  • I dont understand wtf everyone is talking about. How is a cover of a song featured in a movie a rip off of Mr. Bungle? Yes DFD is influenced heavily by Pattons work, but this is a cover, not DFD trying to be Mr. Bungle or any other Patton project. Im a huge fan of both bands, and i dont recall a single Bungle song that sounded like this, and if I did, that would be PATTON taking inspiration from Grease! It is possible to have similar taste in music and not be a "rip off." DFD is amazing.THE END

  • @dreamtheaterz28 Fully agree

  • @kralle333 Thank you : D

  • @dreamtheaterz28 Actually these lyrics are used in a Mr. Bungle song as an ode to grease. It's in a song on the album with the clown on the cover (can't remember the album name). Find it kind of odd that DFD happens to cover this same song? I do. If they truly wanted to separate themselves from Mr. Bungle and Mike Patton they would have never touched this song. Whatever though, I like both bands just wanted to educate you.

  • @diablowigglz Im well aware of this kid. You're not "educating" anyone. And if you could read, people are comparing the sound of this song to Mr. Bungle, which is ridiculous. If you know anything about DFD or Todd and Jasan, you would know they do covers all the time of odd 80s songs and things of the like(mostly live) . Why dose it matter if Patton recited ONE FUCKING LINE FROM THIS SONG in Travolta/ Quote, Unquote. Sorry but that dosent say "rip off" by any means. Learn what rip off means boy

  • @dreamtheaterz28 I second that

  • @dreamtheaterz28 Mr bungle and dog fashion share band mates, along with an ex vocalist from mushroomhead, great post though

  • @dreamtheaterz28 i agree with the awesomeness!!!!

  • I appreciate this. I'm huge on Mr. Bungle. But I must admit, this is kind of a blatant ripoff. Come' on, be alittle original

  • I dont remember what boner told me Mike Patton was in DFD but they are sorely mistaken, and heavily sedated if they think this guy even looks like Patton, let alone sings like him.

But aside from thier horrendous mistake, this band kicks ass.

  • @grendelsbeard yeah, but I could see the association....still clearly not patton, definitely reminds me of Mr. Bungle (one of Pattons 23094 bands), Fun Fact: Mr. Bungle did a song about Travolta (the songs original title) so they had to change the name to "Quote Unquote"...at least from what Ive read, dont "quote" me on it haha

  • todd smith looks like tim heidecker...

  • Serj Tankian for the win

  • nICE...VERY nICE

    sOAD AND DFD...nice

  • hater ass. it's not about who did what first. just appreciate the music. if by boring you mean well put together i guess ...

  • Possibly the most boring cover I've ever heard.

Do you think DFD would have done this if Mr. Bungle hadn't sampled it in "Quote, Unquote"?

  • @ska2808 umm what song are you referring to, cause i know for sure that it's not the song quote, unquote....and this stuff is nowhere near as crazy as mr. bungle!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 ... read my post several times again ... use your brain ... it'll start to make sense soon enough.

  • @ska2808 why don't you back up your claims and just tell me what song it sounds like....there's no need to be an asshole, douche!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 Come ON! It's fucking simple! Right, I'll break it down into baby helpings:

THIS is a cover of the "Grease" theme tune. Okay? Okay.

Mr Bungle's "Quote Unquote" (about John Travolta) uses a line from the SAME "Grease" theme tune: "Grease is the word, is the word that you heard ..." Okay? Okay.

My point was, since DFD are essentially a Bungle rip-off, do you think the reason they covered this is because Bungle sampled it in "Quote Unquote" ... Okay? Okay.

    Jeesuz

  • @ska2808 you see, know was it THAT hard lol....thanks for the info, not everybody analyzes the fuck out of bands like you, i actually like to pay attention to how it sounds!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 WTF? How is a VERY simple observation "analysing the fuck" out of it?

And if you paid attention to how they sound, you'd have noticed the Grease sample in Quote Unquote.

  • @ska2808 well this is VERY unimportant! Okay? Okay.

    You're a fag. Okay? Okay.

    fuck off. Okay? Okay.

  • @ska2808 I think DFD wouldn't exist without Mr. Bungle. Mr. Bungle wouldn't exist without Oingo Boingo. I love Bungle, Disco Volante is a must! :D

  • they dont have a new album?

  • @Labfiend You... didn't know they disbanded in '07, did you? Their last release was a post-breakup collection of non-album songs. In '08. Sorry, most likely never happening.

  • dfd has a new album, godsmack has a new album... Im a happy man :)

  • erm.... ok

  • lol... yes.

  • sound stuff

  • So fucking awesome.
