Where is the Microphone placement on this recording? I'm trying to get the same sound but when I record it, it sounds like a tin can :( I hate being an amature. BTW I am using the standard position slightly off center to the middle of the speaker and I am using a shure beta 57a mic....
@wolfos412 Try a Sennheiser 421. Those things are buttery smooth. I use them on gutars, toms, and saxophones. It's quite nice. Also, playing around with placement of the mic makes all the difference in the world. Have fun!
The first installment of the four-part lesson on "Whatchu Lookin' At, Human?" is available on my youtube channel (lukethomasguitarboy). I'll try to have the rest up today!
I have played four Bogner Alchemists, two in Phoenix and two in Boston, and used a strat each time to compare, the ones in Phoenix were awsome but the ones is Boston sounded thin and less clear. Maybe its a regional thing but it sounds like a great amp here
@HalfBillion I doubt that it's a regional thing, and more of a tube thing. They may have switched suppliers, or sometimes tubes that have been 'burned in' a little sound better.
@lukethomasguitarboy That would be great! I love your guitar piece. I already tried to play it but some parts I can't (easily) find out how to play. I will check your youtube channel for updates!
Yeah, I set it and left it. It IS very versatile, but this clip is more of a one tone kinda thing. Check out some of the other clips for more tonal variety.
Luke- you're a great musician and a helluva man! Your shows are exciting, the tunes are sweet beans and your warmth and humor really come through. Thanks for your gracious and kind assistance producing & laying down on those tracks last year- it's meant a lot to me and the other artists for sure. I look forward to more videos and working together as the spirit moves you. Keep it up (like you can't stop/ won't stop!) See you at the BoomBoomRoom!
I just got a cs-336 three days ago. It's the same color as yours. I've gigged with it twice already and, hands down, it's the best guitar I've ever played. Nice playin.'
Awesome. Yeah, it's a great guitar, and the finish is killer. I've always preferred PRS to Gibson, but this is definitely a great deal, and it's more playable than a 335 for me. Thanks!
Thanks, Jon. I am working on putting a few more things up. Check out the other vids on my channel if you have a minute, including tunes with Luke Thomas Trio (LT3) and my rock band, eEnik. Blessings!
i love your song man , i ll buy your album

Though your playing the middle position here, have you ever ran into a bucker guitar with a more useful neck pickup than the 336? I haven't.

Can I find any tabs from this??
TheMrMepu 2 years ago
Well, I have a chart for it, but it's in standard notation, not tab. I might do a video lesson, as well...

Great playing. I'd prefer to hear this number with a more traditional clean jazz tone.

@nokie2 IDK man... I think it would be boring with the same ol' jazz tone. I kinda like the punch and grit. I can see what your saying tho.
