I found the G Perms as easy as all the other algorithms, all of my algorithms hold the "headlights" on the left side, and I just look for where the pair in the back is held...
I really don't think their that difficult to recognize one of them I have never used yet but I know (cause I always do the left handed version of another G perm) I just made myself a system to remember them.
how can you get to a g-permutation? i can solve the cube like jessica fridrichs method, and lars petrus' method, but i almost never get into these cases, can someone explain?
great video's i've got 17 learned but the g ones i dont get what does the y' stand for?. Once i egt that info i can learn all the g perms, thanks again
oh these are perms crazy i started to notice the many times that ive done it the same patters will come up with like to colors on the left and right side towards the font its crazy i really have to learn
the algorithms i use are on bob burton's alg page.
to recognize them, i look for the two same color corners and put them on the "L" face. then i see where the 1x1x2 block is. If its on the "B" face, do alg. # 14. If the block is on the "F" face, do alg. # 15. If the block is on the upper right of the "R" face do alg. #16. If the block is on the lower right of the "R" face do alg. # 17.
Ya. cubewhiz(.)com makes the G perms some of the easiest to spot. Like you said, permute the 1x2 block so it's solved, then rotate the cube so the two matching corner stickers are on the L face, and the resulting location of the 1x2 block will tell you which perm to use. I use Back, Front, Back Right, and Front Right to remember the algs.
whats lower case mean again? I forgot

just how do u think how did peeoples get a time average of around 10 secs in 3x3x3? its just not only about fionger tricks....
they used to memorize every kind of permutations and when chance comes, they will use it to complete the cube in a sudden..

21 algs?...ill stick with the basic algs haha thanks

Y is when you rotate the cube left or right, X is when you rotate it towards or away from you.
ruff48 3 years ago
okay, but what the hell does "w" mean? like in the G's on bob buton's page? example: (R'2 Uw' R U') (R U R' Uw R2) y (R U' R')
redflame183 2 years ago
that means a double layer turn. So Uw basically means u.
ruff48 2 years ago
@redflame183
Just in case, within the last year you didn't find this out,
It stands for wing I think. Upper wing meaning the first two U layers.

isn't a lower case u the same as d?
mexicanmex 3 years ago
It's the same as a D, then turning the cube clockwise (I think the notation is Z, I'm not sure).
wiidumdumpop 3 years ago
u = D y
u'= D'y'

Another very easy recognition that I use is to look if the corner or edge near the block either both or none is of opposite colour

i just find the block and then look at the corner next to the block, whether it is opposite or not
philkt731 4 years ago
Unfortunately that vid didn't help me too much because you were saying "the one where..." all the time, and it confused me.
Maybe we should name them and then it would be easier to differentiate between them.

i found out a much easier way, no offense. haha
the algorithms i use are on bob burton's alg page.

so thats the way i recognize which G perm to use.
Azian77 4 years ago
I do this too. Seems much easier than the way in this video.
