From what I've heard from the first little bit, Christianity systematically destroys self-esteem, causes you to believe in outrageous claims, and separates you from the truth. Is God an abusive boyfriend?

With the given being both spouses are redeemed by Christ; it doesn't matter who the person is, there will be trouble in marriage because both people are sinners. What makes one more like Christ is how they respond to the trouble & for what motive did they respond the way they did. Will you be an imitator of Christ walking in love or will you return evil for evil? Although joy is a part of the Christian's life; God's concern is your holiness not happiness.
I find it very hard to find fault in anything Paul Washer says. But the great thing about him is he admits that he can make mistakes, but I thank God that when he is preaching he isn't preaching for his own glory but for Christ's.
I don't agree 100% with everything Washer says, But I do agree with alot of it. Especially when it comes to the "sinners prayer". Jesus gave several warning about hell and destruction. Yes Jesus' main goal is To bring you to heaven. we will have trials and tribs, they are suppose to strengthen us. Jesus goal is not to make you feel good aobut yourself in this world! Plain and simple
Ummm. Why didn't they play the rest of the message. Paul Washer condemned that talk about shop talk. They cut it off before he said that. Why didn't they play the rest of it before they chopped him up and spit him out? What's with that?
the problem is the church system dont know the different between position and experience . this is one of the greatest principles of gods word .are position is one with christ are experience is walking in the faith we have (and thats not much)
Paul Washer is saying that marriage is ultimately for us to learn to love unconditionally the way He does. The Bible says husbands love your wives the way Christ loved the church. He loves us in spite of our sin and flaws. God is calling us to love our spouses like that. We fall in love with someone because of who they are and they make us happy but God wants us to love somebody because they are, not for what they can do for us. That is HARD. But, whoever said being a Christian would be easy?

I had no idea Ray Comfort and Kirk would be behind a guy like Paul Washer. I believe God's word shows God cares about every aspect of our lives...not just whether we go to heaven. I find it hard to believe God would want me to pray that He gives me a mate I'm going to have strife with all the time just so I learn patience. I have a problem with a lot of what I've heard Paul Washer say. Now that I know Kirk and Ray are with it,what I hear from them will be taken with a grain of salt+.
No. In fact one message he spoke caused me to be freed from a demon of accusation that had tempted me to commit suicide or self mutilation. Life put so much on me until the devil started to make sense when he said you are worthless, a burden, unable to please people or even God. He's a liar, and I was freed when Joel spoke about the Devil being the accuser. I felt relief, and peace..I lived, succeeded, and was blessed to be a blessing.
You are unable to please God without faith in Christ. If you've been led to believe differently it's only a matter of time before you realize you're still struggling with the same issues regardless of how well you mask it now. Have you trusted in Jesus Christ who has come in the flesh as the atonement for the sins of everyone who believes on Him or in the "fact" that you can became a better you?
I fully trust and have faith in Jesus Christ who has come in the flesh. I do not put any trust in myself to "become a better me" I realize I can't do that on my own and fully rely on the power of God. Joel's words, like any ministers should, simply confirmed the word of God and unctioning of the Holy Ghost within me.
@allblessedup Acts 17:11 "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." You should take everything you hear with a grain of salt, no matter who it is. Examine all that you hear with the Word of God, from John Piper to Joel Osteen. Examine it all.

All I see is that Paul, Kirk, Todd, are preaching the true gospel and nothing else. This is Bible . No grain of salt needed.

Amen with what Ray Comfort says; Paul is an example of the passion every believer should have.

So since the it's true that any ministers words should conform to what God has said in Scripture, the obvious question is, "Why doesn't Joel's?"

Demons believe this as well.

thats not what washer said, you just exposed your own selfish carnal motive behind what your not looking for in a wife.
