@Poopingbotham For this incarnation of Squeeze the bass player is Keith Wilkinson. The one who originally played on the single is John Bentley who is now part of the latest version of Squeeze. Squeeze have had many bassists, drummers & keyboard players, the only constants are Difford and Tilbrook.
Ho yes to a brit a git is a twit I live in Canada and git is short for guitar.I met GlennT at a TO gig and when I pointed out to him that he mite have been influenced by Robbie Robertson he was in joy we had some beers he is a GOD to me
I love this band i'v seen 5 times they have made so meny grate CDs that are not as big but just as good PLAY for one.Glen is a git god I hope they keep rocking
@tygre97 I used to listen to Squeeze way back when they first were heard in the United States. Have not heard them since then. It was a real treat to hear them perform again. There music has always been a real joy to hear.
Jools is a great piano player but Squeeze is all about Glen Tillbrook and Chris Difford who wrote most of the songs and gave Squeeze there sound with great vocal harmony
Hey just a moment folks Squezze is not just Holland." English rock quintet formed by the brilliant songwriting of Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook has expandedfrom punchy.postpunk irreverance to rival Lennon and McCartney in the fecundity of it's pop ideas and the polish of its execution" Rolling Stones Record Guide book 1979-1983.
Jools piano playing during this song has always been amazying. Amazying enought to get my husband to really like this song 18 years ago, after I had been listening to Squeeze for 10 years by that time.
Cheers for posting - i still have this on an old betamax vid that has be sat in the olds attic for 20 years or more now - recorded from the tube - sure brings back memories - the other 2 from this performance are great clips as well

This slower tempo lacks vibrancy which gave this song punch in earlier days.

He sounds just like the lead singer from Duran Duran and still hot :-)

I can name four members of Squeeze. I don't know who the bass player is though; I think they had several

CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MANY GREAT RECORDS THEY HAVE HAD OVER THE YEARS

It's a bit unusual for a band to slow the pace (a touch) live compared to the recording. It's almost always the other way around.

@MrRichardSabsay I'm glad you added "god" at the end of the sentence about Glenn. "Git" means something different over here! :-)
