  • You gotta love Aspenly's comments... he can't decide whether organic food is "a little better" or "a little worse" than pesticide-poisoned food.... he loves all those chemicals... he reminds me of an elderly couple I saw once on the news, who had been taking capsules of DDT for years because they were sure it could do no harm. (They were made at the "damned socialist government" for banning it). They looked half-dead in the TV interview, but, they were sticking by their beloved pesticides. :)

  • Have you ever actually done any research on organic food? I would hope you would, since I would assume you are eating it, and paying the huge extra cost for it. For example, it's been published in numerous peer review journals that organic food shows little advantage (or disadvantage) over normal, non-organic food. The pesticides used in non-organic have been heavily tested for years, and infact leave only a miniscule trace amount in the remaining food.

Try reading a book now and then.

  • Most studies have shown that organic foods have significantly higher levels of beneficial phytochemicals than pesticide-poisoned foods. And for many of the pesticides used in farming, contrary to your assertions, no safe level of dietary consumption has been determined. And organic farming in general produces higher (not lower) food yields than non-organic. The profit motive is the driving force behind the chemicals in our food supply.

  • @Aspenly The huge majority of peer reviewed review studies over the past 15 years suggest organic is more nutritious/healthier. "Organic crops contain a significantly higher amount of certain antioxidants (vitamin C, polyphenols and flavonoids) and minerals, as well as have higher dry matter content than conventional ones.""there is a lower level of pesticide residues, nitrate and some heavy metal contaminations in organic crops compared to conventional ones." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17297755

  • @Aspenly "reviews of multiple studies show that organic varieties do provide significantly greater levels of vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus than non-organic varieties of the same foods. While being higher in these nutrients, they are also significantly lower in nitrates and pesticide residues.""organic foods typically provide greater levels of a number of important antioxidant phytochemicals (anthocyanins, flavonoids, and carotenoids)." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20359265

  • @Aspenly "For individual nutrients, existing studies show that organic fertilization practices produce crops with higher levels of ascorbic acid, lower levels of nitrate, and improved protein quality compared with conventionally grown crops.""Animal studies showed better growth and reproduction in animals fed organically grown feed compared with those fed conventionally grown feed." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9439021

  • @Aspenly "A short review of such experiments shows that the majority of these tests revealed effects of the organically produced feed on health parameters such as reproductive performance and immune responses."" The science-based results suggest positive influences from organic feeds" ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20355028 "Ecological food is tastier and contains more essential amino-acids, vitamin C, and micro-nutriments than usual food" ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16610189

  • @Aspenly "1/ organic plant products contain more dry matter and minerals (Fe, Mg); and contain more anti-oxidant micronutrients such as phenols and salicylic acid, 2/ organic animal products contain more polyunsaturated fatty acids""4/ 94–100% of organic food does not contain any pesticide residues, 5/ organic vegetables contain far less nitrates, about 50% less" agronomy-journal"dot"org/index .php?option=com_article&access =doi&doi=10.1051/agro/2009019& Itemid=129

  • @Aspenly "Organic crops contained significantly more vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus and significantly less nitrates than conventional crops. There were nonsignificant trends showing less protein but of a better quality and a higher content of nutritionally significant minerals with lower amounts of some heavy metals in organic crops compared to conventional ones." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11327522

  • @Aspenly International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition "Organic food: nutritious food or food for thought?" Weight gain was greater in organically fed rats, mortality was lower at 9 weeks, incidence of degenerative diseases was lower. Lower mortality in organically fed rabbits. 2nd and 3rd generation rabbits from organically fed parents exhibited higher birth rates and more viable embryos. Infectious illnesses were less frequent in 2nd generation organically fed animals.

  • Aspenly WTF are you talking about? name one reason why non organic food is better than organic. unbelievable what some people believe

  • organic food is the one of the worst things to come of the new health movement our species is on. A bit of research will show anyone that organic food is a scam and can even be dangerous. It feeds off peoples insecurities and lack of knowledge about the chemicals that are currently used on our food.

  • Yes, organic is really really bad for you!:) But not for me! It is healthy and taste much much better! But you just eat yours!

  • That's cool, Aspenly, you go on eating foods filled with pesticides, herbicides, and other poisons... food that is bland and tasteless, and filled with chemicals, and spiked with artificial flavors and colors......feeding poisoned foods to your children, and defending it... and writing silly rants attacking people who are trying to eat better, more nutritious food. That's totally cool with me... more organic food for the rest of us.

  • hmm.. that was quite the silly rant you just posted. You know.. you sound like a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist. Don't you find it odd that you claim there are all these things out there in our food and such, yet we continue to lead longer and healtier lives than ever before? Do you realize how much of the world can now be fed because of these so called evils of yours? Fuck you asshole. You want to deny starving people food, just so you can make yourself feel better? Fucking selfish jerk

  • @Aspenly "Today's scientific evidence demonstrates that agroecological methods outperform the use of chemical fertilizers in boosting food production where the hungry live- especially in unfavorable environments.""To date agroecological projects have shown an average crop yield increase of 80% in 57 developing countries, with an average increase of 116% for all African projects."

    srfood.org/index.php/en/component/content/article/1174-report-agroecology-and-the-right-to-food

  • @Aspenly "Organic farming can yield up to three times as much food as conventional farming on the same amount of land.""in developed countries, yields were almost equal on organic and conventional farms. In developing countries, food production could double or triple using organic methods"" sciencedaily"dot"com/releases/2007/07/070711134523.htm

  • love to watch videos, and organic ads like this, if i could do this for employment vewing ads, and videos, would do this in heartbeat, this is very educational video, also very intteresting to listen to, very good , want to go to market right now, maybe can get employment this way, wonder how i do this, love this dont have advertisement, would not no what to buy very nice

  • hi were organic

we just published 2 videos and was wondering if ou could watch ours.

    they are comedy.

if you like a good laugh watch our videos.

    we are at organicsHR17. -thanks!

  • The money people save by not buying organic they just end up spending at the doctors office anyway! The problem isn't the high price of organic! It's the low price of the non organic food. We've become spoiled here in the US with to much cheap food.

  • There is absolutely no difference between organic and non-organic foods, nor is their proof that one is more nutritional than the other.

Also, it is NOT better for the environment. "Natural" fertilizers are used in the form of bovine feces which produces methane. Methane contributes to 18% of air pollution. It also takes four times more land just to produce the same amount of food that non-organic farms produce.

There is no difference, you stupid fuck.

  • Just eat your shit! Im happy with my organic food, they taste much better and I cured with them many of my illnesses, like allergy, stomach problem, so thats a big proof for me!

  • lmao. sure, buddy.

  • if you buy your organic food there is a 50% chance you are eating non organic food. Because the person you bought from is either lying or telling the truth. you stand to make more money if you sell non organic food as organic.

  • Organic (and ideally locally grown) tastes way better, and is much better for you and for the environment.

People like to say its expensive, but I say - you haven't seen expensive till you come down with a chronic disease or something similar.

Quit buying the $200 pairs of jeans and shoes, and take care of your body - so that it can take care of you.

  • I agree with it not being as expensive as most people think. When we stopped buying junk food, expensive household cleaners from big toxic companies (now use simple white vinegar, lemons, baking soda, etc) and no more canned/ boxed concoctions (make our own sauces, dressings, rice dishes, noodle dishes, etc. fresh from scratch) and found out that the cost is the same if not less. Plus, we ate smaller portions-better for our waistline, and the food is delicious. Its all about slow food, baby!

  • ammonia is a household cleaner. its toxic and caustic.

Yet all planets get their nitrogen (needed for amino acids and nucleic acids, or DNA/RNA)

from ammonia or ammonium nitrate (there is another source, but it is also toxic to humans)

Besides, plants themselves make more toxins than we do by using pesticides. Conventional then wins because organic has no point and a higher cost.

With the money you save you could spend it on better things. Like bailing yourself out of debt.

  • 2:05 to 2:24 His absolutely right!!

  • wow some of these people don't know much about organic foods. we need to create more famers that will grow organicly, the more we have the cheaper the food will be. support local farmers.

  • whats the DEEAWL with ORGAAHNIK foood ??

  • she doesn't show us her boobs ?

    BOOOO!!!

  • That kid's shirt is so dope hahaha. "Yo!"

  • thats made me hungry for fruit

  • I eat INDUSTRIAL METALLIC food!!!! like bolts with my motor oil also sometimes like to chomp on some bricks

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I don't care much about organic; you are hot!

  • pesticide free? Not at all! They use organically approved pesticides!

  • no, I dont go out of my way to eat organic.

I dont go to Starbucks or practice yoga either.

  • Fucking retards! Organic means its not a fucking rock! Everything is fucking organic! Without pesticides the food would be the same but all the fucking bugs would eat it.

  • TopGun, Of course the bugs will eat conventional foods that are growing in mineral deficient soil. There should be around 52 different minerals in the soil of organically grown food (not only the 3 minerals that are in modern day fertilizer). Without the correct soil minerals, yes the farmer is going to have to use pesticides because the food lacks the natural defenses that it would normally extract from a healthy soil. Keep on eating your chemicals TopGun and live fast.

  • you are a fool among fools

  • wheres leah

  • Organic food hurts the environment. Organic food yields about half the crops of conventionally grown crops. Therefore it uses more land to produce the same amount of food. That means we have to tear down forested areas to make more farmland for organic farming. With less forests, there is more carbon in the environment because the trees cannot absorb it and make oxygen.

With the ever-increasing population, why not try and have the most efficient farming methods as possible.

  • cool.

  • Unless I grow it myself, I'm not going to pay that much more for a food that is supposedly organic. The only guarantee that I have that the food I'm paying 40% more for is a little "ORGANIC" sticker on it, which could very well just be put on there as a business thing. God only knows how many stupid people are paying lots of money for the same thing that you can find in a regular grocery store for a lot less. I understand that organic food is healthier, but not all "organic" food is really that.

  • organic = stupid

  • WHAT IS ORGANIC TO ME? HM... ITS ANYHTHING THAT CONTAINS CARBON, LIKE THE DEFINITION SAYS... GET A DICTONARY. lol

  • They are talking about CERTIFIED organic produce. One meaning of organic is "containing carbon". Did you watch the video? They are talking about food, not rocks or other items. It was filmed at a FARMER'S market. No need to pick apart the terminology. Many English words have more than one meaning. Listen to the context. It's not that confusing. There would be no point in having a taste test if it were all the same! Organic (chemical, GMO-free, etc) does taste different. Try it yourself!

  • jeez, some people can't take a joke...

  • So informative, creative & fun!! Love the people's opionion especially that kid...why?

  • she is hot

  • Genetic modification allows for use of less pesticides, which means more people get to eat. I you are against GMOs, then you are opposed to less folks starving.

  • Hmm, I wonder how much genetically modified food is actually given away to the people who can't afford it. It's not for the starving -- give me a BREAK. It's so the companies can make bigger profits.

  • Obviously it's cheaper; they can sell more that way. Organic food is more expensive, not only because it requires more work, but because it's more desired. It's really all up to the consumers. Honestly, I have no problem with GMO's.

I'm not sure what to say about the problem of starvation, but aid organizations aren't going to spend more money buying organic food... I don't really think there's much to argue with there.

  • cool =)... i eat organic =)

  • Of course you eat organic you stupid bitch. You didnt eat organic it means you eat rocks!

  • Still alot cheaper than they used to be compared to the average income.
