I have the Bose Comp 5 (or C5) for 8 months now and for a computer speaker, they are really excellent and awesome. Durability is NOT a question. They are built really well. They are pretty versatile too, can connect to MP3/dvd player, radio and tv. Placement is crucial is getting a boomy bass, so try and experiment! Good or bad, you get wot you pay for. These comp speakers are good investment.

Altec Lansing is good, but the only thing I don't like about them is their designs for some reason. But they're good, not as good as the Bose of course.

i bough mine in 2006 and i had replace the speakers with new Altec Lansing speakers

then for the heck of it i replacesd the blue power light with a disco LED
