still Beats Your Name by the same band, both from the album as Daylight Dies :)

  • whats the second song you play?

  • hey man can this amp get like, modern guitar kind of sounds, like papa roach for example?

  • for a second I thought that Tokai guitar was a Gibson or an Epiphone. Usually you can tell the diffrence between a real Les Paul and a Les Paul look-alike, but you can't tell the diffrence. No wonder Gibson sued them....

  • Yeah, there's actually a Gibson tribute model to some guy, whose name escapes me at the minute, but i swear it looks identical to my Tokai =)

In saying that, i do have to admit nothing beats a real Gibson!

  • I agree. I love Gibsons.

  • Are you thinking of John Sykes from thin lizzy?

  • No, but i know the one you mean, i've seen a Tokai actually called J.S and it's uncanny to the Gibson

  • you have that amp and only have it at 1 pretty nice sound tho

  • Man, it would have been cool to hear that bass!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm honestly not sure, i only played one briefly. I know the 2 channel version has 3 modes on each channel, so there's 6 modes, but i'm pretty confident it has more gain than you'll ever need to use anyways!

  • love the accent man!!! rock on!

  • Cheers mate! Gonna get another vid of the amp up soon

  • This is my curse!

  • mode four

  • you mean you prefer the mode 4? :S

  • nice playing man and sick sound. gonna get one too!

  • Yeah...the mother of all amps

  • oh and, hes right about the tone sounding really thick and simply BEAUTIFUL in person. I took one for a spin today :D.

  • what is the difference in sound between the combo and the regular head + cab setup?

  • Well, depending on what type of cab you get, assuming you get a 4X12 cab you'll have a slightly thicker sound, and i would actually advise a head and cab if you're planning to play pretty loud, combos can get a bit rattly when you really crank them!

  • mm. sounds like for bedroom playing that this will be well and truly good enough. I'll not be likely to be playing live for quite some time so I might save myself a grand and get the combo. thanks for the input mate :P.

  • yeah!

Don't worry, this beast is too much for your room, it will blow you windows!! :P

You can add a 2X12' cabinet later.

  • How much would one of these cost?

  • generally anywhere between £800-£1000

  • damn!

  • dude turn down your treble and presence, it sounds very unbalanced

  • i see what u mean bout the camera ruinin the bass aw well

  • i played that amp today with the new 08 les paul, and i was blown away at its tone on the clean setting.

and ofcourse the distortion sounded amazing as well :D overall amazing amp

  • I got mine in the same combo version.....it sucked ass...might have just gotten some bad tubes, but it sounded like ass without my BBE sonic maximizer.

  • I had a few problems with mine when i got it, some frequencies were making horrible vibrations, so they retubed it for me, and it sounded pretty good, but the more i've played it it's just gotten better and better as the tubes have broken in!

  • Hey man, i live in belfast and i can tell from your accent your a northern lad, like myself. however i notice from the electric plugs that your video is probably not filmed in the north of ireland. I'm a passionate guitarist, and if you would be up for it, and if it were possible, I'd love to have a jam sometime. I'm after the Marshall JVM410c but I don't have the £900 quite yet.

  • Fuck the mode four! I am buying the 410 JVM head and a cab!

    Btw man... You fucking ROCK!

  • Cheers man, the JVM is probably the best amp i've ever heard, I know it's a pretty sweeping statement, but i'm willing to back it up!

  • is that epiphone or gibson?

  • Neither, it's a Tokai, they're a japanese brand who gibson sued for making copies that were better than the original XD
