  • I got mine at petco

  • I went to Walmart and some netts r dead there spool sad

  • What do I do with my baby netts its too many I don't have enough money to keep buying food and gravel and I don't have enough time to clean their tanks and feed them all reply back cuz I don't know what to do with them

  • verrryr pretty betta! I have never seen one that light before it's beautiful!

  • Pretty betta! And cool bobble nest! Just recently my betta created a bubble nest that covered the whole top of his fish bowl :) check out my videos!

  • bettas are the simplest fish to take care of. I have 2 healthy bettas that only live in a 2.5 gallon bowl each ... no heater only light .. and they are active swimmers .. they blow bubble nests which is a sign of a healthy betta... so people want to rant and rage about putting them in tanks with filters and so forth... do you really know what a bettas thinking and what it wants? If im giving it a better home then walmart or the petstores (ie, giving it a larger bowl to swim in) than let it be!

  • are bubblenest good cuz i have them in my betta fish bowl

  • ive had my betta for 24 hours and it's already made a bubble nest

  • Beatiful Betta!

  • i have the same bowl

  • Most Popular food for any betta is frozen bloodworms or dried worms. xD

  • i have an all white betta that looks exactly like that and i see bubbles like that constantly haha

  • I have a male beta in 1.5 gallon bowl as well. Is that a real plant in there? Also, his bowl gets foggy real fast, any ideas on how to keep it from getting foggy so fast? Is it maybe because I am feeding him too much? What is your feeding pattern for your beta?

  • Bubblenests are eggs right?

  • Where did you get your bowl?? :)

  • My fish is in a 1/2 gallon tank (I am VERY ashamed to say) and he made a little bubble nest! It disintegrated pretty quickly though. =( Thankfully, his new 1.5 gallon tank just arrived in the mail! =D

  • @rochiealvarez

WOAH--- HOLD UP THERE BOY! a) you need at least a 5 gal tank to breed.

    b) you need a special water level

    c) you need to prep them on a special diet for at least 2 weeks

    d) your male needs to be sexually ready as told by many things

    e) your female must also be ready

    f) your male must blow good large bubble nests

    g) your female must show breeding stripes

    h) you need a sperate container for each baby after they are alive for 3 months.

    i) SO MUCH MORE ITS NOT FUNNY

  • Thanks so much for posting this video. I own a betta fish myself and it lives in a bowl. I didn't know it can breed in a bowl before. Now I know. I'm certainly buying a female beta fish :DD

  • Betas make bubble nests no matter what. not just when they are ready to breed. You should put a filter and a heater in there. They are tropical fish and require a heated and filtered environment.

    Agreed he is beauriful!!!!

  • i miss my betta. he was a purple with a kind of blue green fin.

  • hes really gorgeous I would hurt someone for one like that lol.

  • My betta died this morning ='( (we will all miss you Torquiose)

  • u dont have a female????

  • butiful betta! in my fish stores, it is so hard to find a pearl white male betta, i mean, females, i have 2 and 1 that is white with pink fins, but it not the same as a male, a male has more fin, and looks prettyer lol ^.^

  • i have a male betta in a one gallon bowl, and he's loving it, but how do u keep up the temp. of the water? cuz i live in a basement so its a little cold down here. and also what do u feed him? i give mine bettamin pellets, he eats likes them, but sometime he tries to eat them but he spits them out because i think some pellets are too big for his mouth, i was wondering if i can try tetra min tropical fish flakes.

  • WHY do you keep bettas in bowls?!?!? they need bigger tanks.

  • becuase they dont need bigger tank with filter and heater to live, thats just waste of money unless you want it to look good, but they can live happily in bowl without any filteration or heater

  • Thats what you think! -.-' They DO need bigger tanks! also why wouldn't they need filter and heater? they live in REALLY WARM place so they NEED a heater where they live it's 30 degree celcious warm!!! and they DO need filter why would yo uthink they need and they are NOT happy in bowl! surviving and being happy is way diffrent thing!

  • @Eigeroo well technacaly they dont need a heater and filter, but it is recommended, they may live in worm places, but as long as it is in a non drafty room, and u clean it regularaly, it should be fine, that betta looks fine to me, but that my opinion

  • @ kevin

I have a 20 gallon tank with danios, neon tetras, ghost shrimps, and a betta

my betta also eats the tropical fish flakes and i think he/she likes it

i also feed him/her the normal betta food

  • why in the world would u put danios with a betta? are u stupid? danios nip a the fins of a betta and cause stress. i swear some of these fishkeepers are so stupid

  • ummm

    Im not stupid

they dont even go near the betta and I have them

for 2 months and nothing happened

    no fights or anything

  • take my advice and get rid of the danios. but its your aquarium do what u want

  • actually if thats the case, it should be perfectly fine. Just make sure that there are enough danios that they can establish a heirarchy amoungst themselves and leave your betta alone.

  • what is a buble nest for

  • bettas like bowls, i had mine in a bowl for 1 day after buying and had a bubble nest the next day =]

  • Bettas doesn't like bowls!!!!! ffs. They do bubblenest's because htey want to mate.

  • how would u know? are you a fisH?

  • OFC they need filter and heater EVERY FISH NEEDS IT! unless they are coldwater fish then they don't need heater.

  • @Eigeroo In my experience, if you do enough water changes using aged, treated water, you can get by without using a filter. Cold water fish however do in fact need a filter.

  • @Eigeroo

Bettas do benefit from a filter, but don't require it. Filters are meant to clean and create aeration in the water so that fish can breath. However, bettas have a unique trait called the labyrinth lung, which allows them to swim up to the surface and gulp oxygen. =D

  • I like to disgree with the feeding betta. mine eats eveything. Ifeed him a blend of betta flakes and tetra granuals and occasionaly for added fiber i feed him lettice. soon ill add dried bloodworms to his diet i hope e will like those

  • Thats such a huge bowl :O

  • Hey Alex i bought a betta about 8 days ago and he hasn't eaten a single thing. I tried giving him bettafood but he justs eats it then spits it back out.

  • This is a common behavior in Bettas. They are typically picky eaters and they don't for whatever reason accept all foods. However, I was able to solve this problem with my Betta by feeding it flakes instead of the pellets which I originally fed him. Try feeding him regular tropical flake food instead of the pellets, as this is commonly much more favorable to Bettas.

  • haha my betta made a huge one but was almost all dead because his lips were puffed up and wite ugh and bettas r so picky i spent a week and a half trying to find something he would eat he wouldnt even eat stuff for bettas!

  • @quaqa88 same thing here mine mouths are too small so i gave them flakes

  • @quaqa88 my male betta does this to but with no female do you know why?

  • try to give him a mix of blood worms and goldish flakes or tropical if u havent already solved the prob

  • @brianvelasquez try feeding it live food

  • @brianvelasquez Yep - common 'problem'. (not really a problem). Especially on a new type of food from their last type. Try either flakes, or what mine LOVE are bloodworms. They'll eat them, spit them out, for awhile... then they'll start eating them and be begging for more.

  • my betta has a huge one i think he thinks im his wife lol

  • hahahha!

  • i thinks it is.. when the betta makes nests it means hes happy... i think.

  • Dude, you should really keep the betta in a tank.

    Awesome fish though.

  • nice betta why dont u put a diy filter in there? it would be good for the fish

  • gquaqua how many aquariums you have i t seems like a 100!~lol 5/5

  • did you make the beat on garage band?

  • Yes. How did you know?

  • i recognized some of the beats. you did a good job though.

  • how do u keep that water clear mine gets cloudy in like 1or2 days and hes in a bowl exactly like urs please answer back

  • lol i was about 2 say that

  • beautiful betta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks! Unfortunately though, as it ages, it is changing color and it is not the desired pure white color anymore. It is slowly growing black scales all over it's body and I am quite disappointed but there is nothing I can do.

  • @quaqa88 There is a lot you can do.. The tank is way too small for the fish, and this Betta couldn't give you a more clear signal "I want a female betta!"

And God.. please get rid of that bowl, fish get very dizzy and sick from a round bowl.. Where is the heater? Betta's are tropical fish, and require warm water..

Its a miracle it is still living...

  • pretty colors

  • thanks anyway

  • I am gessing that it is a female, am i right

  • You guessed wrong. Females have extremely short fins and do not have the long flowing fins that the male has. As you can see here, my Betta has long fins in which determines it to be a male Betta.

  • Not necessarily, a lot of male Bettas (including Plakats) can have short fins. The length of the fins is however a good rule to go by when sexing these fish.

  • Hi there,

I'm looking at getting a 1.5 gallon tank for a male Batta like yourself. Do you find it suficient? Do you have a Heater/Filter at all? Your advice would be greatly apreciated.

    Thanks

  • A 1.5 gallon tank in my opinion would be perfect your Betta but no other fish can live in there. The tank should be heated and filtrated no matter what. Usually people will think that Bettas can be kept in tiny little bowls where the fish has so little room that it can't even turn it's body around. This should never be where the Betta has to live it's life. Bettas actually require somewhat warmer water than most other fish do. They can live long under the correct conditions. (Continue below)

  • My Betta was in here very temporarily. He is now in a 30 gallon community tank that is heated to 79 degrees Fahrenheit and is provided with a lot of filtration and nutrition.

  • Thanks for the advice it really helped. I have a filter, now I'm just looking for a heater that would suit. Some people have said that in a 1.5 gallon you shouldnt use a heater becuase even the smallest can overheat that volume of water?

I read this at BettaTalk website from a breeder.

  • I will reply to you privately since I did not have enough room to type.

  • can i add u as a friend i like all ur videos and i suscribe them

  • that's a doubletail right?

  • I believe so. I don't know if that is the real name of it though.

  • yes that is a doubletail

  • scissortail lol idk

  • My betta died today on tumor :'(

  • Just some cool facts, if your goldfish has a tumor and if the tumor is large enough, it is possible to surgically remove it with a scalpel.

  • my betta makes bubbles but their not all together like tht their like around the rim of the bowl ...... wats wrong ???

  • There is nothing wrong with your Betta and it is nothing to worry about. All Bettas create different kinds of Bubblenests. They are all different. Some will clump all of the bubbles in one spot, and others will separate them along the walls of the tank. Just make sure that the water is not too turbulent because a strong current in the water can sometimes break apart the bubbles. But otherwise, your Betta is fine and if it is ready to mate, the female will still put her eggs in the bubblenest.

  • my betta made one a couple hours ago. now i can release the female and let them do there thing.

  • i have two swordtails and mollies that have been pregnant for 4 months now so i took 2 swordtails and a mollie and put them in a fish bowl should they give birth now?

  • First of all, a tank would be much better, and I would separate the swordtails from the molles. If they are pregnant, I'm pretty sure they will give birth no matter what due to the fact that they are live bearers meaning that they give live birth.

  • You should provide a spawning mop (In which I explain how to make in another video), or a clump of Java Moss. These will provide hiding places for the fry once they are born which is necessary because the parents will try to eat their babies as soon as they are born. Once they are born the parents must be removed from the tank. This is why you should have a tank for them, because you will need to be easily getting your hands in and out, and there will be a lot of babies.

  • did you have fry ?!

  • No, there is no female in there to lay the eggs.

  • he looks kinda like a veil tail or a split... cant really tell never got a clear look at him o_O

  • I really like your betta. Do him a favour though, get a a bigger place for him ok. Do some reading about betta breeding as well if you plan on trying. The way you describe it is not correct.

  • i had a betta but i put it in my fish tank instead of a bowl and it died take a look i have him in my vids

  • awesome betta

  • nice betta

  • nice betta its a dual tail or something like that right??

I just got mine a 3 gallon bow front with a heater and he went from a bubble nest like that to like 4 times that lol

  • i never new that when they

make the bubbles that they were ready to bread. two of my males have ben doing it fors days now. i did't know that they

were the cause of the bubbles. thanks for the info!!

  • Yeah. Take the female and put her bowl next to the male's bowl and let them become comfortable with each other. When it looks like they are ready, put them together. It is extremely common for the male to attack the female. Just take her out if it looks like she's doing to die. If everything is right, they should have eggs within a few days. Remove the female and the male when they lay the eggs to make sure they don't eat them.

  • nice i like the betta is it albino ???? also like the music

  • No, the fish is not albino. The only thing stopping it from being albino is it doesn't have red eyes. They are completely black. I created the music myself :)

  • cool it look alot like an albino>>>> dude that is awesome music that you created was it on garage band on the mac or somethin else>>>>

  • No i used garage band

  • cool did u hear about the phoo contest on liveaquaria>>>>

  • Ya I actually did. But I don't know what it's all about though.

  • well if u win you get a free trip to hawaii which is very nice!!!!

  • nice male!! nice tank set up too!

  • LOL he is a happy betta, u should get a mini heater and a smallworld filter, that would make him extremley happy, he would fill the whole bowl with bubbles, lol! NAh he is a cutie! Have a look at my little guys!

  • thats cool nice fish

  • thats pretty neat. you should get a female.
