Well I have played lacrosse for a number of years, so that would probably allow me to catch on a little faster then anyone else jumping right into to it, as it requires allot of hand eye coordination to.
@b4igetu wel i dont think it would be as easy as you think. i've played lacrosse in my school and i think it is easier than hurling. the only thing you have to watch out for in hurling is when catching the ball from a puck-out it can hurt if you catch the ball in the wrong part of your hand and other players will swing the hurl downwards to hit the ball in the air and that can hurt if they catch you on the hand.
@ChrissBeehh ha no way... the running and stamina are so easy, thats what training is for.. did ya ever hear of let the ball do the work, think of that when playing a match and you wont be as tired because your getting the ball and getting rid of it quickly...
The first five minutes of a match are the worst, but after that i would run all day not a bother to me.. stamina has a bit to do with hurling but not a huge amount..
@b4igetu the only part of hurling that will take a bit of practise and can be difficult is taking sideline cuts.. they can be fairly hard but its all about your technique when taking 1 that determines how high and far it will go.
I watch London GAA (for my sins) in both football & hurling & believe me EVERY time I go I know I will get entertainment, 2 teams giving 110%, "playing for the shirt", BIG hits & after beating the crap out of each other on the pitch all the players will be in the bar after the match having a beer,

@dive5 They wear pads.... most hurlers would hit people as hard a few times in a match without any padding, do it too often without padding you'll just injure yourself, it's like boxing, back when it was bare knuckle the hit's weren't as hard or to the face as often because it hurt too much on the hands, now which would you say is tougher and requires more balls? bare knuckle or boxing now?

camogie has different rules like u can pick the ball up with your hand but for boys u have to scoop it up with the hurley...
