  • great technique !!!!!

  • Geez... you're a fucking machine. Robot form lol

  • keep your heels down.

  • great technique. seems like my learning power cleans has begun from this moment. привет из России ;)

  • Form is great

  • Wrong form, "teacher." You start at lower knee to get more of a shrug, drop under it, squat it up to about chest height, then rest at chest height for half a second, get balanced, then twist your wrists in a snapping form and bring it down slowly. You're basically reverse curling it then going down. Power clean is a lower body workout. When you show a tutorial, make sure you do it right.

  • By far the best power clean instructional video on youtube

  • oly lifting in running shoes....

  • @Jealkeja no that's Oly teaching in Running shoes. Check my other videos my friend.

  • @oleged Fair enough!

  • Thanks for this vid! I've wanted to learn power cleans for a while, this is by far the best instructional video on youtube I've come across.

    Muchos gracias!

  • the best instructional on here.

  • really helpful video.....but I was just wondering do you have to like jump when youre going to bring it to your shoulders idk if you understand?

  • @realmadrid4evercr7 The jump is a natural occurrence. It happens because of the Ground Reaction Forces (GRF) are building during the ascension of the bar. They often teach you to jump with weights while teaching Power Cleans or Power Snatches which is not right, but not entirely wrong. In Olympic Weightlifting competition you still have to get under the weight, so excessive elevation will distort bar velocity curve and with maximum 100% loads you will not be able to get under the bar effectively

  • LMAO 1PLATE!!11

  • @KendraHoder Fantastic, I incourage doing these lifts without any age limitations. If you can continue doing these lifts and get your power clean to about half the body weight! you will live a healthy and "functional" life.

  • @vleon1012 I think you are talking about the jump I make to absorb forces of the bar as I lower from chest back to hang position. It is a natural occurence for all high level Olympic Lifters. As you make tens of thousands repetitions of the lifts, you tend to develop methods by which you minimize the unnecessary stress on the body.

  • Good detailed instruction. As a beginner, this is what I was looking for.

  • is this good for you when you are 16 and growing heigth?

  • @Schpeet1 good for your muscles, probably not your joints

  • @SoldierFrontJunky if you have a congenital condition-walking is not good for your joints. Close kinnetic chain exercises promote joing health through compression forces. "weightlifting stunts your growth" is an old wives tale. However if you ment to grow 7 feet tall-you probably will not succeed at Olympic weightlifting. Chicago Bulls former power forward Horace Grand Power Clean 300lb. Just to remind you he was 6.9 and had very long career.

  • @Schpeet1 If you are 16 and trying to do Olympic Lifts you are too late if you are trying to get to the National Championship level. However, it is never too late to Compete in CrossFit and do it for Explosive power development which is very usefull for ANY sport. And please don't worry if you are to be 5 feet tall or 7 feet tall, Olympic lifting will not stunt your growth (if done with PROPER! instructions). Can't learn it by watching youtube videos!!!

  • @oleged

"Can't learn it by watching youtube videos!!!" - you made me really sad with this sentence. The closest olympic lifting trainer is about 100km away from my hometown. Do you think, that even power clean is impossible to learn with yt videos and some correction by experienced lifters on the internet?

  • @oleged 16 is not too old to start training for high-level competition. look at pat mendes, who didn't start training until he was like 18 or 19. he's probably going to set some new world records.

  • Great! An instructional vid on youtube about doing cleans which actually is worth watching.

  • @weightliftingisgreat THank you. There are only 5% of videos on Youtube worth watching. There is so much more to explain and to teach. I gotta start some video seminars for my fellas CrossFitters

  • thanks man

  • Thanks for making this clip. Its been really helpful

  • great form man...get the vids coming

  • @ilnas I have to continue making these. you are right. and not once every 2 years.
