  • Why are people complaining about the speed he's working? He should not work faster, because they probably had the time and didn't need to rush thing, and there is actyally a guy inside too that have to stuff the bags in there. It's like a fuckin' tetrisgame in there.

  • this is normal, dont worry.

  • @chris1978nl Unfortunately it is normal.

  • Who gives a shit?

  • how do these cunts get hired?

  • What a small world! Everyone on here seems to mysteriously know each other...

  • Really, this is stupid.

It DOES NOT take that much more time to put a bag down then throwing it in the air. maybe 0.5 seconds dude. Just by putting it down, doesnt have to be gently. Just put it down. And you wouldn't get this much shit from people. Or do you dont care about others stuff AT ALL? The biggest careface ever? Then you sire, truly are a horrible person.

  • Why? because you never did a jo like this!!

  • Stop crying for this stupid moron which is loading the luggage into the plane! Wtf, when he got hired there he knew what his job is all about! What he does in the clip show that 1) he does not have the brains the understand that he can make his job easier without being a jerk; 2) maybe he is having a much too good pay for the shitty job he is doing! I really hate this morons which are damaging the people's luggage just because they are not smart enough to get another more satisfying job!

  • andrei try loading a bloodying 737-800 sunwing and gently lay 200+ bags on a belt on a quick turn, u wanna be delayed? hes not slamming em. u wanna leave on time? i suggest u leave the work to the workers and u just sit back and make sure we really dont SMASH em

  • SAMSONITE hard cases are the dogs bollocks. Get one of those. Why do you think most cabin crew have them. Almost unbreakable and the contentsare safe to. Now and again though some idiot decides to polish them so they just slip thru your hands...oh dear. Seriously though i aggree with most of the replies here....this is not too bad a treatment atall. And do you think that you pay more for the weight you wish to carry so the bag bitch treats it better? more like the fuel the extra wieght uses

  • do you have that person's permission to film him in his work?

From A baggage handlers at Arlanda

  • its not that bad ive seen alot worse

  • Someone tell him it's not going to flood...

  • So far I have seen alot of videos of how baggage handlers treat passengers bags. Well, how baggage handlers treat luggage is nothing compared to how airport sorting machines treat bags (Those machines put around 200lbs of force on bags).

Simple rule is pack light, and keep your fragile crap out of your check luggage. And just remember if you can barely lift your own bag, don't expect someone to treat it with kid gloves.

  • Bags are to heavy. you need to pack lighter.

I had 70 LBS suitcase fall on my hand in aircraft belly a few days ago.

Ive been at my airline for 19 years. My hand was almost crushed. Had to file IOD {ingery On Duty} for the first time.

I can pack a suitcase for a vacation for a month that only is 30 LBS.

You dont need everything on vacation..

    Please learn to pack light.

The body you save is the one loading your bag and staking it in the belly!!

  • This guy is my neighbour! He's name is Marcus, :D

  • @UppsalaBaronen really

  • @ExpertPlane101 Yeah, he's also my best friend. :)

  • that's why it is recommended not to put raw eggs on the luggage....lol,,,,,,,,,,seriously if you put fragile items on your luggage then its your fault....you can't expect your luggage to be handled graciously at the airport....heck any packaged item for mail as well.......................

  • I don't see anything abnormal here just a guy doing his job and trying to load the plane while he's protecting his back from lifting all bags. People that don't work here don't know a thing about this

  • word. the real action is in the bin :D

  • this aint nothing the real action is in the cargo pit the guy stacking your bags hahaha

  • he he...heee, well we have a lot of experts here, let´s listen to the guys who have seen the work been done.... .... or just listen to the once who actually do this as their jobs. i would not listen to some guys who have done som math in their heads;) cuse it´s more to it then the eye sees. (oooh got kind of deep there)

  • I work at Arlanda as a luggage handler, de-icer, lavatory car- driver and much much more.

And I can tell you guys who complaining about how we handle your bags! Damn if your bag was broken, just go to the helpdesk and they pay you a new one, but how about our backs!? When a bage usually wheighs over 45-50lbs, you simply can´t be carefull with it!

And I can only talk for myself when I say that I treat a lighter bag more carefull then a heavy bag! :P

  • a los que hablan mal, seguramente ustedes lo haríais igual o peor,to that they speak bad, surely you would make equal or worse

  • Andrei, I can understand how you see it but honestly, he is not treating the bags wrong. He doesn't slam them, he doesn't drop them very hard.

But if you want us to gently put down each bag, then the price of your ticket will be far higher because we will need a lot more workers on the ground.

  • if you understand by "very hard" dropping a bag from 10 meters indeed, he doesn't drop them very hard.

i did some sport in my life and i know that lifting a weight an extra 20 cm involves some extra effort. that`s what i don`t understand about you guys (and the guy in the film)-> he could just bring the bags from the cart to the belt, they are at the same level, but he lifts them and slams them onto the belt

    WHY?

  • i admit that my bag was about 25 kg and the tag tells that (mine was the blue one with the orange tag, second one from the bottom on the right) but the other bags where under 15, 10 kg even and the guy still lifts them way up and slams them....

    WHY?

  • @andrei792001

Im a baggagehandler at Copenhagen Airport and i can understand why you are wondering. This guy is working harder, not smarter. Thats his choice. But he isnt handling the bags more rough than the automatic baggage sorting system at the airport.

What i wonder is why he doesnt put the handles forward to make things easier for the guy stacking the bags inside the plane.

  • lifting them involves a longer distance that he comes in contact with the bag, that leads to a longer time in contact with the bag, that means a longer time to load the plane, so WHAT are you thinking? "if i lift this thing higher, i`m moving it quicker!"?

    it doesn't make any sense.

    please explain it to me!

  • I guess it's kind of hard to explain to someone who hasn't loaded a plane himself.

First of all, he is not slamming them, hes just dropping them down.

Second of all, he lifts them a little higher then the belt because he don't want the bag to get slammed into the belt while he lifts it, cause then he will drop it.

And third, as you can see is "swinging" the bag to get it up and you do that because it's easier on your body och don't affect the bags.

The sorting systems kills the bags anyway.

  • Strange, I Prague, when workers don't get enough salary were loaded plane witount andy droping. I saw it.

And actualy I don't think that all this airport staff get low salary! - so, if they will move carefully all luggage it will not change any ticket price!

  • Are you a baggage loader at Arlanda Airport? No? Then don't talk about our salary.

And no, if we actually would be putting EVERY bag down carefully we would have to quit the job after 2 weeks because our backs would be dead by then.

Just give it a try. Then talk.

  • @sleinad17 Or you can go do your job properly because next time i see you handling my bags like that, i will get off the plane and shove my fist up your ass and then carry on to slamming you against the loading trolley, so you personally know how it feels to be dropped very hard, douche.

  • @shadowblack1987 or no you wont...cause airport security wont let you get off the plane. dumbshit, and not all guys like being fisted so maybe you can just keep that shit in your bedroom bitch.

  • @thenyismylove I know you like it when guys fist you faggot, but i won't be the one doing it to you since i know you are already someone's else little bitch.

Now get back to the kitchen woman.

  • @shadowblack1987 no i do not like being fisted are you blind or just retarded? maybe both...who knows. maybe you can just fist something else instead of trying to hook up via youtube. i know there has to be somebody out there for you...dont give up but you dont even know me. and by the way i dont swing that way. good luck in your search for a screw buddy.

  • @sleinad17 It's more or less just clothing in there, and proabbly other items packed in together amongst clothing. Besides, you guys have dozens of planes a day to unload and load. This is an acceptable "throwing". They're thrown nicely... Like we all would in the end of the day :)

  • @sleinad17 um no obviously hes a lazy fuck he spends about 10 seconds waiting in between each bag he could easily handle them better than that. all the dropping is unnecessary. also if he did it properly he would do it faster and waste less energy. he is a moron. probably a redneck that hates his job. and a lazy couch potatoe at home. im 16 and i could do the job faster and better than that prick.

  • @originxnovice You probably could, but for how long? How many years do you think you can last before you get problems with your back? The waiting between bags is because of the guy inside that have to load the bags inside. You need some time to place them in a good way if there is much to load.

You're obviously 16, and you don't know shit about bagagehandling.

  • The third bag put on the belt is the only one that seems to be treated unnecessarily harsh, if all of them were like that one you'd have a point.

  • andrei, the belt and the cart is not the same height. I work there myself, so I know.

No handler treat bags bad just because they want to. Maybe if a bag weighs about 60kg, but then it deserves to be smashed.

If you think that is abuse, I suggest that you contact your local airport and handling company. I'm sure they would be happy to arrange a "try out" day for you.

  • the companies allow 20 kg per bag on a continental flight... that the passenger pays for, and expect to find his luggage intact at the end ... apparently is too hard not to slam the bag onto that damn belt after lifting it an extra 30 cm so i can get my luggage intact ...

not talking about putting it onto the belt without it scratching the sides and ripping the zippers until it becomes useless ...

  • The belt he drops your bag on is made of pretty soft elastic rubber.

Unless your bag is made of really thin hollow glass, that is most likely not where and why it will break.

  • me as a passenger pay for my ticket that include luggage, and i pay for the extra weight in my luggage, and while some people expect me to do my job write for the pay i receive, i expect from you the same... i don`t have a budget for a new bag each trip i take just because "it`s such a tough job, let`s see u do it"

there is a wrong way and a write way to do this and i think this guy is doing it wrong!

  • You just don't realize how things work in an airport. The guy in the video is handling the luggage like he should. If something must brake in your luggage, it will be broken by the sorting system before any handler will touch your luggage. If you want to complain go to the airline not Youtube. Also, stop filming ground handling crews, they're doing the job fast for you to fly cheap.

  • I am a ground handler and i respect you because you are teaching some people how fast and difficult our job is. Thanks. Imagine you guys workings in a 3 ft hold packing 200 or more bags.

  • @andrei792001

All handlers in almost all airports of the world do it the same way... that's why your luggage case MUST be durable. If you want them to treat your luggage a little bit differently, just ask for a fragile tag at the check-in counter.

  • @andrei792001 One simple answer, those are usually or low qualified or temporary workers and they dont give a damn about our luggage..

It wont change until a person who can afford it will make a serious complaint or sue one of the companies because of poor baggage handling and the people who do that will have to meet serious consequences - wich could be a relatively high penalty and of course loosing the job..

  • What he is doing is standard and not abuse. Good luggage should withstand harsh handling and that's nowhere near harsh. Ground handlers don't have the time to handle carefully each luggage.

  • And that's why you don't put anything brakable in your luggage....... Thats what happened to my bag.

  • we are given 45 minutes to offload and load all bags, and do that and still there's a supervisor that keep yelling in your ear to go faster. You know what, let all the complainers switch with us for 1 day and see and feel what we feel

  • i do not see anything special in this vid... those guys handle up to 600pieces of bags every day so you cant gently place them all on the belt.. and not only bags, cargo and mail also. It would be nice to know how many kilos they handle on their normal shift.

  • if you load approximatly 5 airplanes in one shift with about 60 bags(counting low) weight about 20 kilos/bag. That´s 350 bags and total weight well you do the math and add that it not that spacious in the belly of an aircraft - been there done that

  • they dont have to slam them like that.

if you look closely you can see that the guy throws some bags (i am sure that those weigh about 10 kg, 15 max), but they allmost drag the really heawy.

mine was 26 kg and the guy struggled with it, ok i understand that, but why did he treat the rest of them like that, the cart and the belt where at the same height, but he chose to lift them and then slam them, for a 60 bags per plane and 5 planes per day, thats an absolutely unneccesary weight lifting.

  • in one "turnaround" incoming load can be up to 2000kg's and outgoing the same... usually there is 2 to 4 guys in team, thats lots of kg's. And the turnaround time is pretty short so you do as quick as you can. its like running 100m with 20kg's weights on your hands and legs. =)

  • if i do a little math, it`s a lot less effort to just pick up the 2000 kg`s from the cart and put them onto the belt instead of lifting them the extra 30 cm like this guy and after that slaming them ... it`s all i`m saying, he is working out on our expence, not doing his job as quiqly and easy as he can...

  • Mackan det där ser ju riktigt bra ut det där ;)
