  • There's a leader who didn't blame other presidents for his problems and didn't need a teleprompter to make a good speech!

  • acid rain is caused by trees

  • Reagans genius rings as true today as it did then.

  • Reagan didn't need any of your damn money, and he doesn't have any now.

  • Check out the rare George Gipp Signed Photograph up for auction on April 21st. Then "Bid one for the Gipper."

  • Ronnie had a split personality---both evil. pattipage is right.

  • @lumpagogo I love eating animal meat, and burning paper.

  • @Fallout3Follower

Ronnie stole $2,000,000,000,000 from us--surely you loved that, too, right, Fally-Fall?

  • @lumpagogo You mean when he cut taxes, and actually wanted to win the cold war. Lump-lib your thoughts on animal and tree rights show just how crazy you guys really are. Animals and Trees don't have the same rights as us at all. So I'm going to enjoy eating steak, burgers, bacon, and burning as much paper as possible to negate your probable little usage of it.

  • @Fallout3Follower

No, when interest rates were cut from 20% to 2%, the average Joe lost thousands of dollars--do the math--it was at least $2,000,000,000,000; that's about $6 trill in today's monies. Ronnie himself walked away with $16,000,000,000 in new fifties.

  • Happy 100th President Reagan.

  • This guy destroyed America with his knee jerk free market bullshit and his knee jerk anti-communism and his corporate welfare for defense contractors, bought at the expense of closing mental health hospitals and kicking mentally retarded people into the streets. He was a MONSTER. And I cant' believe every single American doesn't realize that. He destroyed America. Don't let him destroy your country.

  • @richzubaty YOU ARE FULLA SHIT

  • @6050ernul Lick my anus knee-jerk fascist! You're ignorant as dirt.

  • @richzubaty excuse me but just whose knee is jerkin all over the place ? you dont even know what fascist means.

  • rest in peace Mr.President: we love you.

  • Wow! The greatest leader in the history of mankind.

  • @varran172 The greatest leader in HISTORY?!! You must be drunk. This guy sold weapons to Iranian terrorists and funneled the money to Central American terrorists. His "trickle down" economic theory nearly destroyed the economy. Sure the Reagan years were great, until the bill came due.

  • @greenthumbguy1 WRONG WRONG WRONG

  • @6050ernul You KNOW I'm right. Reagan was a corporate shill. A fake. A phoney.

  • @greenthumbguy1 Barack is also a corporate shill, for GE that is.

  • when was this?

  • Posterity will know that this man was the beginning of the end of the United States of America.

  • @IronicKismet YOU ARE FULLA SHIT

  • He is the reason I love politics and learned all I could about how our government should work and what Americans should embrace and want for their free nation. He's my greatest hero and I still mourn him today. My prayer is for people to remember and want what he wanted for our nation again and soon, before it's too late. God rest you sir, we miss you.

  • my hero <3

  • and all without a tele-prompter!

  • and all without a tele-prompter!

  • @LopakaPilot I hate to break it to you, but when he looks down at the podium, he is looking at the teleprompter. They switched to eye-level prompters so the speakers could appear to be looking at thier audience instead of thier shoes. On his "tear down this wall" speech, you can see the teleprompter when the camera angle changes.

  • Only those who willing to depart from God and with that to throw out logic, truth, integrity, common sense , all things that brought us this far would say bad things about Reagan.

  • The last statesman. In the vain of the founding fathers.Well we"re there, do we live on our knees or die on our feet? I am for the latter. Lock and load!

  • @TheNp42 Out of your list, I recognize only one true conservative..

  • Very important man for my country, El Salvador, as well. Saviour of Democracy!

  • hoax

  • This man understood what it meant to be an American, and that if the good do nothing, evil wins. We need another Ronald Reagan. Here's to having a backbone and something to stand for!

Who cares if he made a reference to Christianity? Good for him. If it offended you, stop being such a sensitive p*ssy.

War has it's place. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a pansy who would rather live on his knees rather than die on his feet. If that's your attitude, then go back to your soup kitchen.

  • @drewnwalker this is an easily disagreeable statement but then again i did not live in his era and i have a feeling you may have. Evil is not naturally occuring in the human spirit..governments who are totalatarian such as the communist government of russia did infact spread their evil governance around the world but they did not bring with them the ability to corrupt the newly dominated population. In other words, Yes it is good to be on your two feet in death but the evil will fail instructure

  • you will be dead soon Commie virgin old man

    trust me

  • What alternative would you choose? Which policies were horrendous and why? Minus CIA interventions and other covert operations which can be argued either way, Reagan helped facilitate the end of the Cold War with no bloodshed. That in itself is a great accomplishment considering the Carter years when many in the U.S. felt we were losing the Cold War.

  • The very best... In this Nation we do not say, "God save the king", although many Obama supporters would wish we could do so. We say, "God save our Constitution"!

  • No one says God save the Constitution! Thank God!

  • It is the only thing that keeps us from sliding into chaos. It is still early, this president might use it for toilet paper yet...

  • The best President of my lifetime! God Bless this man!

  • wooooow

  • Wow! Ronnie sounds like he's talking about bo - what a prophet from so long ago! Nothing much has really changed!

  • Yes he was a great president. Very important man, not only for America bout also for my country - Poland.

  • Cheers. Glad to hear is still remembered there.

  • And may America and Poland always stand together for liberty and against tyranny.

  • @adryanoo er no...he was a bozo B movie actor puppet who presided over an administration whose policies included..er...sponsoring genocide...you need to wake up and read some Chomsky.

  • @matt301273 BULLSHIT. CHOMSKY CAN SUCK A DICK WITH YOU

  • God bless the last great president of the USA Ronald Reagan

  • I'm certainly not a conservative, but Ronald Reagan was a fantastic speaker in his younger days. This specch is brilliant.

  • There's still hope for the U.S.A.; if we turn to The Lord Jesus Christ we can once again be an even greater nation with a morally sound president, like Mr. Reagan.

  • Just a reminder; Israel was the name that God gave to one of the descendants of Abraham, and that man's children were called 'the children of Israel' and that man's children were, according to the Bible, the ones enslaved in Egypt and freed by the hand of God.

  • If it isn't a big deal, then why make a comment about it. Reagan's comment in his speech is a contextual metaphor to connect with the audience. It is not factually inaccurate according to the bible and of course what is written in the bible to many is open to debate, but in those Christianity was more grounded in U.S. society and therefore more pertinent. So, what was the purpose of your comment to begin with?

  • This speech has great relevence today with all these people talking appeasment with these terroists

  • damn he was a good speaker

  • Amen! Mr. Reagan was the "best of the best". I wish we had him in the White House now!

  • i love how these stupid kids who never lived thru reagan know so much about him.lol..pussies...

    greatest pres evere

  • What a true American. We miss you man.

  • per jr-9, we see the egocentric mindset of the Nixonians, Reagans, Bushes, Clintons. They will tell us with a dead-serious demeanor that Globalism is a magnanimous entity, that it means well for us peons, trees and lakes. Well, look around.

That's not what the objective eye is seeing.

  • @lumpagogo Can you understand that? Nixon talked trash about Reagan in the Watergate tapes. They didn't get along. Stop grouping them together. Oh, George H.W. Bush and Reagan had their differences, too. Wanna try grouping them together too? Oh, and as far as peons, trees and lakes go, they had a lot more going for them in 1986 than they do now, wonder why? Couldn't be we had a real president then, could it?

  • "The Gipper" was a puppet of the corporate elite and his "Reagan Revolution" set the US on the ruinous path where we find ourselves now.

  • Only a few extremists of the American Communist party ever advocated "surrender." This is the fear-tactic malarky we heard from

Ronnie for 8 years, manufactured drivel which had no basis in reality.

  • Today, we face an enemy greater to our standing liberties. There are those on the left and the right, who would give everything to the government for the failed promise of a Utopia that will never come. They believe in silence and tyranny. For if we fail at this moment, we will become slaves to a master that we did not ask for. We must take back our money from the Fed and demand our legislators that freedom, liberty and economic prosperity are not mere words, but ideas that must be preserve.

  • texasflaw:

We see that we have been a "representative democracy" since the get-go-go. But it is neither "rep" nor "democ." George Orwell

saw this clearly, knew there was little

difference between our sheep (us) and the Rooskies' sheep (them). We will "take back" nothing from anybody.

The only taking we'll do is what we been taking since 1783, a 2-party dictatorship which has fobbed itself off as "freedom." It's a faux freedom.

  • Our country was founded as a constitutional republic. Having the courage to stand up to tyranny requires us not to be silent and speak up. It requires us to stand up and say no more. We were a republic at one time and can be again. The 2 party system was not always in place. Freedom starts with restoring sound money back by gold and silver mandated by the Constitution and restoring the Bill of Rights. Despair is not a solution.

  • "Here's my strategy on the Cold War: We win; they lose." Ronald Wilson Reagan

    Miss ya, Dutch!

  • he won the cold war. was it worth it?

  • It was a phyrric victory for American citizens because we never saw any of the "peace dividend."

  • id rather erase the national debt and watch the Soviet Union starve themself

  • The Rooskies are nice and fat; our debt is $10,000,000,000,000+. Trade deficits have totaled $7,000,000,000,000 since 1976.

  • No Politician in US history was more consistently right and his opponents more consistently wrong as Ronald Wilson Reagan. Look at the speeches Kerry and Biden gave circa 1985 and see how foolish they look in retrospect. Especially Kerry pushing for a unilateral nuclear freeze. As for the peace dividend... what do you call the 90's and most of the 2000s. The expansion Global trade and world markets especially in Eastern Europe over the last 20 years. All brought on by expansion of FREEDOM!!!

  • Do you know who coined the term "Voodoo economics"? It was Bush 41 in the 1980 primary. Again Regan was right his detractors were wrong. Regan produced enormous wealth that lasted decades beyond his term. It was the abandonment of his principles that got us where we are today. By quoting Bob Dylan, and using reference to ancient Greece you think you sound intellectual, but in reality you are showing that you have no real world experience, and never lived under the threat of a nuclear USSR.

  • Awesome speech! He was a great leader indeed. R.I.P. President Reagan.

  • He was building a defense force so formidable that our enemies would admit defeat without firing a shot, nuclear that is.....Hey wait! Thats what exactly happened!!! In order to accomplish this feat he had to appease a liberal congress and senate with all the pork they wanted, the threat from the USSR was so great that conservative ficalism was placed on the back-burner.

  • Beg to differ okra--- they may have been starving but they had fully functional nukes and they still have them for that matter!

  • Ronald Reagan, the greatest President since Washington, we were so Blessed as a country to have him serve us!

  • Just say "no" to drugs. You must be smoking something... FDR did not survive the depression! His policies did NOTHING to help. Our entry into WWII and the "boom" that followed caused the end of the depression. Reagan stood toe to toe with a danger that could have wiped the PLANET clean! AND DID NOT BLINK!

  • My argument was against FDR, not Kennedy... i agree with Kennedy as a very good president, but, you only mention they stood toe to toe...add in the did not blink part!!! Carter wanted to back down every time, Johnson, Nixon did nothing positive in Vietnam. Had Reagan been in charge during Vietnam, it might be the 53rd STATE!

  • Vote for McCain.

  • it all seems so clear when reagans says it. its funny to think this speech was given nearly 45 years ago! his ideals still hold true today. i wish the "progrssives" understood his message, an undying belief in the principles that made this country great!

  • This is possibly the best President the U.S. has ever had. He completely understood the world he lived in. He understood that life is a challenge, and that we must fight, not sight tight and wait for the apocalypse to happen...

  • This has to be one of the best speeches ever given.

  • 5starfav "the greater risk lies in appeasement" all of our representatives should hear this, thanks for posting.

  • this is a TEN star video - on content alone.

Ronald Reagan... i sure wish he was here today. We need a man like Reagan again - and soon.

  • One of the best speeches in the 20th century.

  • YAY AWESOME POST!!! How ya doin' A.G.!

  • Guess times don't change that much after all. What the great President Reagan stated in 1960 holds true today. Only the enemy has changed.
