  • Damn this guy don't quit! So glad he has lessons up.

  • Tering touwtje!! Te wouw!!

  • love to see jason dance and play it rocks hope to see him live soon!

  • how come there are so few people at their shows? :/

  • I cannot understand how someone can play harmonica that fast :/ I want not to be jealous, but I just can't help myself.

  • the is friggin awesome!

  • Unbelievably underrated performance and player. Give the guy a bone, or two.

  • Who's he doing nowadays ?

  • this guy is incredible along with Jon Gindick, Gussow, and R. Shellist .... best place to hang out.

  • I say its very nice...

  • Brilliant!

  • how could you dislike this video

  • This is something like "harmonica heavy metal"... you either like or you don't

  • One of the Best JRNB videos on Youtube. Thanks Adam.

  • even when Jason plays slow notes it's just fast notes just strung together in a way that seems slow.

  • True. Jason and Bird both do this.

  • @KudzuRunner Never heard that before, interesting.

  • @KudzuRunner Who is Bird, Adam? I'm trying to recall....

  • @stuijn LOL, Charlie Parker maybe ? ;)

  • @szaman69 ahhhh haha! Thanks!

  • great instruments, great vocals, feel too

  • If you look really, really, close you'll see sparks jumping from his harmonica.

  • @blowingharp :O

  • talent!!!!!!!!!

  • I am from NE Pennsylvania and they played a blues festival an hour or 2 west of me a while back. The worst decision that I ever made was to decide to pay my rent and not be able to go see these guys. Gas was like $3.99/gal and 1 1/2 hrs in a little pickup was too expensive. Dammit. I always say though if Adam Gussow ever makes the trip back to Philly or even NYC to play I wouldnt miss that for a years rent. Adam can stop making youtube videos today and the contribution he has made

  • to the love of blues(all music for that matter)topeople like me is quite possibly priceless.I buyan album or a lesson and it still seems like I am robbing him.I thank people like you the only way I know how.Keep listening and spread the "gospel"(a better word escapes me).You cant buy inspiration. If I ever make my way down south, way down,I will look for a show or street festival.I really enjoy your music and Jasons too.Not to sound redundant but thankyou for youtube videos. You cantbuy inspiration

  • I think he did stop making video's. He said that a couple of months ago.

  • I have followe this band for 5 years. I think the reason people in the audience aren't freaking out is because Jason, Shawn and Todd put you in a trance with their phenominal musicianship. If you move you will miss something! You are left stunned, speehless and out of breath, but you haven't moved an inch!

GO SEE THIS BAND even if you have to fly to do so...which I've done!

  • You forgot Ed, what is he chopped liver back there?

  • I have seen this band with many drummers and yes, I did forget Ed. So, sorry Ed! Ed is the cutest dummer the guys have had and very good, but not the best drummer they have had.

  • Wow, utterly ridiculous all the way around. How is the audience not freaking out?

  • I'm not sure. They should have.

I've recently been experimenting with fast 16th-note runs of the sort Jason's doing here. (In fact, he showed me a few back in 2000.) I use a metronome. I'm able to do certain patterns at a speed of 120; that's fast. I haven't checked his time here, but he's going quite a bit faster than that. My plan is walk into a bar about fifty years from now, when I can play all his stuff, and surprise the hell out of him...

  • ... Of course, I'll be trailing bits of Spanish Moss at that point, , and there will be the slight problem of how to get the lid off my coffin. Still, never say never!

  • They're cooking. It's like 132.

Hey man, you don't need 16th note runs to impress anyone. In my amateurish view, every blues player has a secret weapon, Jason's, for example being his fast and even playing, and Butterfield's being his fast triplets. Yours is that ridiculously controlled blue third and how "blue" you choose to make it.

  • Thanks. Believe it or not, you've made my day.

  • @KudzuRunner I do think you need quite an airtight harp to avoid that some of the riffs simply sound like 'glissandos'. Your out of the box harps might not do the trick anyhow...

  • Is Shawn Starski Jasons usual guitarist?

  • Yes, he's a key part of the act. They've been a team for a few years now.

  • Holy crap dude, I would give my left nut to play half as good as you.

    SICK!!

  • I could do that...NOT :)

  • Perfect Guys :-)

  • I practice my downhill ski leg postions to this one while pretending I'm sliding really fast.

    Mellow, Man!

  • Jesus Maria! IHe sounds like Morrison.

  • 5:00 just for Ed.

    More weed.

    More ed.

  • Me thinks yer blowin' yer top when you really wanna mellow down eeeeeeeeeeeeeeazzy. Tone your boyz down... they're overpowering you volume-wise. You da star. Is that a Whoopi Goldberg T Shirt? Never seen one of them before! You're amazing... Keep up the great sounds.

  • Adam- It was awesome to be able to sit in with you, Jimi, Allen, Jon and Cheryl back at halloween....I was on top of the world. But now to hear what Jason is doing is so demented, I feel like flushing my harps down the toilet. Jason, I can't wait to see you, live, in Williamsburg VA this April....Do you give private lessons to advanced players while your traveling? I would be very interested in a one on one with "The Master" Just name your price. It would be worth every penny to me. Mike in VA
