Guys DONT buy the HD collection. Its new actors, Konami cheated out all the original actors (they didnt pay them) they even blurred out the face of the main character of Silent hill 2 (Guy Cihi) one video.

All Konami wants is your money, maybe if we all stop buying konami's games they will finally change their ways. If you guys support silent hill dont buy the games anymore. (just rent or buy it used)

Oh dear. I can tell the fear in Downpour isn't going to be about the ambience at all. That monster jumping from behind, the violence, the soundtrack... I don't pretend to know what Silent Hill is really about, but the original intention of Team Silent is gone. Maybe we can hope for a decent storyline, at least. No more SH2 recycling.

They should've had 1-4 in HD Collection. The reason I didn't like part one was because of the shitty graphics and that cheap PS1 way about it. Yes, the graphics do count. I've only played 3, 4, and 5. They were all good but like most of you, the first 3 were the real deal and I see why after playing SH3. I plan to play SH2 in HD. I wanted to play part one.

I don't know how I feel about collection, I'm excited a bit about 3, but really I would love an HD version of SH4 as well. That game was the scariest in the series besides 1 for me, 2 and 3 really didn't frighten me at all.

You're saying having higher resolution screen is just making SD look worse. That's only a matter of taste. I prefer HD screen with bad textures over SD screen with bad textures any moment and you can't prove this preference wrong.

1024x1024? What the hell is it? I'm playing in 1280x1024, there is a difference here. 1280x1024 is better from the today standard 720p.

Gawd how many morons can the internet contain? TheKlimat you're absolutely correct, the PC versions have been in HD LOOOOONG before this Collection was announced. Only an idiot would think HD = more polygons, etc. Wake up call - HD stands for High DEFINITION, as in HIGHER screen resolution like 720p or 1080p. mamalamba2 is spreading obvious misinformation here and has no freaking clue what he's talking about LOL.

HD = high definition, definition = resolution. So both hight screen resolution or hight texture resolution can be referred as HD. Do your homework before accusing someone in fail.

Also PC versions of SH2/3 were staffed with hight resolution textures from day one. Because PC was and is able to handle those textures while PS2 console was and is not, it's just too weak to work with 'em.

HD collection is going to look amazing! I was pretty much floored by the God of War HD Collection, especially God of War 2, I remember the first time I played Silent Hill 2 I thought the game froze during the first cut scene standing in the bathroom, but really I just had to move, at that time it was the best looking game id seen, I am thrilled!

Exactly, from the sounds of it, this is going to be an UPDATE, not a REMAKE. A remake would entail redoing a HUGE amount of the game like what they're doing with the Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary or what Nintendo/Konami/Silicon Knights did with Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes. This SH Collection sounds like its more in line with Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3D. (which is still awesome either way, and now a new generation can easily experience Silent Hill 2 and 3)= but in HD)
