@gtbol135qw no it says 300 cuz its a 3.0 v6. Dumbass. Look at all of nissans cars and tge nymver is the size of the motor. 280 z had a 2.8 inline six. 240 sx a 2.4, 350z a 3.5 etc.
Why are all these camaros so banged up? Why would u do that to a great and rare car like this. i went from a 91 rs that had the clear coated melted off and a dent to a 99 firebird. I love both cars to me it doesnt matter who makes it as long as it looks good and its a sports car
@SuRihtanil Not at all in 80s the vette had a 350 5/7 as well as the camaro but had a aluminum block better gears n more horse power in the engine it self . all because the litres are the same dosnt mean anything honestly there is NO comparing the same year vetter to same year camaro n a 06 vette to a iroc is no comparassion either Well a stock iroc iv seen a 78 hopped up z28 smoke a 2002 zo6
@oxXBlackXRoseXxo Weel, I mean from 1993-2002 WS6/SS they had the same engine, rear end, and transmission as the corvette. I know LT1 firebirds will run beside a LT1 vette, my 96 firebird ran beside a 95 vette, it was dead even.
@SuRihtanil OH yeah There was even a year of a station wagon that had the lt1 vette engine in it over them running out of normal engines for that vehicle i am trying to get 1500$ atm actually to buy one of those station wagons down the street from me to put that lt1 in my 3rd gen Lol sorry for misunderstanding though
Whahahaha typical redneck I got a v8 what size is ir engien haha idiots. Who wouldent think their the shit in a vette compared to ur piece of shit damn at least paint it to make it look nice
Not really a race, just some driving around and insulting everyone. BTW an Airman could never afford a new Vette. The IROC was probably one of the weakest camaros made especially with the lame ass 305 whats it have 200hp maybe 220? I had one 20 years ago when I was an Airman. My 4 cylinder turbo diesel VW station wagon will beat that hunk of crap. They didnt even come with true duel exhaust, had a solid rear axil. Unabody structure half of the bolts metric with the motor still in inch sizes.
@richarddarm Ya i wouldnt be able to afford a corvette. and a auto 305 has 165hp and 5 speed has 190 hp. and if my grandma car of a buick lesabre could beat one im pretty sure even a 4cyl 5 speed probe would fuck his day up. if not a 6cyl one could.
The 5.0 liter 305ci TPI versions with the T5 manual 5-speed were quicker than the automatics, The 5-speed models came with a more aggressive cam and better rear end gears from the factory. Automatics were dogs, unless they were the L98 optioned 5.7 liter 350ci offered in 1987 and later. The were torque monsters, but only ran a few tenths faster than the 5.0 (305ci) cars. Both were 14 second runners in the 1/4 mile, but that wasn't bad for that era (mid-late 1980s) they handled quite well though.
@gtbol135qw vg30 nissan v6's are junk. i had 2 0f them. your lucky to get 150,000 miles out of them before you throw a rod or the entire fuel system shuts down. also, know your engines before you start spitting out number's- 305 tpi v8 had 220 hp, 290 ft.-lbs- well enough to embarass any nissan pos.
I love how some dumbasses think this is real race. Description says "for fun". Let's be realistic, of course a damn stock 88 305 is gonna lose. The corvette is a fucking 07. I mean damn, it's an 88. You're putting a stock 88 against a modern car which produces 400 hp. The IROC is nice but definitely not meant to race stock 305.
you should be embarrassed of the way your Z looks. yet, you talked shit about everyone else on the road. fix your car up dude - then you can rightfully talk shit, iroc is a classic muscle car ... but yours is embarrassing
Thats funny i thought everyone in Idaho smoked meth for fun, well at least the mother of thes kids did. Your lucky he even showed you 1/2 throttle at 4-5RPM shifts. Just go back to seeing what you can drive through, maybe next time try a brick wall.
@yurifiero Its a fucking new vette, their hard to beat especially with any car under $50 grand. Its all good fun with american muscle, ya no one likes to loose but with those odds you gotta kinda expect it. Id like to see your ride beat a fuckin vette.
@GamMan93 1995 dodge stealth r/t twin turbo 487whp 477ft/lbs TQ. Stock except for cat back exhaust 2002 corvette zo6. My stealth is faster but up forsale to fund my zo6 project
@yurifiero You say an iroc isnt muscle? Then you sir might be fucking mentally retarded.
Dodge stealths are nice cars, but no stealth coulda beat that vette. Maybe in some ricers dream but not in real life. Not trying to be a doosche but ive driven a stealth, and a vette. Ill just say afterwards it made the stealth feel more like a soccer mom car.
@GamMan93 in stock form a 95 stealth r/t twin turbo had 320hp with a 6spd and awd. But mine has been modified to 487 wheel hp not crank hp. 477ft/lbsTQ... deff quicker than a stock vette of that year
@yurifiero Alright, its a nice car with some power. But i drove a 3000gt(better version of the stealth imo) twin turbo, a lot of carbon fiber, etc. It had a lot of shit i forgot cus it was being made into a race car. Then the same day drove a 86 i beleive corvette with a supercharger only. No comparison, the corvette was so much better though i loved the gt. And drove a stock newer vette, and personally doubt a stealth could ever beat it.
@GamMan93 well I would bet my life that a STOCK 86 vette would never touch a 1995 stealth r/t twin turbo. the vette would be giving up 90hp and 1 gear in the tranny. Even in 1995 stealth r/t tt was quicker than a 95 vette. As for a ls1 powered or newer vette no it wouldn't in stock form but would be close. owing the stealth and 02 zo6 I can assure my stealh is quicker. has been modified tho
@yurifiero I agree with a stock 86, but something like an 07....its hard to say but id say it could. But im not bashing on your car, i really like stealths. You seem to know more about them so i could be wrong. But i still wouldnt beleive a stealth beating that vette in the video unless i saw it in the real. Now against a 86 or 95 or something is more likely, but an 07....i still doubt it.
@GamMan93 I had a stealth RT/TT and also had both an 86 Tuned port injected vette and a 95 LT-1 vette and I agree that the Stealth would take the 86 vette but not a chance on the 95 LT-1 vette assuming all are in stock form. Now shall we talk modified I happen to have a 94 LT-1 Lingenfelter TPIS vette on my channel that puts down 505 hp at the rear wheels and I assure you that it would easily destroy both cars in the video and yerifiero's modified Stealth.
@yurifiero You are freakin dreaming if you think a stock RT/TT Stealth had anywhere the numbers you claim and also do not know how to use the google function of your internet service because the car had 320hp at the crank and torque was a little higher than the HP figures. Also in one reply that this is to you say it's stock but below it is modifed? Maybe a dream, if you want a real modifed car there's a 94 Lingenfelter TPIS vette on my channel with 505 rwhp that would destroy your stealth & ZO6
@91cannibal My uncle has a fresh 1985 IROC Without t-tops and it's nearly perfect inside , including a perfect dash and seats. It only has 65,000 original kms on it , and STILL leaves impressions.
haha i do the same thing as you guys but i have a jeep cherokee. i know its not meant for racing but if it has tires and a motor i'll find a way to race it.
Yall some Fucking Redneck Ass Crackers. for da 8 years i've lived in Idaho i've never seen too many of yall. Your ride sucks Balls foo. Come down to Burley, and Come race, every friday, saturday and sunday night. hit the cruise on Overland Ave. and Race any body. u'll get ur jalopy Rocked.
You should hit the library and cruise some literature home skillet. Too gangster for proper grammar? Bet mom would be proud if she could take the needle out of her arm for 2 minutes.
Wow... I wish I lived in Mountain Home Idaho... just think, if you actually did something with your life, like join the military, one day you might be able afford something nice like a 50,000 vette... Or build a baddass engine for your IROC... (aleast you don't drive a ricer)
iv seen plenty of iroc's that would walk that vette with just a n/a 350. they need to get that thing painted though its just a disgrace to our cars. sad that they cant atleast take care of it.
@Everett901 You are stupid. Gotta LUV how all the nut swingers say gotta love manufactures name, or manufactures name kicks ass other manufactures name sucks. HAHA
this is a sad camaro i use to stick up for you guys but you need to fix her up dont ruin a classic please i hate people that buy classics and dont fix them up.
@ZGILBERT93 no i know that i dont have any money ethier but what i mean is they should buy a car say a civic and not let a car rust to death i can see them buying it and fixing it up later sure go ahead but not if you have no attention to fix the ol chevy up. a muscle car just shouldnt be treated like crap.
the 305 IS sweet. i have an 89 with the same motor but i have taken off the fuel injection and changed it to carburated. dumb i know but its what i prefer. they have a ton of power but i like more. 383 stroker anyone???
They are not the same blocks, if that were true, you could stroke a 265 Small Block out to a 454 Small block. They are the same design, with similar dimensions, not exactly the same. There's the 3.75 bores, 4.00's, 4.125's, 3.670's.
I wish all small blocks were exactly the same, I'd pick up a rusted 265 out of some old Chevy pick up for a hot 50 bucks, stuff in a 400 crank, and bore away to 4.125, and have myself a nice 427
I love 350's though, they're capable of 400+ cubic inches.
...What? They ARE the same blocks. One is simply bored more than they other from the factory. And for what it's worth, the 400 is the largest of this block family. It can be bored, but only very slightly.
And a 350 will never be able to pass 400 CID. Even with a bore and stroke increase, you can only push it as far as 388 cubic inches safely. Hell, if you were gonna bore it that much, you might as well go nuts on a 305, they'd both blow up the same.
You sir are STUPID. They are NOT the same blocks, if that were the case, you could make a 454 out of a 265. Holy shit dude, you are just beyond stupid.
YOU CAN GET A 408 OUT OF A 350. Have you not seen the Popular Hot Rodding article on a 408 C.I. 350 small block?
You seriously need to check out "T AND L ENGINES" before you reply to me with this bullshit. The put 4 inch crankshafts in 350 blocks.
305's and 350's are NOT the same block. All of what you've said is total bullshit.
@kcole939 Hey man, I'm not going to argue with you. Believe what you want to believe, I'm not here to change your mind. Just don't spout your bullshit to people that might believe you, you'll have the high school kids confused.
Not saying it couldn't happen. You could put a 4" stroker crankshaft in a 305 and go beyond the 334 an overbore and 3.75" crank would give you, too, if you so desired to do the custom work. What I'm saying is you're calling the 350 and 305 different blocks; while I'm aware they have (VERY minimal) differences, the heads, driven accessories, crankcase, and even the tranny behind them are all easily interchangeable with absolutely no modification. That's as close to "same block" as it gets.
They are not the same blocks, they are the same design, but not the same size. You could not physically get 408 cubes out of a 305. It'd be just about as hard as trying to get a 428 Cobra Jet out of a Ford 302.
...what? Again, I don't want to argue with you, just don't give incorrect information. The 350/305 blocks are the same size as far as length, height, width, and even weight are concerned. The difference is in how the blocks are cast; if you bored a 305 out too much (you'd know, being the expert you are, that .060" is as much as anyone recommends on any block, and even that is too much IMO) you'd hit water and ruin your block. That does NOT mean they're different blocks.
You're forgetting that the blocks cannot fit the same size crankshafts. Try putting a 4 inch crankshaft into a 305 block, and see what happens. The rods will immediatly hit the block, and if you machine away too much, you'll hit the water jackets.
You know what though, since you seem to think I'm giving out incorrect information, go on with yourself, try to get 408 CUBIC INCHES out of a 305. You can do it with a 350. But why are them 305 guys only getting about 330?
@kcole939 Yes, they can. The largest crankshaft either block fits with minimal maching is the 400 CID's 3.75" crank. I'm unaware of a 4" crank, but if it fits in the 350, it fits in the 305. The reason you can't get 408 cubic inches out of a 305 is because after you bored enough out, you'd have one completely ruined block with siamesed middle pistons. Just because they're CAST DIFFERENTLY doesn't mean they're DIFFERENT BLOCKS. Christ.
Holy fucking shit kid. GO TO T&L ENGINES, THEY PUT 4 INCH CRANKSHAFTS INTO A STOCK 350 BLOCK, THEY MAKE 408 CUBIC INCHES.
Do you know why you're unaware of it? You're a dumbass that's claiming to know something, when you do not. They ARE different blocks, they are a whole different casting family, although they have the same design, NOT INTERIOR DIMENSIONS.
Your little reason for not being able to get 408's out of a 305 is PATHETIC. We are not talking about boring here.
HE IS RIGHT... YOU STUPID LITTLE DICK, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, just because its a member of a small block chevy family does not mean they are the exact same, I suggest you build and 383 stroker, look at the 350 and 400 when they are pulled a part......see a difference? HMMMM maybe the 305 might be a little different too? Maybe? hmm? DUH!!!!!!!
I guess some silly people don't understand that. Going by his logic, I could take an old 265 Small Block, and have a 427 Small Block just by stroking. Simply because in his little mind, he thinks every Small Block has the same internal dimensions.
You should of replied to him, though. Maybe being told for the 27th time would of got it through his head. Then again, maybe not. Maybe it was just simpler for him to keep going along with the lie, too stubborn to admit he was incorrect.
Christ, no, I admitted very early on that the internal dimensions would be different, I'm not retarded. What I said was that the blocks width, length, heigh, and general weight would be the same. They bolt up to the same transmissions, bolt up to the same motor mounts, use the same accessory drives, and are very similar motors.
You're still incorrect in saying longer stroke crankshafts won't fit in the 305. You can put take a 383 stroker crankshaft and put it in a 305. You'll end up with a 329.
Longer stroke crankshafts WILL fit, but you're stating that in a very general way, to make yourself seem correct. When sadly, you were not.
You cannot take a crankshaft out of a 400, which would be a 3.75, and put it in a 305. However, there ARE 3.75 stroke cranks for 305, that will yield 340's with boring, but those are crankshafts designed to clear the interior dimensions of a 305.
A smaller cylinder requires less of a stroke angle, for the rods to clear, without TOO much machining.
No. See, the problem arises from the fact that a 400's main journals are 2.65". Of course the crank needs to be turned down to fit, but both the 350/305 use 2.45" mains, so a crankshaft designed for use in the 350 also fits perfectly in a 305, if so inclined. It does require the use of the 400's 5.56" rods (I believe, you're the expert, correct me if it's the 5.7" rods) to clear the piston. You're still skirting the point.
You see, all these blocks share the same external dimensions, as I've mentioned. They can be universally interchanged with one another. If you and I start with identical blocks of wood, and you cut a bigger hole in the middle of yours then I do, it doesn't change the fact that we started from identical blocks of wood.
So, are all the blocks technically different? To be an asshat, sure. They're different CID, they can't possibly be identical. They're still cast from the same blocks, differently.
No, there you go. I'll use your own analogy. Take two, 1-gallon jugs. Fill one with green tea. Now pour some clay in the bottom of the other, and fill it up with green tea. Though they are incapable of holding the same amount of liquid, they're the same jug.
Again, they are NOT the same engine. They were cast from lumps of iron that are THE SAME.
So now you're saying they're the same, just because they're cast from the same lumps of iron?
Okay, my 350 was cast from the same iron as many 502's were. Matter of fact, even less iron, with a massive crankshaft. That means I have a 632, just because the material is the same!!! I must be putting down 700 RWHP in my Camaro, N/A with 10.5:1 compression, with that 632!
I don't see why you're still whining, they're not the same blocks, not even in the same bore family. Get over it.
502 doesn't have the same exterior dimensions/patterns as your 350. Or did you not catch that, because I'm beginning to think you're the dictionary definition of an idiot.
I've agreed that the top end is different, clearly, because displacement is different. Not a hard concept, and that my argument is based off exterior dimensions and extreme similarities inside as well. You've drooled and ranted about bullshit. I've ruined your analogies, you've whined like a 12 year old. Comprehension 101.
I'll have to continue this since you're feeble minded self cannot figure it out. You proved you do not know shit, though.
As I said, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT BORING. We are talking about stroking, which does not require any block boring/machining, other than clearancing for the new crankshaft.
I may as well not even bother, you do not even understand the basics of boring and stroking an engine.
By your theory you could stuff a 3.75 crankshaft into a 305, and get over a 350.
I'm still laughing over the fact that you think a 4 inch crankshaft could fit into a 305, because it fits into the 350.
You're a 20 something year old kid who most likely has never even unassembled an SBC, let alone put it back together.
The 305 is in the 3.670 Bore Family. The 350 is in the 4.000 Bore Family. They are different blocks, with different cylinders, and different limits for cranks.
The smaller cylinder of the 305 will not clear the sharp rod stroke angle of a 4" crankshaft.
One more comment, just so you're not confused, and stop replying with your lying BS.
The 305 in STOCK form uses a 3.48 crankshaft, same as the 350, which is close to the 305's limits. They are not limited only be bore size, but crankshafts also.
@kcole939 It's the same as the 350s, actually. And you can machine the 305 to use a 400s 3.75" crank, just like the 350. That's how you get the 334/388 strokers, respectively (with mild overbores).
Don't listen to him people, you are limited by bore on the 305 (and 350, as well, you simply cannot bore more than .060" over standard). It is the same block in every other aspect. Go take the heads off a 350 and bolt them to a 305 if you don't believe me. You'll lose some compression, that's it.
You're still incorrect, despite almost every part being interchangeable, they are NOT the same block.
THEY ARE IN A DIFFERENT BORE FAMILY. Get it straight.
"Don't listen to him people"?
LMAO, you're a fucking kid that's never even rebuilt an SBC, let alone even drive a car that's powered by one. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know.
Bottom line is, if 305's were the SAME block, they would be in the same bore family, and capable of 400+ cubic inches, such as the 350 is.
Tell me, if they're limited by bore, why would a 4 inch crankshaft not fit in a 305, yet it fits fine in a 350 with minor block machining, to clearance for the rods?
Huh? Come on, give me an answer kiddo.
I'll tell you why, they're not the same block. You're 23 years old, you're a little snot nose kid that doesn't know shit. I'm not trying to personally attack/insult you, but it is the truth.
Go learn your shit on SBC's, then come talk to me.
A 3.75" crank in a 305 strokes it to a 329. With a mild overbore, it becomes a 334. There's loads of them around. If you want to go with a 3.875" or 4.000" crankshaft, you would be in to serious block work in either the 305, 350, or 400.
Now, that's the LAST time I'll respond to your retarded insults. You speak in circles and give no new information, other than insulting my age and intelligence. Have fun living in ignorance.
Living in ignorance? WHO'S THE ONE THAT THINKS A 305 IS A 350? They are DIFFERENT blocks. They have completely different block casting numbers, different internal dimensions, different cylinders.
It'll be your last time posting because you're too much of a stubborn fool to admit you're wrong.
Oh, as I expected. A 23 year old kid that doesn't know fuck all about the first Generation Chevy Small Block family.
They are FAR from the same blocks. Do you realize that almost every different bore family of the SBC, also has different blocks dimensions, and not just cylinder dimensions?
Why do you think guys with the 305's are stroking the blocks to the max, biggest crankshaft allowable, and getting barely over 330 cubes? NOT the same block.
Nothing wrong with wanting to see what a faster car can do. My first car was a 95 Firebird with a 3.4 V6/160 horsepower. I'd still goose it next to a Vette/V8 Fbody/V8 Mustang just to get them to kick it so I could see what they had. They probably thought I had a ricer mentality, but really, I just enjoy seeing fast cars get on it.
holy fukin shit dude im mean shit man fuck that fuckin vette is the fuckin shit and these dumb fuckin fucks. i cant underfuckin stand em ever single shitty word is fuck or shit or something dumbasses and idaho is weak
Please tell me you were kidding when you said you almost had him
your low compression 305 with crappy heads that dont flow worth shit would have trouble keeping up with even the smallest displacement engines, never mind a 6.0 ls2 that makes 400hp and 400ft Even if you had some heads that actually flowed a decent number a good cam and some compression and the corvette driver started in reverse lol you still would have lost because the simple rule of enignes theres no replacement for displacement
All in all they made this video for fun I think. No one in a stock 305 believes they'd beat a Corvette, any year just about. Not unless you got some semi mods hooked up. At the most if you can take off the line quicker than a Vette (if you can beat it then great!) with a shit load of torque I can appreciate that.
DurtyTurBen, you're a little 18 year old who most likely cannot even pay for insurance. So what if he wants to be snobby? It's his car, he likes it. How about YOU get a real car "mate" instead of being a little fanboy who favorites videos of stalkers chasing rich people in Lamborghinis.
@gtbol135qw no it says 300 cuz its a 3.0 v6. Dumbass. Look at all of nissans cars and tge nymver is the size of the motor. 280 z had a 2.8 inline six. 240 sx a 2.4, 350z a 3.5 etc.

Not really a race, just some driving around and insulting everyone. BTW an Airman could never afford a new Vette. The IROC was probably one of the weakest camaros made especially with the lame ass 305 whats it have 200hp maybe 220? I had one 20 years ago when I was an Airman.

@GamMan93 1995 dodge stealth r/t twin turbo 487whp 477ft/lbs TQ. Stock except for cat back exhaust 2002 corvette zo6. My stealth is faster but up forsale to fund my zo6 project
yurifiero 1 year ago
@yurifiero You say an iroc isnt muscle? Then you sir might be fucking mentally retarded.
Dodge stealths are nice cars, but no stealth coulda beat that vette. Maybe in some ricers dream but not in real life. Not trying to be a doosche but ive driven a stealth, and a vette. Ill just say afterwards it made the stealth feel more like a soccer mom car.
GamMan93 1 year ago
@GamMan93 in stock form a 95 stealth r/t twin turbo had 320hp with a 6spd and awd. But mine has been modified to 487 wheel hp not crank hp. 477ft/lbsTQ... deff quicker than a stock vette of that year
yurifiero 1 year ago
@yurifiero Alright, its a nice car with some power. But i drove a 3000gt(better version of the stealth imo) twin turbo, a lot of carbon fiber, etc. It had a lot of shit i forgot cus it was being made into a race car. Then the same day drove a 86 i beleive corvette with a supercharger only. No comparison, the corvette was so much better though i loved the gt. And drove a stock newer vette, and personally doubt a stealth could ever beat it.
GamMan93 1 year ago
@GamMan93 well I would bet my life that a STOCK 86 vette would never touch a 1995 stealth r/t twin turbo. the vette would be giving up 90hp and 1 gear in the tranny. Even in 1995 stealth r/t tt was quicker than a 95 vette. As for a ls1 powered or newer vette no it wouldn't in stock form but would be close. owing the stealth and 02 zo6 I can assure my stealh is quicker. has been modified tho
yurifiero 1 year ago
@yurifiero I agree with a stock 86, but something like an 07....its hard to say but id say it could. But im not bashing on your car, i really like stealths. You seem to know more about them so i could be wrong. But i still wouldnt beleive a stealth beating that vette in the video unless i saw it in the real. Now against a 86 or 95 or something is more likely, but an 07....i still doubt it.
GamMan93 1 year ago
@GamMan93 I had a stealth RT/TT and also had both an 86 Tuned port injected vette and a 95 LT-1 vette and I agree that the Stealth would take the 86 vette but not a chance on the 95 LT-1 vette assuming all are in stock form. Now shall we talk modified I happen to have a 94 LT-1 Lingenfelter TPIS vette on my channel that puts down 505 hp at the rear wheels and I assure you that it would easily destroy both cars in the video and yerifiero's modified Stealth.
BIGGREENLEAF1 1 year ago
@yurifiero You are freakin dreaming if you think a stock RT/TT Stealth had anywhere the numbers you claim and also do not know how to use the google function of your internet service because the car had 320hp at the crank and torque was a little higher than the HP figures. Also in one reply that this is to you say it's stock but below it is modifed? Maybe a dream, if you want a real modifed car there's a 94 Lingenfelter TPIS vette on my channel with 505 rwhp that would destroy your stealth & ZO6

hometownhizzle 2 years ago
305 is just a paper weight. why not get a 350, same block. more power.
herbertmmm 2 years ago
They are not the same blocks, if that were true, you could stroke a 265 Small Block out to a 454 Small block. They are the same design, with similar dimensions, not exactly the same. There's the 3.75 bores, 4.00's, 4.125's, 3.670's.
I wish all small blocks were exactly the same, I'd pick up a rusted 265 out of some old Chevy pick up for a hot 50 bucks, stuff in a 400 crank, and bore away to 4.125, and have myself a nice 427
I love 350's though, they're capable of 400+ cubic inches.
kcole939 2 years ago
@kcole939
Hell, if you were gonna bore it that much, you might as well go nuts on a 305, they'd both blow up the same.
anfman1986 2 years ago
You sir are STUPID. They are NOT the same blocks, if that were the case, you could make a 454 out of a 265. Holy shit dude, you are just beyond stupid.
YOU CAN GET A 408 OUT OF A 350. Have you not seen the Popular Hot Rodding article on a 408 C.I. 350 small block?
You seriously need to check out "T AND L ENGINES" before you reply to me with this bullshit. The put 4 inch crankshafts in 350 blocks.
305's and 350's are NOT the same block. All of what you've said is total bullshit.
kcole939 2 years ago
@kcole939 Hey man, I'm not going to argue with you. Believe what you want to believe, I'm not here to change your mind. Just don't spout your bullshit to people that might believe you, you'll have the high school kids confused.
anfman1986 2 years ago
Bullshit? LOL, you cocky little dickhead. What I said is correct, you're completely WRONG.
T&L Engines stuffs a 4 inch crankshaft into 350 blocks, and makes 408's, with a stock production spec block also.
You're unbelievably stupid to not accept common sense. Maybe this is your little half ass comeback because your useless bullshit is WRONG.
T&L Engines, go look them up. 408 cubes from a 350 block. Check out the Popular Hot Rodding article on it also.
What a dumbass. LOL.
kcole939 2 years ago
Not saying it couldn't happen. You could put a 4" stroker crankshaft in a 305 and go beyond the 334 an overbore and 3.75" crank would give you, too, if you so desired to do the custom work. What I'm saying is you're calling the 350 and 305 different blocks; while I'm aware they have (VERY minimal) differences, the heads, driven accessories, crankcase, and even the tranny behind them are all easily interchangeable with absolutely no modification. That's as close to "same block" as it gets.
anfman1986 2 years ago
They are not the same blocks, they are the same design, but not the same size. You could not physically get 408 cubes out of a 305. It'd be just about as hard as trying to get a 428 Cobra Jet out of a Ford 302.
You don't make a bit of sense.
kcole939 2 years ago
That does NOT mean they're different blocks.
anfman1986 2 years ago
You're forgetting that the blocks cannot fit the same size crankshafts. Try putting a 4 inch crankshaft into a 305 block, and see what happens. The rods will immediatly hit the block, and if you machine away too much, you'll hit the water jackets.
You know what though, since you seem to think I'm giving out incorrect information, go on with yourself, try to get 408 CUBIC INCHES out of a 305. You can do it with a 350. But why are them 305 guys only getting about 330?
Different blocks.
kcole939 2 years ago
@kcole939 Yes, they can. The largest crankshaft either block fits with minimal maching is the 400 CID's 3.75" crank. I'm unaware of a 4" crank, but if it fits in the 350, it fits in the 305. The reason you can't get 408 cubic inches out of a 305 is because after you bored enough out, you'd have one completely ruined block with siamesed middle pistons. Just because they're CAST DIFFERENTLY doesn't mean they're DIFFERENT BLOCKS. Christ.
anfman1986 2 years ago
Holy fucking shit kid. GO TO T&L ENGINES, THEY PUT 4 INCH CRANKSHAFTS INTO A STOCK 350 BLOCK, THEY MAKE 408 CUBIC INCHES.
Do you know why you're unaware of it? You're a dumbass that's claiming to know something, when you do not. They ARE different blocks, they are a whole different casting family, although they have the same design, NOT INTERIOR DIMENSIONS.
Your little reason for not being able to get 408's out of a 305 is PATHETIC. We are not talking about boring here.
kcole939 2 years ago
YOU ARE RIGHT kcole939, and last but not least
HE IS RIGHT... YOU STUPID LITTLE DICK, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, just because its a member of a small block chevy family does not mean they are the exact same, I suggest you build and 383 stroker, look at the 350 and 400 when they are pulled a part......see a difference? HMMMM maybe the 305 might be a little different too? Maybe? hmm? DUH!!!!!!!
katskratchkustumz 2 years ago
Thanks.
Maybe it was just simpler for him to keep going along with the lie, too stubborn to admit he was incorrect.
kcole939 2 years ago
Christ, no, I admitted very early on that the internal dimensions would be different, I'm not retarded. What I said was that the blocks width, length, heigh, and general weight would be the same. They bolt up to the same transmissions, bolt up to the same motor mounts, use the same accessory drives, and are very similar motors.
You're still incorrect in saying longer stroke crankshafts won't fit in the 305. You can put take a 383 stroker crankshaft and put it in a 305. You'll end up with a 329.
anfman1986 2 years ago
Longer stroke crankshafts WILL fit, but you're stating that in a very general way, to make yourself seem correct. When sadly, you were not.
You cannot take a crankshaft out of a 400, which would be a 3.75, and put it in a 305. However, there ARE 3.75 stroke cranks for 305, that will yield 340's with boring, but those are crankshafts designed to clear the interior dimensions of a 305.
A smaller cylinder requires less of a stroke angle, for the rods to clear, without TOO much machining.
kcole939 2 years ago
You're still skirting the point.
anfman1986 2 years ago
You see, all these blocks share the same external dimensions, as I've mentioned. They can be universally interchanged with one another. If you and I start with identical blocks of wood, and you cut a bigger hole in the middle of yours then I do, it doesn't change the fact that we started from identical blocks of wood.
So, are all the blocks technically different? To be an asshat, sure. They're different CID, they can't possibly be identical. They're still cast from the same blocks, differently.
anfman1986 2 years ago
You're still missing the main point. They ARE different blocks, that ARE NOT capable of the same displacement.
Sure, most of them are the same around the crankshaft area, but go up top, and take notice that the cylinders are a hell of a lot different.
Since you want to relate to stupid subjects such as wood, let's relate to jugs of green tea!
Gallon and half gallons have the same design, share the same caps, have the same size handles, but hold different amounts of liquid. Hm...
kcole939 2 years ago
No, there you go. I'll use your own analogy. Take two, 1-gallon jugs. Fill one with green tea. Now pour some clay in the bottom of the other, and fill it up with green tea. Though they are incapable of holding the same amount of liquid, they're the same jug.
Again, they are NOT the same engine. They were cast from lumps of iron that are THE SAME.
anfman1986 2 years ago
So now you're saying they're the same, just because they're cast from the same lumps of iron?
Okay, my 350 was cast from the same iron as many 502's were. Matter of fact, even less iron, with a massive crankshaft. That means I have a 632, just because the material is the same!!! I must be putting down 700 RWHP in my Camaro, N/A with 10.5:1 compression, with that 632!
I don't see why you're still whining, they're not the same blocks, not even in the same bore family. Get over it.
kcole939 2 years ago
502 doesn't have the same exterior dimensions/patterns as your 350. Or did you not catch that, because I'm beginning to think you're the dictionary definition of an idiot.
I've agreed that the top end is different, clearly, because displacement is different. Not a hard concept, and that my argument is based off exterior dimensions and extreme similarities inside as well. You've drooled and ranted about bullshit. I've ruined your analogies, you've whined like a 12 year old. Comprehension 101.
anfman1986 2 years ago
In fact, I can't leave it like that. You'll crap your pants and talk in circles again.
External casting = identical, which was my argument.
Internal casting = different, which any half-intelligent monkey would agree on, and which I've never disputed.
Happy?
anfman1986 2 years ago
I was happy to begin with. I'd be even happier if I had a turkey sub from Subway, though. With pepperoni, and bacon.
External casting = Italian herbs and cheese bread.
Internal casting = delicious, which any hungry person can agree on.
kcole939 2 years ago
I'll have to continue this since you're feeble minded self cannot figure it out. You proved you do not know shit, though.
As I said, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT BORING. We are talking about stroking, which does not require any block boring/machining, other than clearancing for the new crankshaft.
I may as well not even bother, you do not even understand the basics of boring and stroking an engine.
By your theory you could stuff a 3.75 crankshaft into a 305, and get over a 350.
YOU CAN'T.
kcole939 2 years ago
I'm still laughing over the fact that you think a 4 inch crankshaft could fit into a 305, because it fits into the 350.
You're a 20 something year old kid who most likely has never even unassembled an SBC, let alone put it back together.
The 305 is in the 3.670 Bore Family. The 350 is in the 4.000 Bore Family. They are different blocks, with different cylinders, and different limits for cranks.
The smaller cylinder of the 305 will not clear the sharp rod stroke angle of a 4" crankshaft.
kcole939 2 years ago
One more comment, just so you're not confused, and stop replying with your lying BS.
The 305 in STOCK form uses a 3.48 crankshaft, same as the 350, which is close to the 305's limits. They are not limited only be bore size, but crankshafts also.
kcole939 2 years ago
@kcole939 It's the same as the 350s, actually. And you can machine the 305 to use a 400s 3.75" crank, just like the 350. That's how you get the 334/388 strokers, respectively (with mild overbores).
Don't listen to him people, you are limited by bore on the 305 (and 350, as well, you simply cannot bore more than .060" over standard). It is the same block in every other aspect. Go take the heads off a 350 and bolt them to a 305 if you don't believe me. You'll lose some compression, that's it.
anfman1986 2 years ago
You're still incorrect, despite almost every part being interchangeable, they are NOT the same block.
THEY ARE IN A DIFFERENT BORE FAMILY. Get it straight.
"Don't listen to him people"?
LMAO, you're a fucking kid that's never even rebuilt an SBC, let alone even drive a car that's powered by one. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know.
Bottom line is, if 305's were the SAME block, they would be in the same bore family, and capable of 400+ cubic inches, such as the 350 is.
kcole939 2 years ago
Tell me, if they're limited by bore, why would a 4 inch crankshaft not fit in a 305, yet it fits fine in a 350 with minor block machining, to clearance for the rods?
Huh? Come on, give me an answer kiddo.
I'll tell you why, they're not the same block. You're 23 years old, you're a little snot nose kid that doesn't know shit. I'm not trying to personally attack/insult you, but it is the truth.
Go learn your shit on SBC's, then come talk to me.
Same block, LOL. Quit lying to yourself.
kcole939 2 years ago
Ooookay, for the last time.
Have fun living in ignorance.
anfman1986 2 years ago
Living in ignorance? WHO'S THE ONE THAT THINKS A 305 IS A 350? They are DIFFERENT blocks. They have completely different block casting numbers, different internal dimensions, different cylinders.
It'll be your last time posting because you're too much of a stubborn fool to admit you're wrong.
305 is the same as a 350, yeah, what a joke.
kcole939 2 years ago
Oh, as I expected. A 23 year old kid that doesn't know fuck all about the first Generation Chevy Small Block family.
They are FAR from the same blocks. Do you realize that almost every different bore family of the SBC, also has different blocks dimensions, and not just cylinder dimensions?
Why do you think guys with the 305's are stroking the blocks to the max, biggest crankshaft allowable, and getting barely over 330 cubes? NOT the same block.
Go study up, kid.

looks like you need some new valve seals :)

02camarosst 2 years ago
Please tell me you were kidding when you said you almost had him
your low compression 305 with crappy heads that dont flow worth shit would have trouble keeping up with even the smallest displacement engines, never mind a 6.0 ls2 that makes 400hp and 400ft Even if you had some heads that actually flowed a decent number a good cam and some compression and the corvette driver started in reverse lol you still would have lost because the simple rule of enignes theres no replacement for displacement

wtf is a hatter?
learn to type retard!
tygfox08 2 years ago
All in all they made this video for fun I think. No one in a stock 305 believes they'd beat a Corvette, any year just about. Not unless you got some semi mods hooked up. At the most if you can take off the line quicker than a Vette (if you can beat it then great!) with a shit load of torque I can appreciate that.

LOL you guys are bags of shit lol your all snobby at other cars with that piece of shit? you can be snobby when you own a real car mate.
DurtyTurBen 2 years ago
DurtyTurBen, you're a little 18 year old who most likely cannot even pay for insurance. So what if he wants to be snobby? It's his car, he likes it. How about YOU get a real car "mate" instead of being a little fanboy who favorites videos of stalkers chasing rich people in Lamborghinis.
kcole939 2 years ago
i resent that, im 18. and i own 2 cars(one of them is an 84 IROC and i pay insurance on both of them.
MrTrapMan 2 years ago
That wasn't in any way meant to offend other 18 year olds or younger people in general, I just didn't agree with that guy's comment.
