Damn...... I've ALWAYS wished that this recording kept goin until JIMI finished jammin on the final guitar solo... you can hear him goin back up into the clouds at the very end!! I'd be willing to bet anything that he kept wailing for a few minutes. Too much passion for average ears to handle.
I always liked Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon but I've always had this nagging thought about Jimi Hendrix that Pink Floyd stole his show. I don't really know why but Money and Time very well could have been Jimi Hendrix songs just in relation to what I call fate. The saxophone the keyboards the lead guitar. Eclipse and Bold as Love finish to me end the album identically. Axis in the Sky on Sunday's. lol
This guy changed it all. Nobody has been able to bring it back yet. Janes addiction came close. But he was a one man force. Drugs and all. He was the Motzart of the modern era.
Some perspective on what Jimi did for music. Top 10 on Billboard for 1967, the year this album came out: 1.To Sir With Love, Lulu 2. Light My Fire, The Doors 3. Windy, The Association 4. Ode To Billie Joe, Bobbie Gentry 5. The Letter, The Box Tops 6. Daydream Believer, The Monkees 7. Somethin' Stupid, Nancy Sinatra And Frank Sinatra 8. Happy Together, The Turtles 9. I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Gladys Knight &The Pips 10. Incense And Peppermints, Strawberry Alarm Clock
@kathmandoo it actually bring a climax over another climax more than 2 times, he push it and then push it more and more and explode and keep pushing again....unique.
Hear the rocket flare nestled in the drum break?

I think this one of the best solos he ever did - it just builds to a great climax - and what a great guitar tone!!
