Oh boy are they cute. :) I'm not surprised to see boys bounding around outside- they tend to be more gregarious than females. Usually when I took out my girls, they'd just hide in my lap. Ha. They are NOT outdoor animals (or, it's not their preference).

@0xyoursweet666x0 Rats (who are tamed and know their humans) tend to not run away. They know we are their safety if anything happens. If I put my rats in my back yard and walk away the'd try their best to follow me.

@RoscoTheRat aww thats cute =) my rats do that too, i let them run around the entire bedroom and they just climb and go crazy but if im walking around my room,they follow my feet and try to climb up my legs. its like they wanna get stepped on lol so i just shuffle when theyre around. i think my rats are just spazzy and energetic so they go exploring by themselves but crap themselves when they hear the yogies bag crinkle lmao

Look, I love all animals, but there is something about rats that just makes my skin crawl. I shivered when I watched this, literally. Like a piss shiver. I don't understand when people say rats are just like squirrels, like in Inglourious Basterds. They are nothing alike. I watch the squirrels in my yard all day. They are so cool. But I would drop dead if I saw these things running across my lawn, haha.

@MckyMseNTarotCrds I'm a rat owner and I hear this argument a lot. They just creep some people out. I think that's largely because of association though. A lot of people think that rats are dirty, and that they carry diseases, but that's just not true. Rats are actually very clean animals, they clean themselves just like cats do, and they're potty trained. And the diseases thing is a stereotype from the bubonic plague a long time ago, and that was actually caused by fleas, not rats.

@MckyMseNTarotCrds Also, imo rats are among the smartest and most docile pets you can have. There's a reason they use them to run mazes and solve puzzles, and it's just not in their nature to bite. My cat has bitten/scratched me far more than my rats have. They've never shown any aggressive behavior. Honestly they're the perfect pet. Super cuddly, super intelligent and social and friendly, I don't know why people get their kids hamsters instead of rats.

@MckyMseNTarotCrds For most people it's the tail. Rat tails are scaly, this seems unnatural to some people. Whereas squirrel tails are giant fluffly monsters. Personally, I think my rats' tails are their best feature besides their whiskers.
