Also The ascension of Jesus there is no place in the Bible that says Jesus went Easter night and it was more like 40 days after Easter.
The Bible is the inspired word of God. By denying it's divine inspiration, you are demoting it to a storybook. Your Jesus can't take away your sins because you do not believe he is Lord.

It consists of the notes McDowell compiled on Christianity while he was in graduate study...the notes that convinced him Christianity was true...the notes he was taking for a paper meant to DISPROVE Christianity. That is a powerful argument for the integrity of the work. Doesn't mean he is right. But does lend a certain objectivity to McDowell that this guy doesn't have.

I've been reading "New Evidence that Demands a Verdict" (I don't know whether that is the same as, an earlier, or a later book than what you are commenting on) and it doesn't really sound at all like what you are describing. Without the book in front of me right now, it is hard to give exact reference, but I'm pretty sure McDowell highlights archeological finds that confirm biblical details (particularly in Luke) that make reference to Ceasar Augustus and Quirinius.

I am put off by his profiteering on the topic without disclosing the fact he didn't get married young.
