Approval Voting is much better than we have now, but it's not my favorite. My preference is for an Instant Round Robin (Condorcet) method with a hybrid tiebreaker using the Smith Set, Approval votes, and first place votes.
I'm not sold on range voting, but it makes more sense than Plurality. As for Approval, I'd take it over Plurality any day, and also over Instant Runoff (which is one of the only voting methods worse than Plurality).
I think the best description of Approval Voting I've heard has been this: "With Approval Voting, you get to cast a YES or NO vote for all candidates ... With Plurality Voting, you get to cast a YES vote for one candidate."
Great point on the "spoiler" issue and the same voting machines.
I'd use examples of races for governor and Senate. That way you avoid complicating issues - i.e. the Electoral College for the presidential race, and redistricting for Congressional races.
If there are enough questions in the comments section, I may make another video addressing those questions specifically in a Q & A between "King" and "Sarah". Other issues may include bullet voting, mediocre winners, majority criterion, Arrow's Impossibility Theorem, or others. I can easily handle any of these topics. I apologize for the voices. Feedback is appreciated.
