@MrKingPerfect Lol Yamcha was not one of the greatest fighters in Dragonball, he was probably the worst aside from Chiaotzu. he never won any matches in the world martial arts tournaments and was fairly useless in almost all of the sagas. He only won that fight against the mummy guy during the Baba Saga, Yamcha's sucked from the start really.

@MrKingPerfect No, that was in the first fight, in all the fights afterwards Goku was clearly stronger. I don't care if Yamcha's the main character, but he never contributed anything really. I respect Tien & Krillin (and even Yajorobe) because they had moments of usefulness and contributed, and they won fights. Every character on the show fights people stronger than them to protect others at one point or another, that's not a trait that only Yamcha has.

Tien wasn't using anywhere near his full power when he and Yamcha fought in the tournament, once he started using more power he beat Yamcha easily and broke his leg. What does him being an original character have to do with anything? And when has Akira ever killed off any main character that was a good guy? That's the whole point of having the dragonballs, there is no permanent death.

He broke Yamcha's leg because at the time Tien was an asshole, he was just doing what bad guys do. Tien had already slammed Yamcha onto the ground and that probably would've ended the match. After Tien broke Yamcha's leg Goku said "There was no need to do that" Tien was better.
