I actually just applied with the THP. I love how people think all the Troopers do is write tickets. Can you say ignorant? They still respond to calls, they back other officers up when needed, investigate crimes, and accidents. Why don't you do a ride along with a Trooper and see first hand that it is more then just writing tickets. They risk their lives everyday for people they don't even know just to try and make the highways a little bit safer.
