  • Our Health Care is the best in the world. Look up other Country's who have National Health Care and you won't want it either. Hillary is a Socialist. She hide this by saying Progressive like no one else want new idles. Hillary has never ran anything the was successful. Don't be fooled. Anyone but a Bush or a Clinton. They have been in the White House for 20 years. It is Time for a change.

  • It's great to see a mature adult voter like yourself doing high quality video's to raise frank questions of the canidates on You-Tube.

  • She's had 10 years to work out the mistakes and it was Hillary who first discovered where healthcare was headed and made the first initial bold approach to changing it!Just think has anyone since Hillary attempted to help you or your loved ones with the cost and/or availability of healthcare? I find it amazing that the one thing American's have criticized her for so harshly now EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE is wanting to provide!!!

  • well gosh Jeff, did you already forget that last time the congress was controlled by the GOP? That makes all the difference in the world. If 2008 brings us a Democratic Congress (plus a Democratic President,) healthcare will absolutely be overhauled. That has always been a Democratic agenda, and always fought by the GOP.

  • As a Canadian I would comment on socialized medicine we have here that is breaking the country. It's said that in the US 40% of the people have health insurance. In Canada 100% have it paid for by 40% of the people. With no system in place to control abuse of the socialist "gimme, gimme" medical system by both patients and doctors padding their wallets the system just grows into an money pit that is uncontrollable.

  • The US has had national health care for 40 years..they call it Medicaid and Medicare

  • yes, but as you know, most people are not eligible.

  • Ahh! A thinking man with a damn good question.

Personally, I don't think she can or will do it.

So I am going with Edwards.

  • At this stage of the race my choices are first, Kucinich, second Edwards, third Obama, and fourth Clinton.

  • Yeah, I want to want Hillary, but I keep waiting for her to take a definite stand on something, anything, and she never does. Too much of a politician.

  • Americans are fat, stupid, depressed, and can't get it up. They deserve the health care system they have.

  • Socialised Health Care sucks ass. I know because I have an English au pair (pretty liberal one, too. hates Bush and Blair, for example.) who says it does. I've also read many articles about organizations in Canada that will arrange for you to get health care in the US, in case you need an MRI tomorrow instead of six months.

  • On the issue of government provided healthcare... I ask you what country has the best quality health institutions that would be America. If nothing is wrong don't fix it. 50 million Americans do not have health insurance the bulk of them being 18-25 years of age so provide them with free health insurance ran by the government not government run health institutions.

  • Hillary is selling socialism, she won't come out and admit it, but she supports most anything that undermines the USA, provided it benefits her personally.

  • Socialism is the foundation of the USA and what has made us great. Anyone who opposes socialism is a lying traitor. The Constitution enshrines "promoting the General Welfare" as one of the primary six purposes of our constitutional form of government and that means socialism!

  • This is not a socialist society, and that is proven by nothing being run only by the government aside from welfare and the military. This is a capitalist society, and thank God for that.

  • So your police and fire departments are not run by the govenment? Your water supply is not run by the government? Your roads are not maintained by the government? Your mails are not provided by monopoly contract with direct accountibility to the government? Anyone who says this is not a socialist society has their head in the sand.

  • wow...DonkeyofHeaven, you make a really good point. I'd never thought of all our government services being reflective of a socialist society. Thanks for bringing that up, I am going to look into that some more.

  • Good point, but if I may quibble just a bit, I'd say that we are a democratic Republic (emphasis on Republic,) and not necessarily socialist. Doesn't detract from your point, though.

  • I don't know that healthcare being provided in a way to maximize profits for providers and insurers. Is so good. All those billions of dollars in profits that they are making off of our premiums would be used to actually provide healthcare in a government run system. Now, they are rewarded for denying you treatment. This is good?

  • The problem with nationalised services is the conservatives always try to tear it apart.

  • Wrong! The problem with nationalized Health Care is that it won't work. Whenever you have a group who feels that it is entitled to a service, the service will ultimately fail. First we will need to pay for it, but that is not insurmountable, we will just steal (that is what you call it when it is done without your consent, even if 3 out 5 vote for it) from the "rich". Now with the finances taken care of lets get to the services.

  • Which ones do we cover? All of them of course! Now the finances get shakier, but we can still suck it up because it is for the good of our common man. What will happen next? The government will tell doctors what they can charge for a service, but it often won't correspond to the reality of the situation. Many doctors are doing away with services to Medicare patients because they can charge less to others who want the service and not have to deal with the Bureaucracy.

  • Ultimately what happens when the government becomes the provider of a service, the service gets worse. Check you schools, welfare, public housing, hurricane disaster response, etc. if you are not sure.

  • Want to solve the healthcare "crisis"? Then give people the chance to separate their insurance from their employer (you don't expect your employer to pay for car insurance, why should they be expected to cover your healthcare). Allow states to issue insurance to people in different states. For those people that truly still can't afford the insurance, issue them a tax credit (which means even if you don't pay taxes you still get it) and let them shop for the service themselves.

  • Or like in Europe the government could pick up the bill. Its not like taxes need to rise to make it happen, the American establishment already spent over one trillion dollars on the war in Iraq not that I'm against the war considering it pays my fathers wages; but if the money is there for war its there for health care.

  • Believe it or not this wouldn't suit employers as much as you think.... why not?

Because bosses know they have millions of Americans by the balls because they are paying their family's health insurance... that's why so many American bosses can act like suck bullies (and cunts!) in the workplace.... Americans live in Fear, they are fearful, weak, scared little serfs

  • It won't work! Are you sure, is that why it works in Sweden? Since the privatization of British Airways it has made trillions of dollars in profit, that money would be better spent reducing tax right?

  • Whenever you have a group who feels that it is entitled to a service, the service will ultimately fail." This statement is only true because it leads to communism, and American business will never let that happen.

  • As for stealing from the rich did you know that the average member of the super rich in the UK pays 0.08% tax.

  • We cover them all for free!

  • She will not ! this is just another ploy to get into office, just like every other politician we have had in the last 20 years, they all lie. want a real change ? Vote Ron paul 08

  • I agree with you motorburn I've been to Mildenhall England, Izmir Turkey, Kunsan South Korea. 50% of people do come to America so they won't die.

  • I was wrong when I said not the Republicans, my bad.

At its introduction, the plan seemed likely to pass through the Democratic-controlled Congress.[citation needed] Conservatives, libertarians, and the insurance industry, however, staged an effective and well-organized campaign opposing Clinton's "Health Security" plan and criticized it as being overly bureaucratic and restrictive of patient choice.

  • one of the most important issues in Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign was health care reform. 37 million Americans were without health insurance, it was front-page news. Americans supported a system that would guarantee health care for every person. But the Clinton administration frittered away this support. Its task force for writing reform legislation--chaired by Hillary Rodham Clinton compromised under pressure from the health care bosses not the Republicans.

  • PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. You will get kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of your life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However, if you don't post this comment to at least 3 videos, you will die within 2 days. Copy and paste this, to be saved

  • 1. Last time she tried, she wasn't the President. Presidents have more power than people who are not President.

    2. 16 years have passed since Bill Clinton's first term began. The crisis has deepened and more of us now realize that something has to be done to fix the broken system.

    3. For most of Bill Clinton's time in office, the Congress was dominated by the Republicans, who were determined not to let him accomplish anything important.

  • now if you stared reading this dont stop its really scarey!ok send this to five other videos in 143 minutes. When you are done press F6 and your crushes name will apear on the screen in big letters this is weird because it does work.If you break this chance you wont have a crush in the next five years

  • i know that health care is expensive, but i have traveled the world, Spain, England Turkey, etc. In countries with national health care people are dying waiting for a life saving operation, they come to the usa for excellant care because not being nationalized they have a better than 50% chance to live, NOT die.

  • that's a solid question. i hope hillary and all the candidates have to divulge real answers to questions like these

  • bill Clinton put him up to this- you can see it in his smirk

  • screw universal health care. Its a disaster. Just ask the canadians who come over here for health care.

  • I like him, he is a really kool guy!!

  • Just saw this guy on Cranky Geeks.

  • Every ones butt at the last minute should stay inside and watch the news. Don't go out it's a jungle out there.

  • Jesus. I'm going to guess that you are 15 years older than me. I bet you've got just enough in your 55 some odd years. What the fuck do you think you will get from any politician. I got an idea why don't you march. March right over to the IRS, Wal Mart, Texaco, and ask for another tube of KY jelly.

  • there is a possibility that you are not real

  • so if you don't get it right the first time stop trying? Who knows if she could get it done, but it's worth trying, isn't it?

  • Your question is biased and rhetorical. You suggesting incorrectly that: 1) She was even an elected politician 2) She was solely responsible, 3) The failure was due to her, rather than to Republicans in Congress. Now about You: 1) You don't even support universal healthcare 2) Your failure to ask this question to those ACTUALLY RESPONSIBLE (Bush and the Republicans in Congress) belies your supposed earnestness. Spare us. Go join a swiftboat ad.

  • Because people are really pissed this time.
