My neighbor had 5 kittens and a mother near his house that were just like this little kitten. We got them all and they went to the humane society. I feel kinda bad for taking them from their environment and home, but from this video I guess they will be better off. Its getting cold and they may not have survived.
awwww! Your lucky..we rescued a feral kitten about 10 weeks old running in the middle of a busy highway..she was so traumatized she didn't realize we had her..once she calmed down she is so scared and mean! it has been 3 days and no change in her..Do you have any tips? She bit us through our gloves and now I am terrified of her lol...Mine is in a lrge dog carrier, should I have a wire cage like you are using? Would that make a difference?
Wow, awesome! I LOVE that most feral kittens come around so quickly. One of my cats was captured at 8-9 months old. It took a month or 2 to gain her trust, for the most part. She was skittish for a bit longer. Now, she's 13yrs old and is my furry little shadow, purring at, literally, 24/7 .. even when I trim her nails. Do you know how hard it is to give oral meds to a purring cat?! ;)
wow, im impressed! we found a kitten who is very mean like she was. shelters wont deal with it and said it is best for me to try to tame. got a cage, this is day 1 really. seems like she might come around. need some thick gloves i think lol im scared it will bite me! i hope at some point i can let it out the cage to play. it doesnt understand right now
I am getting ready to embark on this journey. My boyfriend and I caught an orphaned feral kitten probably about a month old today who was living at his worksite (where he does electrical work all of the time, it's full of loud machines, no food, ect...) and I am waiting for Petco to open so I can go get a cage like you had. I am so excited to tame this little thing... I hope it goes as well as you! I am thinking about doing videos just like you did. Seems like a neat idea. :)
My two cats when they were kittens, I would make them sit on my lap and I would rub and pat them. Give them little treats. Now, they are a pair big sooks who jump on my lap on the louge chair outside and love all the attention they get.
She's great!! She went into another foster home, who ended up adopting her :-) She is apparently now a sociable, cuddly, playful, friendly girl with no fear!

Kittens of this age are usually pretty easy to socialize....it's also lots of fun to see 'em blossom like this right before your eyes!

congrats on taming her. I wish most shelters wouldn't give up on feral kittens or cats for that matter. it just takes time and patience.
