One cannot appreciate what actors can do until one tries to do it, you know memorize lines and act them in front of another human. Your mind goes poof if you dont know the lines.
It is so challenging....but when you succeed, you feel like a million bucks.
it's not just about memorization. you need to know the lines well enough where you don't even think about them, they come with the memories/experiences your character is talking about. potential though.
@benjaminandrew123 you are entirely correct, right now i have to write my own monologue for my advanced drama showcase in highschool, and its about drinking, and ive never drank in my life, its tough
This was pretty good for your first attempt at a monologue, especially taking into account how nervous you were. My biggest suggestion to you would be that the next time you do a monologue from a play, don't necessarily read the play (though it would help), but do a lot of research on the play and you character in particular. I think doing so will help you become emotionally invested in the performance, which will improve your performance greatly.
Im in 8th grade going to highschool soon & i got drama class becuz i love acting but i have stage fright :/ but i hope i get over it !Anyways, you did amazing i enjoyed the video ( :
for this being your first time, it was pretty good. just try to over the whole nervousness, i know it's hard cause ive performed in crowds before and stuff, but try to get used to it...
I had to do a monologue that was really important for my final grade and was literally like two pages long and my nerves took over as well (especially since I had to cry which was kinda difficult to do) and in the spots where you blank just try and remember what the lines are and if that doesn't work then just make something up that fits! That was an amazing performance for your first try so try not to worry about it too much :)
You did awesome. If that was me up there I would have forget all the words. you had the energy that you had in the practice video. I know this was so much more nerver wracking tho! I did a presentation today too. was shaking the whole time lol. like i said, you did awesome my dear :)
I think you did really great even though you forgot your lines. I know for a fact I would have done the exact same thing except my face would have turned bright red and i would have been all sweaty and embarrassed. I don't do well infront of large crowds haha. But you did great :) Once you get more used to it i'm sure you will do even better!
i can tell how nervous you were. you did better in the vid you posted. but its okay.. keep on workin on it! haa! i luvv the last line! "It was the most romantic moment in my life. Until the manager pulled me off of him." lol! (:
lol. i love the ending. you did good :) don't beat yourself up cuz you forgot some lines. it happens... you did a really good job. keep posting videos like this!! :)

you didn't look nervous. when you needed a line, you just asked and you carried on without having a dramatic annoyance at yourself.
Well done :)
