At first yes, as a person that starts out will find it hard to control their upper body to get that extra rotation, so relying on the kick first will make it easier to get the move, then improve on it.
Are there any requirements to be able to preform a G-Flash? I've recently started with tricking, and I'm not able to preform a normal backflip yet. Should I ignore attempting to learn a normal backflip and go for the G-flash straight away or should I go for the backflip first?
It was because the sand took all my bounce, I was leaving like 2 inch deep divots in the sand every time I jumped lol. I landed like 1 on the sand pretty poorly, gutted that we didn't get a grass session in this year.
Nah. A cheat gainer goes over to the side and looks like a semibackflip turn semisideflip twisty think. It's supposedly easier but I can't do them. They're useful for learning corks, but the same principle applies if you want to learn them.
you kick as hard as you can to do that gainer ???

Well being comfortable with going over your head and stalliing a little always help, but I wouldn't have thought it was a neccessity =]
Just so you know, the technique is harder to get than a backflip ;)
