@drewnwalker this is an easily disagreeable statement but then again i did not live in his era and i have a feeling you may have. What alternative would you choose? Which policies were horrendous and why? It is not factually inaccurate according to the bible and of course what is written in the bible to many is open to debate, but in those Christianity was more grounded in U.S. society and therefore more pertinent. So, what was the purpose of your comment to begin with?
per jr-9, we see the egocentric mindset of the Nixonians, Reagans, Bushes, Clintons. They will tell us with a dead-serious demeanor that Globalism is a magnanimous entity, that it means well for us peons, trees and lakes. Well, look around.

Today, we face an enemy greater to our standing liberties. There are those on the left and the right, who would give everything to the government for the failed promise of a Utopia that will never come. They believe in silence and tyranny. For if we fail at this moment, we will become slaves to a master that we did not ask for. We must take back our money from the Fed and demand our legislators that freedom, liberty and economic prosperity are not mere words, but ideas that must be preserve.
Our country was founded as a constitutional republic. Having the courage to stand up to tyranny requires us not to be silent and speak up. It requires us to stand up and say no more. We were a republic at one time and can be again. The 2 party system was not always in place. Freedom starts with restoring sound money back by gold and silver mandated by the Constitution and restoring the Bill of Rights. Despair is not a solution.
No Politician in US history was more consistently right and his opponents more consistently wrong as Ronald Wilson Reagan. Look at the speeches Kerry and Biden gave circa 1985 and see how foolish they look in retrospect. Especially Kerry pushing for a unilateral nuclear freeze. As for the peace dividend... what do you call the 90's and most of the 2000s. The expansion Global trade and world markets especially in Eastern Europe over the last 20 years. All brought on by expansion of FREEDOM!!!

The Rooskies have used their peace dividend wisely; the U.S. is now in a depression whose roots can be traced to the disastrous "voodoo economics" foisted on us in 1981. Reagan was the "Master Thief" per Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" (ditto Clinton, Bush I,II).
Do you know who coined the term "Voodoo economics"? It was Bush 41 in the 1980 primary. Again Regan was right his detractors were wrong. Regan produced enormous wealth that lasted decades beyond his term. It was the abandonment of his principles that got us where we are today. By quoting Bob Dylan, and using reference to ancient Greece you think you sound intellectual, but in reality you are showing that you have no real world experience, and never lived under the threat of a nuclear USSR.

He was building a defense force so formidable that our enemies would admit defeat without firing a shot, nuclear that is.....Hey wait! Thats what exactly happened!!! In order to accomplish this feat he had to appease a liberal congress and senate with all the pork they wanted, the threat from the USSR was so great that conservative ficalism was placed on the back-burner.
Just say "no" to drugs. You must be smoking something... FDR did not survive the depression! His policies did NOTHING to help.
