@kellycolburn1 In 2 billion years the sun will be 21% hotter, I think we may very well have moved on from this planet. And in 5 billion years, even if we manage to orbit milkomeda perfectly, we sure as hell better have moved on, this planet won't exist.
I like how he says it would be a "catastrophe" if earth were to be thrown into it. It wouldn't be a catastrophe it would just be an instant earth rape that we wouldn't even be able to acknowledge fast enough. And i guess if we were thrown out into space we would just freeze like instantly.
@TheMetalSgt Um, we'd still be orbiting our sun, we'd just be stranded as a lone solar system out in deep space.
And what the hell do you mean "instantly"? This isn't exactly light speed that we'd hit something, and if we ever do go into open orbit from the sun, we'll freeze in a couple days, not instantly. We DO have an atmosphere you know.
Who cares about what happens in 2billion years when CERN are going to create strangelets that turn negative in the next couple of years and change all the matter on earth into strange matter, destroying the planet...The same fate that has probably happened to many other intelligence life forms in our universe, Destroyed by their own curiousity...CERN play Russian Roulette with the planet but their projects are too big to fail? only a matter of time because Nuclear research destroys us all.
Im reading a lot of Bullshit here. They are 3 possibilitys not 2.
1.Get closer to the galactic center.
2.During the collision our solar system will be swept out 3 times farther from the core but stays in this new galaxy.
3.we get ejected from the galaxy but this event would have no adverse effect on the system and chances of any sort of disturbance to the Sun or planets themselves may be remote.
If Andromeda was moving towards the Milky Way, it means our galaxy is static(not moving). Dubinski should check the possiblity of the expanding universe and the possibility of our galaxy not static as such.
@pertown in the clip he mentioned the surpermassive black holes the one in the andromeda and in the milky way and i was disagreeing cause his comment stated the guy in the clip was talking about our sun but he wasnt and then i said that it wasnt and then explaine the whole thing to him soz
Fuck andromeda biatch. In two billion years, we could pwn that biatch if we charge a series of lasers a hundred thousand light years across for 5000 years, we could just blow the fucker away... probably not but still, would look awesome :D
The Human race would've fully established across many different galaxys terraforming planets along the way. If Earth still exits it'd be evacuted along with the rest of our galaxy with the knowledge of the destruction and yet again if Earth still exits then the most that will happen is that people with mourn its destruction from calling it "The Birth Place of Humanity."
do they really have these computers, you know like they show on tv...where a scientist pushes in a calculation and then he can see a visual of a galaxy?
1. Our sun is too small to go supernova or anything of that sort, it becomes a red giant -_-
2. Our sun does NOT lose all of its fuel in between now and 2 billion years, the collision would happen BEFORE the sun loses all its fuel.
3. Do you know how long a billion years is? If humanity (or whatever we have evolved into) cannot invent interstellar travel by then to get away from our sun, then shit.
4. We might even get pwned by global warming in this century
@ironknucles99 i dont get what you mean by ur #1, clearly locosjopos said we will get wiped out by Sol's supernova, WHICH CANNOT HAPPEN. Since he said sol, im pretty sure he IS talking about our sun, not 2 black holes, i dont even know where you got that from from his comment.
BBC, you could do way better then this. The simulations of the galaxies looks incredibly fake (why are there random explosions all over the screen?) , and a collision would be nothing like this. You would hardly notice it, there would be no 'great shockwaves'. The galaxies would just merge over millions of years.
The stars in galaxies are spaced so far apart that there would barely be any collisions. Collisions happen all the time, and planets aren't destroyed because of them, as shown here.
@sSketcha Hey boy! You went to school for this? You got a job for this? You study this? Is that a NO I feel coming on for these questions? Probably, so shut up and lets us believe what we want to believe. Don't you understand that they wouldn't study this for 100s of years for nothing?
The people, or person, that studies this are probably right. I just hate the fact that BBC documentaries always seem to over-dramatize just to make it seem more interesting. I think I should have made that more clear in my comment, so sorry about that.
3.11 to 3.31 can you imagine what the Earth is saying ? "F**K YOU BLACKHOLE! YOU AIN'T GOT SHIT ON MEEEeeeeeeeeeee..............." Splat! Lol ! ! ! I really need to get a job :-(
The music and narrator are so cheesy... they totally destroy the effect inspired by the event and the artist's rendition of it. Mute this one and play this while watching it
If the sun was thrown outside the galaxy, the earth and the other planets would follow alongside in their orbits, and for a few million years afterwards the sun itself would orbit the two galaxies as they converged. Then, when the two galaxies joined together, the sun, earth and the planets, would re-arrange themselves into the newly formed 'Andrilky Way'!
Oh fuck!!! COME ON!!! I'm already fucking creeped out that Stars are stalking us 24/7 able to kill us! Asteroids will kill us and now this!? Its like everything is ultimately doomed! So there is no such thing as a Perfect Spot planet!
Our universe is constantly expanding at a unimaginablly rapid rate. Black holes balance this effect in order to have life. If Black holes did not exist , our solar system and every other star you see in the sky would very quickly fade out of vision and drift into the constantly expanding nothingness. Black holes hold all spiral galaxys together. They are our anti - expansion device. They hold us in perfect balance. They are our friends.
LOL like we are still on the earth in 3 billion years. We are long gone by then to another planet... if we ever survive a nuclear war. We would have several colonies on distant planets. Or just living in space on a giant spacestation.
The time prediction is all wrong. Blacks holes are just theory. No real solid evidence of their existence exists. As for the galaxy collision, I can say is wrong too. It's estimated our Sun has 5.5 billion years left until it enters the Red Giant phase, which is how the end of our planet is to this date accurately going to end. All I can say is, if you're interested in black holes, don't confuse them with a threat to our planet.

@huneegee .... the present is the effect of a cosmic blast billions of years ago. Billions of years later another huge and big blast will form another chain of living creatures like us. And this will goes on and on in a cosmic cycle of birth, death and rebirth.
@Slumpnasty trust me...alot....a whole lot.it can end in 3 possible reasons the one you just saw or our black whole will get us....or or sun will die D:
Andromada's already what you could call Obese. It has sucked in another galaxy before, and it has two centres! So if Andromada 'eats the Milky Way', Could it get galactic heart disease? LOL
Funny, as far as I have heard when Milky Way and Andromeda collide, nothing will happen to Earth at all except we'll get some more stars in the sky since galaxies mostly consist of empty space.
How can he actually know this will happen? He could've had a wrong calculation in the text. What happens if the Andromeda galaxy looks like its going for us but it's going to turn. I have a theory, maybe a giant (I mean really BIG) Solar storm would happen with wind going thousands of km a second pushing the Andromeda gallacy into a nother galaxy. When they collide we should have popcorn in our left hand and coke in the right!
We have to win this, folks. We'll show Andromeda we know a thing or two about kicking asses. And then it will retreat in disgrace. Milky Way-Andromeda 1-0
3 BILLION years ? By that time we'll most likely be on another planets thousands of lightyears away, we'll have the technology to MOVE planets as we want to so the earth will be safe lol...
when 2 supermassive holes collide it create wormhole and the wormhole suck all the dragging space and time and it gonna lead everyone of us in diffrent time and only possible for stoping this is veryveryvery big matter like vaccum when we put our hands in it its stop. and this is true when the 2supermassive holes collide
it create a parallel universe which the time does not exist or neither that can i say.
if 2 black holes merge, then is there a chance of a paradox, as in, what if the black holes are wormholes, and they lead to different places in different times? would it duplicate matter? or could it just be split in half?
bukannya gas sahaja bahkan besi, bintang-bintang yang sudah tepu dengan logam akan tertarik kedalam lohong hitam tu,kemudian hancur, hasilnya logam di angkasa, rahmat buat alam.
Then, he's saying that by the year 3,000,002,010 there is a high possibility that the Earth will be gone....I wonder if people will actually write tike that the year number, there won;t be space as well :D
He left out the third option where instead of being on the outer rim or the inner rim we are just kinda on the side between and we just see a poorly animated fire works show.
Such a cruel irony that our planet should live for billions of years, before being blotted out of existence in the blink of an eye.
Xanadude575 5 days ago
0:15 "the andromeda galaxy is falling towards the milky-way."
this is awkward since the andromeda galaxy hast the most mass out of the two.
so couldn't it be that the milky-way is actually the one falling to the other?

when 2 supermassive holes collide it create wormhole and the wormhole suck all the dragging space and time and it gonna lead everyone of us in diffrent time and only possible for stoping this is veryveryvery big matter like vaccum when we put our hands in it its stop. and this is true when the 2supermassive holes collide
it create a parallel universe which the time does not exist or neither that can i say.
coder0091 1 year ago
@coder0091 i heared that in the center of galaxies most likely find black holes. now 2 galaxies and 2 black holes. that supports yuor theory

if 2 black holes merge, then is there a chance of a paradox, as in, what if the black holes are wormholes, and they lead to different places in different times? would it duplicate matter? or could it just be split in half?

verry funny they named it "hole"
better name it singularity.
matter is like a sponge, can press it tougehter
but matter is rubber like pressed together, the more pressed together, energy there is to expand.
when there is no more energy left to press it all together. there is only one posibility.
kaboom.

He left out the third option where instead of being on the outer rim or the inner rim we are just kinda on the side between and we just see a poorly animated fire works show.
