  • I just told my wife to look up John H. Mitchell for me (Helplessly). She told me I have bad news - John is not with us anymore. John was an inspiration to this Vietnam Veterans when I got home. He heard me play on the drums and stop me - told me from this day forward you will be a vocal entertainer. The rest is history. John was a legend. Please email me (Chico Mendez) marymendez365@yahoo.com. My wife is always checking her email. I would like to speak with you his son.

  • beautiful music

  • i keep reading of how 'Black Radio' (black radio? i dont get that) in the US wouldn't support 'Club' records as this wonderful outfit was considered

i cant stop singing - you got me hummin'

  • Thank you for posting! This has got to be one of my most favorite Disco songs ever! Such a rare find on vinyl. I found my copy of the Salsoul 12" in a trailer full of old disco records. It was on the floor under a stack of records with no cover, inner sleeve, nothing. It was dirty but surprisingly not banged up as much as it could have been. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned until I got it sounding pretty decent.

  • This instrumental is Bangin!

  • Thank you for those words....im the son of John Mitchell and this brings me to joy on this day...its been a week of him passing away and this brings tears to my eyes....thank u for posting this....hey sis...dad was enjoyed by many....to all the fans we will be putting out all of his work from the 70's for u to listen too very soon....

  • @Water2Live We regret finding this out a year later. Your family was an inspiration to me (Chico Mendez from Johnson Projects in New York in the 70's when I returned from Vietnam. email at marymendez365@yahoo.com. My wife checks her email daily. I that John's family is doing well. My wife father also passed away last year. I hope that you keep up with his music legacy because it was great; but not as great as the man John H. Mitchell.

  • Hello. I am so happy to see this posted! The singer/drummer is my father, John H. Mitchell. He died on May 7. This is a rare tune! His music lives because of people like you & the listeners. He will be memorialized on May 21, please play this on that day. Thank you!

  • @Buttababy Vietnam. email at marymendez365@yahoo.com. My wife checks her email daily. I that John's family is doing well. My wife father also passed away last year. I hope that you keep up with his music legacy because it was great; but not as great as the man John H. Mitchell.

  • Is the instrumental on the flip of the original Roulette 7" release from 1975? (The Salsoul 12" remix was issued in 1976)

  • Yes it's on the B side of the original Roulette single (Roulette 7164) issued in 1975
