@nixter888 Solon was a poet and a politician not an historian. Very little of his work survives. As far as I know the story of the Egyptian priest is told by Plato in his Atlantis Dialogues. There is no trace of a Flood legend in Egyptian religion or in surviving texts, nor does archaeology or geology support a Flood in Egypt. The fact that a Greek said a priest told him something is not evidence since there is no textual or archaeological evidence to back up the story. So, no Flood in Egypt.

@nixter888 I didn't say there was never a Flood; I said there was never one in EGYPT. The Black Sea Flood is quite well known by now and is thought to be responsible for the Flood legends in the middle east.

I only mentioned him because his claims about Abraham teaching astronomy and mathematics to the Egyptians are made without any proof, just as the Greek writers you quote are also making claims without any proof. In fifth century BC Herodotus was told by Egyptian priests that the Greeks owed many aspects of their culture to the older civilization of the Egyptians. Egyptian priests told Diodorus some of the same stories four centuries later.

@nixter888 There WERE no books as we know them in ancient Egyptian and Babylonian times or anywhere else, there were only Papyrus texts and inscriptions. The earliest Greek writings are Mycenaean using Linear B and date from after 1600 BC. There are much older texts from Egypt, Babylon and Sumeria. The Greek alphabet came from the Phoenicians and the Greeks added vowels to it which was very useful. As for achievements in Egypt can I mention the Pyramids and in Babylon the star charts ?

Athens didn't come to prominence until the first millennium BC so it's nonsense to say it is older than the Egyptians.. Heliopolis was built long before there were any 'Greeks'. I prefer to read Egyptian texts to learn the history of Egypt not Greek texts. Hermes is the Greek version of Thoth. You should do more reading if you want the true picture.

@nixter888 Solon was a poet and a politician not an historian. Very little of his work survives. As far as I know the story of the Egyptian priest is told by Plato in his Atlantis Dialogues. There is no trace of a Flood legend in Egyptian religion or in surviving texts, nor does archaeology or geology support a Flood in Egypt. The fact that a Greek said a priest told him something is not evidence since there is no textual or archaeological evidence to back up the story. So, no Flood in Egypt.

@nixter888 There WERE no books as we know them in ancient Egyptian and Babylonian times or anywhere else, there were only Papyrus texts and inscriptions. The earliest Greek writings are Mycenaean using Linear B and date from after 1600 BC. There are much older texts from Egypt, Babylon and Sumeria. The Greek alphabet came from the Phoenicians and the Greeks added vowels to it which was very useful. As for achievements in Egypt can I mention the Pyramids and in Babylon the star charts ?

Demetrius in his treatise "People of the Same Name", and Antisthenes in his treatise "Succession", says that Democritus travelled to Egypt for the purpose of his education and he received the instruction of the Priests for 5 years.

Diodorus writes only that Egyptian priests claim Orpheus visited them in earlier times and Diodorus says Orpheus actually introduced into Greece certain Egyptian customs. According to Egyptian myths it was Thoth who introduced writing. Orpheus is recorded as studying in Egypt in the time of Ramses II so how could he invent Egyptian letters? Where is this chest?

We know very little about the cultures that produced these paintings but to jump to staggering conclusions about what they intended is very foolish. There is nothing wrong in saying we don't know what they represent at the moment. Reserve judgement on everything until unassailable proof comes along, such as discovery of an ancient rocket.

Many ancient caves have paintings of what is called 'hybrids' and they are not just centaurs. Guys.....I am afraid that some global extinction event is comming our way and that the chemtrails and other strange activities like secretive underground building by many nations in the world are attempts to reduce the casualties.
