  • Listening to this song is a real heartbreaker. I wish we could go back to the way things were on August 28th, 2005. :'~(

  • Good video.

  • I have lived all over the world but New Orleans is the true "there is no place like home." I love you Benny .You and your band make wonderful pictures and memories with your music.

  • New Orleans is my home and no matter what hard times get thrown at this city, it'll ALWAYS be my home. I'd live in a cardboard box in New Orleans before I'd live in a mansion anywhere else

  • I dont know of any other city that ppl hold in such high regards. I'm not even a new orleans native, but to watch this video even now brings me to tears. YEAH YOU RITE!

  • this song makes me cry so much new orleans just isnt the same i may be 19 and havent been around long but i have lived in N.O. my whole life but this song reminds me of when i used to go to my great grandmothers from time to time whom drowned in katrina and i cant get that back ppl can get their houses and cars and furniture and lots of things they lost in katrina back but i cant get my great grandmother back

  • This is sad!

  • Carolyn Park & Buccaneer Villa my whole life till 2005.... This song nails it. Cry every time I hear it. "You can't no 'mo" ......

  • <3

  • New Orleans, Born & raised from the 9th ward area. Ever since Nagin, Katrina & Jindal, the city has never been the same.

  • the song is touching.

  • i hated Katrina!!!! screw dat hurricane i had to move!!!

  • oh mais non, chere, this video make me cry!

    :-(

  • I had heard the song a bunch of times, but never seen the video. I sat crying. It expresses exactly how I feel. Igrew up in Arabi, went to St. Louise, then Holy Angels. I bought a house in the same neighborhod I grew up in. My family and BFF were all in 'da Parish. I loved my life. Then came 8/29/05...

  • I grew up in Lakeview, went to St Dominic, then Jesuit, then off to college. Finally, I left town in 91, never looked back. that was before N.O. became the Chocolate City...I don't get back too much anymore, except to party wit dem Saints!

  • Good video.

    Shed a tear

    Its all about lifeinneworleans

  • Love this song!

Every year when I put up my christmas tree with my family, we listen to the bunch but this song always hits me hard.

  • Yeah, you rite!

  • Wow! That surely did hit home. Literally. My family is scattered all over and it's just me left in "Da Parish"

  • This makes me miss Chalmette even more.

Look at the radio at 3:21. It was preset to WTIX the mighty 690!

  • This is one of the biggest things i miss most about not being home FRANK DAVIS!!!!

  • Trob,

I was a big fan of Frank when he did Radio Kitchen on Saturdays on WWL. Once I got to be on the show with Paul Prudhomme.

    I was the amateur.

    Frank

  • Great video - made me homesick. Had some audio problems though. Is it on your end or mine?

  • I moved away just a month before Katrina hit, and I miss home and with everyone so spread out, it's so hard. I still call it home, even as much as it's changed. Hopin' to move back in a few years! (my husband is military)

  • Oh, and I wanna see a video or get a copy of the "Temporarily Ain't Dere No More.. Where cna I find that?

  • Oh that just made me cry and cry... I am up here in NY now. I think homesickness might be worse than cancer when there's no home to go back to.

  • i'm so sorry.

  • Made me cry... Love this video... I can still go over by my mom n nem, but it's at a new location, and never will be the same... Here's another soul still floating around since Katrina... Benny Grunch and friends always bring me back home... Love those guys.............. Joyce

    center st. 70032

  • Benny, thanks for the memories, I grew up on Center Street by Community Park and I will miss not being able to raise my kids in the same neighborhood I grew up in. Going to Arabi Food Store to get a Muffalatta, going to the levy to sit there and eat it as we watched the Natchez go by. God bless you and your families as we travel this long road together!

  • St. Claude Heights; Dr. Accomando was the best principal at the school. Thanks Frank & Benny.

  • Miracle Motors on Airline Highway just past the Airport, gone two years after Katrina.

  • Thanks Benny for another great video. You can take the girl away from New Orleans but love for the city still remains. I can't go back to my old home but I still have my memories!

  • I grew up listining to your band. I grew up in Lakeview and my dad would take us to Jager's on the Lake every weekendand about 90% of the time you were there. My dad was a big tipper haha. When I first heard this song it bought a tear to my eye I wanna come home so bad. Well thanks for the song and memories.
