Hindsight is 20-20, yet, what if they had turned the landing light on in all this confusion. Maybe the had seen the reflection of the ocean to avoid the collision and get the true story of their altitude..RIP

It just goes to show how much pilots rely on their aircraft instruments and forget about the other solutions

First of all, the aroperu was taking off then ALL warnings was going loud and crazy making pilots less concentrate. Alarms like rudder ratio, too fast, too slow and too low alarms go crazy. When the pilots dont know what altitude they were, the wing touch the water. That's because the maintenance crew forgot to remove the tape in the altimeter sensors and other sensors after they cleaned it.

Birgenair Flight 301 had a block on the speed sensors, making the captain giving out fatal errors.

Investigators say that an insect blocked the pitot tube. The crew somehow has some time to stop on the runway, but they didnt for some stupid reason. The crew was bad at these situation. The first officers speed indicator was working on the whole entire time.
