I have lived all over the world but New Orleans is the true "there is no place like home." I love you Benny .You and your band make wonderful pictures and memories with your music.
New Orleans is my home and no matter what hard times get thrown at this city, it'll ALWAYS be my home. I'd live in a cardboard box in New Orleans before I'd live in a mansion anywhere else
I dont know of any other city that ppl hold in such high regards. I'm not even a new orleans native, but to watch this video even now brings me to tears. YEAH YOU RITE!
this song makes me cry so much new orleans just isnt the same i may be 19 and havent been around long but i have lived in N.O. my whole life but this song reminds me of when i used to go to my great grandmothers from time to time whom drowned in katrina and i cant get that back ppl can get their houses and cars and furniture and lots of things they lost in katrina back but i cant get my great grandmother back
I had heard the song a bunch of times, but never seen the video. I sat crying. It expresses exactly how I feel. Igrew up in Arabi, went to St. Louise, then Holy Angels. I bought a house in the same neighborhod I grew up in. My family and BFF were all in 'da Parish. I loved my life. Then came 8/29/05...
I grew up in Lakeview, went to St Dominic, then Jesuit, then off to college. Finally, I left town in 91, never looked back. that was before N.O. became the Chocolate City...I don't get back too much anymore, except to party wit dem Saints!
I moved away just a month before Katrina hit, and I miss home and with everyone so spread out, it's so hard. I still call it home, even as much as it's changed. Hopin' to move back in a few years! (my husband is military)
Made me cry... Love this video... I can still go over by my mom n nem, but it's at a new location, and never will be the same... Here's another soul still floating around since Katrina... Benny Grunch and friends always bring me back home... Love those guys.............. Joyce
Benny, thanks for the memories, I grew up on Center Street by Community Park and I will miss not being able to raise my kids in the same neighborhood I grew up in. Going to Arabi Food Store to get a Muffalatta, going to the levy to sit there and eat it as we watched the Natchez go by. God bless you and your families as we travel this long road together!

Trob,
I was a big fan of Frank when he did Radio Kitchen on Saturdays on WWL. Once I got to be on the show with Paul Prudhomme.
I was the amateur.

Oh that just made me cry and cry... I am up here in NY now. I think homesickness might be worse than cancer when there's no home to go back to.
