  • so pretty going to make these for my girls

  • Awesome!

  • Def going to try this thanks whitney..really like watching your tutorials

  • "You will need.. a shiny fabric that burns well..." Not a sentence one hears every day on sewing tutorials. =D Great video though, thank you! I had no idea what lollipop flowers were before this.

  • I have a lot of that type of fabric left, I am totally doing this later today!!

  • Those are so pretty!

  • this is a good idea! the burned edges really give it a nice effect

  • This is really neat. How do you come up with such creative ideas? You are the best.

  • @peepgal Aww thanks! I get ideas from all over the place...sometimes I'm inspired by something I see in a photo or a store and then I create my own version. Other times I create things out of neccessity :)

  • Maaan, I was expecting some candy.

    Great tutorial, anyways. Haha.

  • @jerichomattt Hehe I love candy! Hadn't thought about how the title might not make sense to people who have never seen this type of flowers.

  • OMG i knew i love this i am defiently going to put on a boring shirt of mine!

  • I love these! They're so cute, I'm definately trying it out :)

  • So cute and pretty! <3

  • LOVE THESE~MY 13 YEAR OLD AND I ARE GOING TO MAKE THEM FOR HAIR ACCESORIES!

    THANK YOU

  • @jessicaisnumberone Thanks, i will! :)

  • Great Tute! I've made these and a nice variation is to make all the circles the same size, then sew them together off-center, so they kind of fan out.

  • Beautiful!!! TFS

  • You are always so helpful and make the most fantastic video tutorials! <3333333

  • What types of fabric would be good to burn?

  • @citypenguin Satins.

  • @citypenguin Polyesters or other synthetic materials are best. Silks and natural fibers tend to burn and scorch rather than slightly melt and curl. I've found lining fabrics work well -- and are super cheap! :)

  • Great tutorial! One thing, though...cutting the corners off of squares makes octagons, not hexagons! :) Once I get a lighter, I'll definitely try this out on some red and white fabric...I think combining the two would be nifty.

  • @stormyberetta Yeah, I realized that as soon as I said it...but was too lazy to go back and edit it out.

  • @aglanceatmyworld

    Haha...Nice.

  • I love these and would make them excpet for the fact that my mom won't let me buy a lighter. I need it for a few projects right now but she keeps telling me anything i need to use a lighter for I can use a match. But I would burn myself quite badly with a match.

  • @billkaulitzluvagirl You could try using a candle...that's what I did when my last lighter ran out of fluid. You still have to be really careful...but it works :)

  • @aglanceatmyworld That's actually a really good idea! Thanks!

  • Cute

  • very cute flowers! im going to favorite this video so that i try it later! :)

  • Lovely tutorial.... I love lollipop flowers... They are so pretty!

  • Lovely flowers!

    HUgs,

    Zoe

    Crafty X

  • Very cute!

  • I love the look of the red one! It looked really cool with the black and red together. I will have to try this one day.

  • @miamismartgirl Thanks! I made a red flower with a black button in the center for a gal and it was super cute! (She was thinking of using them for wedding boutonnières)

  • Very cool. The pieces totally look like rose petals to me. I could see how this could work for a few different projects and looks aside from the just the lollipop flowers. I bet the lollipop flowers would look adorable on a headband. Going to make my daughter one. Thanks.

  • @aprilbutterfli I think headbands would be super cute! :)

  • Very cute!! I love making these and the burning part is my favorite part!:)

Thanks for sharing Whitney!:) Keep up the great job!:)

  • @gothictany73 Hehe the burning part is definitely fun :) Glad you liked the tutorial!

  • Great video! They turned out very cute!

  • @TriciaCrafts Thanks :)

  • very nice :D, I did this ones to embellish a gift for a friend, but it came out in kind of oval shapes, it was not perfect, but she liked it very much :P

  • @PTuinman Cool! That's ok if it turns out a little out of shape...real flowers aren't perfect. And with any DIY I think it's the thought and effort that goes into it that really counts :)

  • Great instruction!

  • @yoliebean Thank you!
