  • add2, nice

  • You know what? Not a perfect harmony, not terribly polished - but still worth watching and worth posting. I enjoyed it. Keep on keepin' on! Salute from Houston, TX.

  • Not barbershop. But nice. Too many unisons and non-barbershop chords to really be barbershop. Still, good attempt. For the record, I couldn't do any better. :P

  • I'm back. I'm not hearing enough separation to figure out the notes themselves. I assumed it was an add 9 chord before, but this time I hear another note that I cannot place. Too many notes sound right. Heck, what I'm hearing may be an overtone.

I'd love it if you (or someone with a better ear for this type of harmony) could tell me the notes on that last chord (and the chord right before that.)

  • the bass should have dropped down the octave after about 4 seconds on the last chord. would have sounded better. but i like a lot of bass in my acapella stuff.

  • no it's not

  • hay can u plzz tell me wat i need or how i can make a video like that were theres more then 1 video at once thanx godbless

  • Out of tune would mean he is either sharp or flat. I believe you are talking about the dissonance or clashing of notes. Don't be cruel if you dont know what you're talking about.

  • it seems that everybody likes the unresolved last chord. Me too!

  • that's what i think too

  • Colin Farrell!

  • The last chord was awesome. It sounds unresolved because of the approach. It's cool though, because it's a tag. And the subject matter is something that is unresolved itself. I think the word painting is really nice. You need to work on your releases though. The first time you sang knee was really ragged. Maybe you like it like that, but I think it should've been held a tad longer. Great job though.

  • the last chord was different, i just have a comment on the post. you did a good job of posting on "knee" but that is a tough vowel to post on that high. maybe you could try "banjo" or something to that effect with an easier vowel. good job though.

  • What software did you used? I really need this

  • That last chord is really interesting... But not in a bad way! Very unique. I like it a lot :-).

  • the 9th is perfect, very creative

  • That was really nicely arranged and sounded awesome.

It could have been out of Oh Brother, Where Art Thou or something.

  • It sounds cool; the reason that the 9th doesn't ring as well as is because it doesn't fit the overtone series like barbershop arrangements do. This is a nice 4-part chord; barbershop is just more effective because it sounds like more than 4 voices.

  • I think this is a great tag. Well done, and to resolve this "last chord" issue, the adding of the 9th adds much flavour and colour. I think the balancing of the voices could be tweak to even out the sound, but that's just being plain picky. Keep it up dude. Youtube needs more real music.

  • was pretty good, i think you should have emphasized on the last chord though, then it would have been perfect.

  • it was spot on, but still i think with the last chord you shouldve resolved via bringing the bari note down on knee

  • decent job. just so the other users know. that chord at the end is actually a 9th. nice ring to it. didn't sound incomplete at all. not very characteristic of barbershop though. (but i'm sure you already know that)

  • Everyone talking about that last chord, you're all nuts. I realize it's unconventional, but:

The first time I heard it I thought he messed up.

The second time, I thought it was out of sync.

The third time, I realized it was dead on, and laughed my ass off. Musical humor, even if unintended. Beautiful man.

  • hm

the last chord doesnt end it nicely.

it needs to be more sleek and go up!

    then it'll be better.

its cool to experiment, but this one ended in a blast,

    a bad blast

  • it be dissonance! gotta love it!

  • Don't listen to them! I love the sus2!

  • i really like the softness of your voice especially on the pedal note

  • I left this unresolved on purpose. At first I was going to resolve, but when I did the tag had less depth to it. It's my first tag I've written though. I'll resolve the next one.

  • @virtualbeck For me, it's not the lack of resolution, but the closeness of the chord. And, anyways, all resolutions are relative. I've resolved to a 9th chord quite often. But you got to do it from something really complicated.

  • it's nice. if you're trying to make a 9 chord, you must have the third. you can't end on a suspension, that's rude. :) good job

  • there is a third there, its just that the chord has the 9 as bass note, which is quite odd :D

  • you guys just have to know mike...he never likes to resolve. awesome job dude...i miss all you guys

  • Resolve the sus2, please

  • it's actually a 9th

  • Awesome tag....but you're killing me without resolving that last chord!

  • very good job

  • holy heck that sounds good, good work

  • YAY first comment...

I've been checking these out and they are good.

Best part of this one is def. the dissonance at the end... excellent!
