  • When I first heard this song on the radio, I was thinking to myself, "Hmm, another Willie Nelson song." Then when Kris, Waylon, and Johnny Cash joined in, I sat up and took notice. Four of the biggest names in Country Music united! Well, it's been over 25 years since then, so I wonder whether or not something like that could happen again, and if it does - which singers will it be?

  • even if I am a girl I love the song so much by all my heart god bless u johnny cash!!!

  • Great song...so weird when you think about it...I grew up on this...explains so much. :p

  • 47 people can eat a dick

  • Love you dear GOD, thank-you for this song and the singers that sang it.

  • i think that mt. rushmore should add the ending picture of the 4 right next to washington, jefferson, lincoln, and roosevelt. whose with me

  • Epic Song. It basically shows the American heroes of history and the different romantic ages of the USA and how they will never be forgotten. The civil war era outlaws, the american sailors who sailed around the world, the dam builders who worked in harsh conditions and the pilots who flyed the planes and spacecraft and thereby raised the standard for us all. My hats off to all of them.

  • I'm glad I actually got to see them in concert in Worcester, MA. Best concert I ever attended!!! No opening act, just these 4 with there backup bands performing their own singles plus songs from The Highwayman album.

  • @bippyl67 Can´t tell you how envious I am right now. Must´ve been epic beyond belief!! :D

I like all kinds of music (except hip-hop and rap) but Country is becoming my favorite again. I like a lot of the older classics as well as the new stuff, but no one stacks up to Johnny Cash, Waylon, or Willie Nelson

  • I wonder what middle america and the south thought about a song that was clearly about reincarnation

  • THEY WILL FOREVER BE THE OUTLAW ..under belly of "The Quick over-night reality show" musicians...The Industry promotes....THE HIGHWAYMEN WERE AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE ONLY REAL ONES. show your kids and nieces, nephews, and sons...just like I do....:)

  • Chills seeing Cash smiling at the end...energy never dies

  • Legends never die...

  • I love that f-5 tigershark at the end......... out into the cosmos Johnny

  • Except for Johnny Cash's involvement in this; and Willie Nelson's... and I guess Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jenning's involvement too, this is a pretty wack video for a pretty tough song I have to say.

  • @Feydmep1 agreed. To mainstream 80's for this song. Id love to hear a stripped down version...but I can't think of a any male country singers today to do it justice.

  • Good song, i dont have too many country songs on my playlist, im happy to add this one :) Heard it off of Art Bells radio show.

  • Hard to beat Johnny's smile at the end...he and Waylon are truly still "around"...

  • @ksucatinokc It really is surreal hearing cash sing that, saying he'll be back "again". Makes me feel... as though, I missed something very important, something, big that was lost when they died. I don't like this feeling.

  • @ksucatinokc that grin!

  • A haunting brilliant song about life after death.

  • Cash's part always gives me chills whenever I hear it, he was THE MAN

  • rest in peace johnny cash and waylon jennings

  • It's such a disapointment listening to amazing stuff from REAL country artist, and then turning on my local 'Country' station and thinking, 'Really? THIS is country music now?'Maybe someday REAL country will come back, and get that crap outta the radio. :)

  • @Ami101Amour I cant agree with you more

  • @Ami101Amour Country is shit man these are the only good country artist, Just because its not about a bigass truck or a man and his ugly woman and his booze doesnt mean its not country. This stuff rocks, "REAL" country sucks donkey ass and is for rednecks who are dating their cousin and drinking XXX wiskey

  • @Ami101Amour Absolutely. When people ask me what kind of music I like, I usually say just about everything but top 40 and country. Then I have to correct myself and say, well I mean that pop-hybrid overproduced crap they call country these days. Give me some Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline or Hank Williams Sr. any day. That's great music.

  • @MsMEHowe I like hank williams jr more than hank williams senior there both great though ive listened to classic country since I was 8!Now dats all country is listened to and when I say country I mean modern is listend to by womman! Not men!Because men hate POP!

  • @MsMEHowe Though, some of the newer guys are good...Jamey Johnson, Scotty McCreery seems to be good...

  • @MsMEHowe dont forget hankk III lol

  • @MsMEHowe what about willi nelson

  • @Ami101Amour Ah, look on the bright side. Like the song says, man. "I'll come back again, and again, and again, and again.."

  • @Ami101Amour

I'd argue that there's a big difference between "western" music and "country". Country music's all about dead dogs, booze, divorce, booze, broken tractors and, you guessed it, booze.

  • It's really a beautiful song in a funny way. . .

  • you suck for not letting it play in playlist!!!

  • ghost riders

  • At 2:58, their faces should be on Mt. Rushmore. lololol

  • Baubles are Jewelry for anyone that wondered. And I didn't even need to google that word.

  • @LonesomeTroubadour It's actually more akin to a trinket. It could be jewelery, it could be a simple toy, etc.

  • Love this song!!

would have made a beautiful moment at your friends funeral, sry for your loss.

  • 1:44 holy shit best music video ever!

  • One hell of a song.....almost haunting yet badass enough to want to hear it over and over and over again.....

  • willie nelson, chris cerstopherson, waylon jennings, johnny cash, 4 good singers and i dont know how to spell lol

  • Pure magic, one of the best of country songs and worthy of listening to again & again & again & again. The vocals are excellent but also the supporting musicians, i.e. listen to the lead guiter and compare with other versions.

  • I sometimes think I am a big, tough guy, but this song strips my ego away and makes me cry like a little kid.

  • love this song!

  • Jimmy Webb gave us the portrait of the images in our minds by virtue of the words he wrote...these legendary singers brought those images to life in every listener.

  • Johnny Cash on a starship? Word.

  • i fucking love this song....

  • Maybe one of the best country songs ever.
