  • 10th grade 1986.

  • This slower tempo lacks vibrancy which gave this song punch in earlier days.

  • He sounds just like the lead singer from Duran Duran and still hot :-)

  • I can name four members of Squeeze. I don't know who the bass player is though; I think they had several

  • @Poopingbotham For this incarnation of Squeeze the bass player is Keith Wilkinson. The one who originally played on the single is John Bentley who is now part of the latest version of Squeeze. Squeeze have had many bassists, drummers & keyboard players, the only constants are Difford and Tilbrook.

  • CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MANY GREAT RECORDS THEY HAVE HAD OVER THE YEARS

  • It's a bit unusual for a band to slow the pace (a touch) live compared to the recording. It's almost always the other way around.

  • Great band! In every way!

  • Ho yes to a brit a git is a twit I live in Canada and git is short for guitar.I met GlennT at a TO gig and when I pointed out to him that he mite have been influenced by Robbie Robertson he was in joy we had some beers he is a GOD to me

  • I love this band i'v seen 5 times they have made so meny grate CDs that are not as big but just as good PLAY for one.Glen is a git god I hope they keep rocking

  • @MrRichardSabsay I'm glad you added "god" at the end of the sentence about Glenn. "Git" means something different over here! :-)

  • they just did a 45 minute set in bryant park in nyc on thurs., apr. 28 for a show called "artist's den". part of it is on internet.

  • Great Song . . . . . Tillbrook & Difford are absolutely brilliant!! Argy Bargy is a MASTERPIECE!!!!!

  • Great Song . . . . . Tillbrook & Difford are absolutely brilliant!! Argy Bargy is a MASTERPIECE!!!!!

  • Pretty good version but I like it when they play it just a tad faster.

  • brilliant band back in the day..

  • Seems like there,s no Artists left . I hope not. Great band.

  • I bet there's a few bands about that wish they could play live this good .

  • @hyacinthlady Time is a corridor that winds through my life .......

  • @tygre97 I used to listen to Squeeze way back when they first were heard in the United States. Have not heard them since then. It was a real treat to hear them perform again. There music has always been a real joy to hear.

  • @hyacinthlady They've just announced some gigs in the States for July. I hope you get the chance to see them, they're on top form at the moment.

  • @hyacinthlady

They're great! We're going to see them again at the O2 Academy in Glasgow this winter-can't wait! It's been years!

  • @hyacinthlady

"The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." Albert Einstein

  • Adored this song once upon....hearing it again is SO WEIRD. 30 yrs just melt away.

  • Love this song.... what about Glen and Chris's 80's hair!!! ...two great songwriters though, sounds just as fresh today

  • if you want a translation... let me know...

if you were'nt there, how could you know....!! LOL

  • Can't believe how the point of this song has been missed Diff & Till explained the lyrics back in the day,,,,

"Pulling mussels from the shell" is very much non 'PC'nowadays LOL

  • You wish you had a motorboat, to pulse around the harbor....

  • Jools is a great piano player but Squeeze is all about Glen Tillbrook and Chris Difford who wrote most of the songs and gave Squeeze there sound with great vocal harmony

  • Bad Ass!!! If you were not in the 80's, you don't know!!?? Pulling mussels from a shell!!!!

  • and behind the chalet the holidays complete lol thanks for the memories

  • I really like the drums on this, but what I really like is the guitar work, and the keyboards are cool too, cool song.

  • Hey just a moment folks Squezze is not just Holland." English rock quintet formed by the brilliant songwriting of Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook has expandedfrom punchy.postpunk irreverance to rival Lennon and McCartney in the fecundity of it's pop ideas and the polish of its execution" Rolling Stones Record Guide book 1979-1983.

  • can you play an instrument?

    ie bass guitar etc

  • Jool's great . wow, just great. band, what can I say?

  • Jools piano playing during this song has always been amazying. Amazying enought to get my husband to really like this song 18 years ago, after I had been listening to Squeeze for 10 years by that time.

  • What a lovely piano solo Jools plays here, I'd never really appreciated it before.

  • Glenn looking very Rory Bremner! : )

  • great song, great(est) band, but too slow

  • I know the song on bass.but it's so slow for this performance that I actually got lost playing it.............

  • one of the truly great live bands. No pretence, just honest to goodness talent.

  • awsome song!!

  • Cheers for posting - i still have this on an old betamax vid that has be sat in the olds attic for 20 years or more now - recorded from the tube - sure brings back memories - the other 2 from this performance are great clips as well

  • Looks like Jools on the keyboards there

  • thanks so much for posting.
