We opened for these guys in Fresno Ca. Aurora walked in during their practice at the Starpalace and they were fooling around. We thought we could keep up with them. We did our set, despite them limiting the lights and monitors they had. They came out and blew us away. Fortunately after the show we got to meet with them backstage. They were really kewl Aussies, gave us autographs and sharerd their beer. What a learning experience- that was back in 1980. J. Flores
@Natty0cat Now the band has split in 2 and they are fighting with each other.Doc and one guitarist in one band and the Brewster brothers and drummer in another....ahhhhhhhh showbiz!:)
@docneesen Oh my goodness YES... just waiting for them to pop up in the JJJ hottest 100 albums of all time... Surely they must be in there...Come on!!! :-)
@abbb350 if you think that their tone is original the your dead wrong. Look at early AC/DC exact same tone. As for Doc yea he interacts but so does a majority of frontmen from this era
@CedarsEagles10, abbb350 usto be my old account, and mate you are dead wrong acdc and the angles sounded nothing alike ever clean your ears out and it is my own opinion what i wrote on here awhile ago and if you dont like my opinion then you can pissoff buddy
i absolutely worship the guitar combination of the brewster brothers they both have a tone all of their own none on this planet sounds like em, i would say they are the kings of palm muting coz what they are known for , and doc i like how he interacts with the crowd not many frontmen do that
l was 8 years of age when l first heard the Angels on Countdown. That sound hit me BIG TIME.The Angels are one of the greatest Australian Bands Ever.l bumped into John Brewster at the Club Hotel in Bairnsdale 2004.He was so nice and down to Earth. The Brewster Brothers-LEGENDS.
the angels rock.....if you liked this then you should check out the video (yes video cassette) not sure if it's on DVD) called THE ANGEL'S LIVE AT NARRARA,,,,doc and the boy's do Marseilles much better on the video, doc climb's up the scaffolding and starts with the french, then the crowd starts, i was there i have the tape and now i suggest you who is reading this go check it out...

I bought their 1st album when it came out, then it got scratched,so I had to get rid of it.Came across the cd at Hasting's about a month ago and it was only $3.99..Still love it like it was the first time. Are they still touring??
LONG LIVE THE ANGELS.Angus Young and malcom might have some awesome riffs .But tell ya those Brewster boys are something else too..Thanks for the upload ;)Loves it
I agree with some comments here. The Angels are my all time fave band. I have seen them about 40 times. The first time was at The Sydney Opera house NYE 79-80. Their music is so full of amazing childhood memories. My all time guitar riff is from 5.49 till the end love love it
rick himself was a classicly trained pianist when he was a kid then learnt guitar and is posibly in the top 3 aussie axemen here in aus, and john when he left the angles for a while he was part of the party boys, then bob spencer took over on rythm, i would like to jam with john and rick someday i actually have a similer guitar style to john i have always been a fan of the angles
I love The Angels and Angel City records, but I can't help think that I would have loved to hear Bon Scott sing this one too! This is like a better AC/DC song than many of their own!
The most unassuming lead guitarist on the planet..........with tone, feel and melody. With a hint of arrogance......What a talent... If only i new his name!
@ marclowe.....what have you done for the aussie music scene...?? Big fat zero i bet..at least doc can still rock and always will..where you my friend will just always be a judgemental cocksucker
How I miss the days at the Bankstown Sports club and the Banky RSL.....watching these guys.........Music at its very best.......especially with a few JD"S under the belt.
Awesome band! But I am curious folks. Does anyone out there speak French? I would love to know what the Doc is saying in French! I never did know what he was saying.
Translation: "Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Would you all like to come for a walk tonight with me? ooh ahh x 20.. Ah very good you are all my friends. I adore you..."
Much the same as way back at the Narrara gig. It hasn't changed much.
I saw Angel City in '80 at a small bar in Madison, WI. Best concert I've seen. I always have wondered if the guitar player really had red LEDs in his sunglasses or was I to stoned. Total energy Ausie Rock!
i went and saw them also in february, they were brilliant, firs saw them at schoool in '75 when they were the keystone angels, took my 14 year old lad and he loved it, seeing them again in 5 weeks at the gov here in adelaide.........cant wait!
hey the me and my dad went and saw the angels a couple of months back when they were doing i think it was their national tour. we saw them in inferno in traralgon (country vic). dad went off!
Back in the early 80s we used to play this song and the crowds thoght we wrote it.We were like No its Angel City and they would say Who?The Angels were big in the US for about 2 months.terrible shame
You're right, buddy. They did make ACDC look second rate and God only knows why they haven't received the success that ACDC have. One of life's mysteries.

The Angels were well known for their great rythym and powerfull guitar riffs.
In this song you can clearly hear the " knick knicks, " as the Brewster Brothers descibed the riff.

Great to hear the band has some loyal fans, in the States like your good self.
Check out the show they did at La Trobe University here in OZ on You Tube. They were absolutely brilliant on this night.
1. Angels No Exit live 1979
2. Angels Straight Jacket live 1979
3. Angels Be With You live 1979
Their best years were from 1978 to 1985.
This gig and Narara 1983 were their best.
I have never heard a rock band as tight as them live ever. As musicians they make ACDC look second rate.
