I think that the violin concerto by Khatchaturian, performed by L. Kogan if I'm not mistaking, was filmed in the exact same concert hall. I'm not 100% sure about that, does anyone know where was that filmed?
Ochen chudniy - I think that's how one would say it in Russian. This is discovery time for me here. We never knew about these wonderful singers on the other side of the Iron Curtain when I was studying music in earnest.
Conductor - professor Lev Kontorovich, great russian choirmaster, at this moment Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of Moscow Radio Chorus "Masters of Choral Singing"

There is nothing more I can add about this awe inspiring performance except this. I love the reaction of the boy soprano following Kozlovsky's unbelievable high D. He shakes his head as if to say, "There is no way I am going to attempt that note, Maestro!"
Украина -- поздний термин. Украинцы суть РУССКИЕ и есть! А то, что называется сейчас Российской Федерацией -- Московия (мне очень нравится это название). Поэтому Иван Семёнович был, есть и будет великим РУССКИМ певцом!
He watched strictly his diet and schedule and lived exceptionally for his voice...he...even did not speak over the phone...for the sake of his voice...He is a great tenor of the Soviet period!
Nuzno, he was indeed a great tenor, but actually, he was Ukrainian, born and raised in Ukraine, and sang a lot ot Ukrainian folk songs and opera arias.
OH MY GOSH!!!!! HE WAS UKRAINIAN!!!! THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING! Y we do not call bieber, american's singer?

this is part of Prokofiev's 8th Piano Sonata. Does anybody know if this was written previously and then Prokofiev quoted it for the piano work?

Amazing. No other words will do for Kozlovsky's performance here. Except perhaps "incredible:)" --

nuzno не пудри мозги. Козловский был украинским певцом. И не забывай, что Украина независимая страна. Не всё в мире принадлежит твоей -Московиииии-
