so, i'm extremely impressed by how you are apparently able to play songs you hear by ear on the fly and just kind of run with it. that's something i would absolutely love to do more than anything. i've been playing piano for some five years but i never took lessons, and just kind of taught myself, and i'd like to think i'm decent at least. do you perhaps have any advice on how to learn to just... play songs, like you can do?

@DiscoArsonist I think it depends on how you are taught, I was taught to play by ear right from the start..it also helps to build up your harmonic language, starting with chords I, IV, V, adding minor ii and vi etc, learning to recognise certain progressions and patterns in music, so start by trying to get simple stuff by ear, and just build on it

@shraeven1 There are so many ways to learn. I learnt in groups, and ensemble skills was a main focus....I think you need to find a teacher that you click with, and a learning method that suits you...mostly, it's about hard work and consistency, and there's no reason that you won't be able to progress very quickly if you work at it :)

Ah yes I think a lot of people like Touhou, can't wait for you to cover Dream Battle. Most themes are pretty frantic though, so if you're more of a Chopin/Debussy person I could recommend a few themes: Septette for the Dead Princess, Ancient Temple, Green-Eyed Jealousy, Night Sakura of Dead Spirits and The Far Side of the Moon.

It' just a suggestion though, since I found Touhou highly enjoyable to play on the piano, albeit messily. It's always nice to see other's own intepretations as well :)

Maiden's Capriccio Dream Battle is an INSANE piece. The Touhou music would be great to hear from you. You could easily destroy it.

If you're taking Touhou requests, I think most of the tracks from Touhou 7: Perfect Cherry Blossom would be suitable. Especially Mystic Oriental Dream.

I mean, I'm not well-informed about this or anything, but from my experience people living up north around Queensland and NT tend to have slightly (but not extremely) heavier Australian accents than those living in the South-East, which is where Lara is (Sydney). :) Although there are exceptions everywhere, of course.
