another simple trick for silver (jewelry) is the good ol magnet trick (strong magnet) for those that are silver plated. be careful i just ran into this situation but luckily isnt too late, i have my receipt yee
Some more ways to spot fakes. First of all Bullion Coins need to have Purity, Weight and Country. If it has 2 and not the other or 1 and not the other 2 its likely a fake. It needs all 3 marks. 2nd if you see mosquito bite type bumps in the fields (flat open spaces) of the coin its likely a fake. If it sticks to a magnet its a fake. For Silver Eagles the reeded edge needs to be strait across not /\/\/\/\/\/ a tip if you can't read the coin don't buy it unless your sure its real.
Brother thanks for the info. I have been very educated. I have been trying to invest in gold and silver and I need education like this. You are awesome for sharing this with me. God bless you for helping.
you shouldn't buy silver on ebay from chineese ebay sellers. In fact, I think ebay should ban chineese sellers from selling any kind of coin on ebay because of that
damn man I feel bad for ya about this. I have been buying alot off ebay lately but mostly 90% halves and they are fine but some oz. rounds too and I have this one maple leaf that just doesnt seem right to me but I have tested it by weight and also used a digital caliper to measure it and it seems to check out but the thought is still in the back of my head, lol. anyway thanks for the video.
I only buy from local people. That way if I have a problem, I can go back and see them in person. I also am going to purchase a pocket scale to take with me - along with my calculator - so I do not get taken. Good vid.
There are tons of fake silver products coming out of Asian countries these days...personally I wouldn't buy any unless you get them from someone reputable like APMEX or something....and they are starting to get smarter about the fakes..they are making some of the fake silver coins a little larger so that they will weigh 31.1 grams...It sucks that a crook burned you on this deal...it pisses me off too
what you all could try is , if you have a magnet you should hold it against it and it has some kind of special feeling that no other material has , and silver conducts heat very fast so if you rub the coin in your hands you notise its conduction of heat compared to iron or steel that stays cold if you rubb it
Try to balance it on a pen or your finger tip and tap it with a pen or something and you should hear a high pitch ring. Try it with your other coins to hear the sound that your looking for.
So you're saying these respective coins are fake but are they silver to any given extent. I would have a magnet and just check to see if they are silver at all. If they're not then they would just cling to the magnet. China is very fraudulent. Even tracing back to the 1870's & 1880's they used to make counterfeit Trade Dollars of the respective American type. Are you just an investor? Do you collect coins? What was the seller's reasons for the coins not being authentic "genuine" struck pieces?
Never buy precious metals from China. I hope you got your money back AND left the bastard negative feedback.
Also I know it has already been mentioned here before, but remember that some silver is measured in TROY ounces (which are more than an ounce) and some aren't. So comparing their weights to each other doesn't necessarily tell you what's fake or not. If in doubt, take it to a bullion dealer. Sounds like the panda you got was fake though - low quality knock off. :(
Hello to the guy who made this video. I wanted to let you know a ounce in silver or gold is NOT 28 grams like a regular american ounce, they are measured in the old roman ounces which are 31.1 grams per ounce and 12 of those larger ounces per troy pound
Love the tripple beam! Back in the day when they used to walk out of the school with them and sell them for a sack. lol :-). Happy 420. Nice video. Thanks for the info. I knew that stuff on eBay was crap. They jam the pages up with their fake silver for sale. We are all in this together! Peace bro........
dude spend less for gift to your wife.maybe she give u that stress relive and good healthy practice which u can't get from collecting expensive no value coins that u can't fuck with, but that guy who sold u that horse shit can take another wife ,thanks to u guys, never be greed,in my opinon GREED IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS CON,u will get bad health due to stress of buying horse shit like this, thanks for the video, hope you're cool and in good health,if you encounter con like this feel free 2 post it
I am from China. I am also a collector of coins. I feel sorry for what happened to you. I think only get refund from the seller is not enough. it's better if you could leave a negative feedback to him, because not anyone konw how to distinguash real from fake.

I've seen the same stuff on eBay.
Always check the design.
And that its stamped with the weight and purity.
And also check the price and how many people are bidding on it. If no one is bidding on it - why not??
If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
