Snow Bikes really don't perform that well. I'm thinking with more HP they would work A LOT better... it's why sleds have 125HP at the track -150 off the crank.
These bikes start at around 50hp/35ft lbs torque... 25% of that HP/torque is sucked up to spin that big track, so there is not much left to roost all that heavy snow. Snow is a lot heavier and creates a ton of HP loss compared to a motard contact patch or a bit of mud.
You counter steer to help a street motorcycle lean throughout a turn. To me it did look like they were counter-steering, specially towards the end when they where racing. I posted the comment so that someone who actually had experience on one could tell me, not for people to make assumptions.
In a way, you do....It sounds to me like you don't even own or have ever ridden a street bike.
You could know the concept of riding from reading and watching videos, but you aren't going to fully understand it until you've actually ridden. I used to be the same way, thinking I understood everything about riding a motorcycle. It wasn't until I took the msf course and got my own bike that I was able to understand how things work.

Looks like fun but not so much in deep powder. But I bet you could get to places where a snowmobile wouldn't even try to go.

wow, I've never seen this before.
I wonder if steering works the same way to a bike with wheels.
alehax27 11 months ago
@alehax27 yup, exact same, just heavier, :)

@anonymouz79
Have you ridden one?
I wonder if you actually have to countersteer at all.
alehax27 11 months ago
@alehax27 No you wouldn't.

Again I get a reply from someone that's never ridden one....
alehax27 11 months ago
@alehax27 it is obvious. The reason you counter steer is because of the shape of the TIRE. These do not have tires the shape of a triangle.
