@AAliasW Arthur C. Clarke, not Asimov. Asimov had the Three Laws of Robotics and simply could not conceive of many novels or Sci-Fi ideas that did not include them as an integral part of the story. Clarke went everywhere and anywhere and actually popularized the idea of geostationary satellites for telecommunications. Though Asimov's related series Foundation and Galactic Empire are extraordinary reads and greatly under-appreciated.

could the ships be from the old computer game HOMEWORLD. it was a tatical fleet game back in the early 2000s i think that basically had you leading a fleet of a ships from your homeworld to the world where your people originally came from while being attacked by an empire that rules most of the galaxy.
