Yes Ten floundered during their previous days of '10 TV Australia' with their american chief exec creating flops such as 'Family Double Dare' and unsuccessfully reincarnating shows like Hinch, A Country Practice, the Price is Right (with Ian Turpie)and SuperQuiz (that time with Mike Walsh).
Haha i remember that.. our family used to tape movies when they showed on tv including the channel logo at start, i'm sure we taped a couple on channel 10 around that time. Nowadays buy cheap dvds, problem solved.
During 2002-2011 TEN was known as "the afl network". Now not anymore.

This was not the time Ten was sagging. This was after the sag, when they went lean, mean, youth-targeted.
