Have you ever seen the endless, green forests of germany? Where children run after wild bunnys in the fields and explore the woods, seeking for foxes and deers? Have you ever touched a wild deer or had a fight with your mother because she didnt want to raise the babyfox or bird you picked up? Children who never did all that cant grow into adults who really understand nature.
I'm from germany, and that's the way me and all my friends grew up.
I dont know where you're from but if you never did those things you must be from a city.
True, the last few years children startet playing more computer games, but that'll stop one day too. Btw, before you ask, im 20 and not at all unusual.
by see this movie,i understood that we have made a dead world, and i'm ready to sacrifice my "modern and advanced world" and come back to the age of rock, just to have an earth similar to pandora. "we are kiling our mother",jake sully, while asking for help to vitraya ramunong.
for all you avatar fans: if you would like to live in pandora, then do something to save our planet!! the Na'vi people would never do what we are doing to our earth...
But just like in Avatar, our problem is the Corporations, not the individuals. They have spread into our government and personal lives like a cancer. They believe that they can do anything they want.
@6go6th6ic. I agree with you theTOXiiK. It's already lamost too late. Global warming and all that stuff. And besides almost everyone is lazy not to help the earth! I wish we could. Our douts are already down by alot. And...Wea re selfish, and think we cando or take what ever we want...
Dude wait for 2012 annunaki will save this planet and kill us ;D And i think It'll be better for everyone. And if Marduk still thinks it was good idea to let us live on this planet there r other races who will take care of that. I mean children of Tiamat.
@6go6th6ic Not all have chosen to destroy our earth but not enough are standing up and willing to fight for it. Humanity is divided over countless issues. If we cant even come together as a race to do something as simple as saveing our mother from death. What hope do we have for peace.
this movie really makes u think... how u treat people and ur planet... i meen this planet is millions of years old and we come and ruin it in 200 years? come on people we cant just do that..
We'd have to go back to the Stone Age in order to stop whatever it is we think we need to stop. Because in the last 200 years, science and technology have both advanced given us ways to improve our lives that have taxed the environment. I don't see us slowing down technical advancement to save the environment. We're trying to find ways to use it for the good of all, which hasn't been all that successful yet. We'll figure it out someday...
@theswedishdude1 if you drive a your just as much to blame as everyone else i mean thats why i live in a small city so i can drive my bike to places i want to go
@theswedishdude1 well not 200 years exactly....but yeah. It's sad that we're powerful enough to destroy a planet. But we're powerful enough to heal it...as long as it's not too late. :(
@theswedishdude1 The Native Americans had the right idea. Way I see it, the indians weren't much different from the Na'vi, 'n look what happened to them.
I loved it in the movie when everything started to glow :) it was so beautiful, i wish in my lifetime we can find such a beautiful planet like that so i can see it. not saying the earth isnt beautiful though, because she is :)
no, were destroying her and making concrete cities that look almost disgusting against the natural background. though its everything we know to build as we do, it still seems so unnatural :(
haha, thats true. we're learned creatures, so unlike cats or dogs we don't possess that instinct to be able to run away from home for a month and survive. we learn most of our behaviour and our culture has made us learn to cook food that over the years we don't even hunt anymore. i'm sure we could learn to live in environments we're suited for, but it would take a while.
@CanadianDani this is true, but what enviornments ARE we suited for? Its fact, and as much optomism as I usually have on topics like this, it is a lost battle
While everyone one says Pocohantas (did I spell that right?) when it comes to similarities, I say Prince of Egypt. Think about it. A guy basicaly get adobted by another, uh.."group" of people and is taught their ways, then he falls in love with the daughter of the leader? Who then ends up defeating the "group" from where he had originated. DUH.
i know pandora doesnt exist, but i ttruly beleive this is how men are supposed to be... fierce, wild, and courageous... not like the world is trying to make us right now, they are trying to teach us to be easily manipulated, and scared to search for what is waiting to be unleashed inside our heart.
@bleujae1, ähm Sorry Pandora exist! not like the movie, but James C. used the nearest Sunsystem fron the earth as coordinates, it caled "alfa centauri" and the Sun of Pandora is AC 2 ! Pandora is one of the moons! sorry i only want to tell that it be!
@TeamkillerDeluxe yes that is true but is a rock moon i think that like the other moons but if the humanity want to go to ''pandora'' first we have to discover the way to go light speed!!!
Centauri is a system of 3 stars, currently not proven to have any planets orbiting it. Due to the nature of that system it would be difficult for a planet to exist close enough to these stars to support life and have a stable orbit at the same time. Avatar is a good work of fiction. Don't quit school to become a space marine yet.
I agree! Pandora is just what our world once was. And like they say in the other "we destroyed our mother" I hope this movie may stand out to more people and make them want to save the rainforests. It is just like the indians having their land taken from them. I would give up a life to just live atleast a year in pandora its so beautiful. We are cowards hiding behind guns while they fight with no armour just like the native american indians did.
Our amazing brains invented guns and other tools that allow us to shape the world around us and also go into space. The same kind of genius invented the computers used to make Avatar and came up with the story for that movie. If you live in America, enjoy the fact that you don't have to worry about being eaten by giant armored dinosaur dogs, or being cold because you were too clumsy to kill that bear and take it's fur. The smart people have your needs covered.
Dont say that it doesn't exist! I know this may sound a bit to farfetched but of all the +10^10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 plantes in the universe, there is a small (it may be small, VERY small, but still, it is there) chance of a similar planet like pandora! That i belive!
there is an infinite number of dimensions,an infinite number of universes in which right now,in one of them, everything you saw in Avatar is happening, time and space is malleable.everything is possible, you have the power :)
Can someone tell me where can I found the music that is played, when they try to transplant Grace's soul to her avatar? You know when every Omaticaya prays and Grace passes to Eywa.
you confuse "well animated" with "realistic". it's not realistic. we don't have any spaceships to go to a planet that has not been discovered that have bioluminescent forests and floating mountains. the movie is a nice fantasy at best. btw: what humans tried to do on Pandora is pretty much what Americans did do to American Natives. Except the natives didn't have flying dinosaurs to help them.
holy shit! It is like Pocahontas. The visitor falls for the chief's daughter, finds happiness and peace, then ends up fighting his own people to preserve it.
You're getting thumbs down for your comment because people want to believe in Avatar so badly. JC is brilliant.
You do know that Pocahontas came out 1 year after the wrote the original scipt back in 1994??? So it's kinda impossible that he rip-offed poca, maybe it's the reverse??? Who knows, ask disney.
You're right, he did write it WAYYY before Disney's Pocahontas came out...actually, in History, there NEVER was a love story between Pocahontas and John Smith...SO, in actuality, since Cameron had written Avatar way long before Disney came out w/ theres...I'd have to say Cameron had the first idea... at least thats what I have concluded to after all the research :P
@zenshinify yes is true is fantasy but can humanity develop the technology to put colonies in moon, mars and go to other solar systems yes! but if the earth is destroy by all this pollution, war, global warming, the only way to humans to survive is the space, go to other worlds?
It costs more than $100,000 to put 1 kilogram of matter into Earth's orbit. How much do you think it would cost to go to another planet, let alone to send humans who need food, air, and are heavy.
Don't worry about pollution. We only have about 45 years of oil supply left. Then you will need to worry about war, food, electricity, and staying warm. The only way for humans to survive is to use our minds, our senses, think better, and to work productively. Study hard, and make a difference.
omg.. i just canfloat away... this music is so magic and realy makes you thing about things, and see things.. i dont know but i love the movie and the music , its hard to explain. I love pandora .
I love the movie so much! I have seen it twice and Im going to watch it a third time <3
The Soundtrack is so.. peaceful, gently and.. aaahhhww <3 can't stop imagining the World of the Na'vi when Im listening to this... Im feeling like I am in a complete different world right now... sooooo magical...
their are several version of this particular piece of music on the soundtrack but i like this one the best, its more magical to me, loved the movie, amazing cgi, visually just stunning, people say this story has been told before, well, not like this , not like in this incredible world james cameron has created, so go see it, you won't be disappointed, i sure as hell wasn't
This movie sort of does have a theme song. Check out 1:54. This basic melody is in many of the songs, and varies, but it is basically the theme. Not super bold or spectacular, but very fantastic, like Pandora and their culture.
yeah, i commented a few soundtrack songs like that.
i already recognized it in cinema when i watched avatar the first time. i do have to say nearly every piece sounds a little like the others... but that's not something bad because they all are THAT beautiful *.*
I love the way everything glows... It shows that things can be beautiful.
And the way the Na'vi skin has glowing marks too.
This is random... But are they warrior markings or natural to the skin? Lol.
I really loved this film :)
I agree with Colactic1... the soundtrack is a little boring... But then again, the Na'vi are very gentle and peaceful, like much of the music. The music should fit the surroundings and those who inhabit the surroundings... And it does that perfectly :)
You're entitled to your opinion. I personally think the portrayal of humanity is very bleak, yet a very valid outcome considering our ways. As for your second remakr, without humans they would never have been in the situation in the first place.
The only thing that bugged me about the movie was "Unontainium", simply due to its lack of creativity. Although, it does get the message across :p
I think Cameron's use of unobtanium was quite creative, actually. The name itself is commonly used by engineers to refer to any sort of newly discovered or hitherto "unknown" mineral, so it makes sense. However, the fact that Cameron made unobtanium a room-temperature superconductor makes the scientific foundation of the movie that much more interesting and cohesive. Props Mr. Cameron.
I think it was sickly amusing that even though intelligent life on Pandora was Neolithic by our comparison, we still show up armed to the teeth in high tech weaponry. It's just so.. unnecessary. That could be said many issues we face today.
when the Na'vi send those humans home, u can hear Jack Sully saying "the aliens are returning home to their dying planet" so i guess they came here in the first place to save their planet. i think it is something to do with earth natural resources running low or something
Well I didnt "like" it either. But why should the navi be fucked without humans? If the humans hadnt entered Pandora, the navi would havehad a quiet and peaceful life. Far away from "fucked". And Jake seems to be one of the few humans with a brain...
People think way to much into this movie!

To all enviromentalists out there,be patient.
My theory?
Humanity is lazy, when enviromental cataclysm hits, humanity will rise up against it and unite.
I think.

The solution to all human problems: Remove the "you"(the thinking mind), and tell us, where is the problem?
Why do you think we can't communicate with "Eywa"(or God, or whatever you call it), we believe ourself to be separate from nature..

Children who never did all that cant grow into adults who really understand nature.

I don´t know much child running after wild bunnies and seeking for foxes or other animals here in Germany =)

I'm from germany, and that's the way me and all my friends grew up.
I dont know where you're from but if you never did those things you must be from a city.
True, the last few years children startet playing more computer games, but that'll stop one day too. Btw, before you ask, im 20 and not at all unusual.

Dude wait for 2012 annunaki will save this planet and kill us ;D And i think It'll be better for everyone. And if Marduk still thinks it was good idea to let us live on this planet there r other races who will take care of that. I mean children of Tiamat.
Michal474747 1 year ago
@6go6th6ic Not all have chosen to destroy our earth but not enough are standing up and willing to fight for it. Humanity is divided over countless issues. If we cant even come together as a race to do something as simple as saveing our mother from death. What hope do we have for peace.

We'll figure it out someday...

haha, thats true. we're learned creatures, so unlike cats or dogs we don't possess that instinct to be able to run away from home for a month and survive. we learn most of our behaviour and our culture has made us learn to cook food that over the years we don't even hunt anymore. i'm sure we could learn to live in environments we're suited for, but it would take a while.

A guy basicaly get adobted by another, uh.."group" of people and is taught their ways, then he falls in love with the daughter of the leader? Who then ends up defeating the "group" from where he had originated. DUH.

i know pandora doesnt exist, but i ttruly beleive this is how men are supposed to be... fierce, wild, and courageous... not like the world is trying to make us right now, they are trying to teach us to be easily manipulated, and scared to search for what is waiting to be unleashed inside our heart.
bleujae1 2 years ago 8
@bleujae1, ähm Sorry Pandora exist! not like the movie, but James C. used the nearest Sunsystem fron the earth as coordinates, it caled "alfa centauri" and the Sun of Pandora is AC 2 ! Pandora is one of the moons! sorry i only want to tell that it be!

Centauri is a system of 3 stars, currently not proven to have any planets orbiting it. Due to the nature of that system it would be difficult for a planet to exist close enough to these stars to support life and have a stable orbit at the same time. Avatar is a good work of fiction. Don't quit school to become a space marine yet.
zenshinify 2 years ago
Gubbins45 2 years ago 2
You forgot to mention Iraq.
mrocean21 2 years ago
Our amazing brains invented guns and other tools that allow us to shape the world around us and also go into space. The same kind of genius invented the computers used to make Avatar and came up with the story for that movie. If you live in America, enjoy the fact that you don't have to worry about being eaten by giant armored dinosaur dogs, or being cold because you were too clumsy to kill that bear and take it's fur. The smart people have your needs covered.

SOLIDKILLER893 2 years ago
you confuse "well animated" with "realistic". it's not realistic. we don't have any spaceships to go to a planet that has not been discovered that have bioluminescent forests and floating mountains. the movie is a nice fantasy at best. btw: what humans tried to do on Pandora is pretty much what Americans did do to American Natives. Except the natives didn't have flying dinosaurs to help them.

True, James Cameron is great. Avatar is definitely my favourite movie, but I do wonder if he was inspired by Pocahontas, consciously or not
happybirthday453 2 years ago
more imspired by last samurai, which btw has 1:1 the same storyline.
darigaaz90 2 years ago
You do know that Pocahontas came out 1 year after the wrote the original scipt back in 1994??? So it's kinda impossible that he rip-offed poca, maybe it's the reverse??? Who knows, ask disney.
metafixi 2 years ago
You're right, he did write it WAYYY before Disney's Pocahontas came out...actually, in History, there NEVER was a love story between Pocahontas and John Smith...SO, in actuality, since Cameron had written Avatar way long before Disney came out w/ theres...I'd have to say Cameron had the first idea... at least thats what I have concluded to after all the research :P
baviperbry86 2 years ago 2
@zenshinify yes is true is fantasy but can humanity develop the technology to put colonies in moon, mars and go to other solar systems yes! but if the earth is destroy by all this pollution, war, global warming, the only way to humans to survive is the space, go to other worlds?
redknight344 2 years ago
It costs more than $100,000 to put 1 kilogram of matter into Earth's orbit. How much do you think it would cost to go to another planet, let alone to send humans who need food, air, and are heavy.
Don't worry about pollution. We only have about 45 years of oil supply left. Then you will need to worry about war, food, electricity, and staying warm. The only way for humans to survive is to use our minds, our senses, think better, and to work productively. Study hard, and make a difference.

This movie sort of does have a theme song. Check out 1:54. This basic melody is in many of the songs, and varies, but it is basically the theme. Not super bold or spectacular, but very fantastic, like Pandora and their culture.
collycutie2 2 years ago 3
It's almost like the theme in AMERICAN GANGSTER, in that it plays throughout the film in different ways.
OhGawDuhhh 2 years ago

SeventhGate008 2 years ago 5
I love the way everything glows... It shows that things can be beautiful.
And the way the Na'vi skin has glowing marks too.
This is random... But are they warrior markings or natural to the skin? Lol.
I really loved this film :)
I agree with Colactic1... the soundtrack is a little boring... But then again, the Na'vi are very gentle and peaceful, like much of the music. The music should fit the surroundings and those who inhabit the surroundings... And it does that perfectly :)

TwilightBabe158 2 years ago 5

the music is the atmosphere, not the "main movie"
the music IS the film, not otherwise

You're entitled to your opinion. I personally think the portrayal of humanity is very bleak, yet a very valid outcome considering our ways. As for your second remakr, without humans they would never have been in the situation in the first place.
The only thing that bugged me about the movie was "Unontainium", simply due to its lack of creativity. Although, it does get the message across :p
And yes, awesome movie.
MyNameIsntJohn 2 years ago

OhGawDuhhh 2 years ago
@Colactic1 uh around the ending of the movie
when the Na'vi send those humans home, u can hear Jack Sully saying "the aliens are returning home to their dying planet" so i guess they came here in the first place to save their planet. i think it is something to do with earth natural resources running low or something
amberzzzzz 2 years ago
We strip mined earth in the future. Jake, at the end of things, saw himself as a Na'vi. That's why he called the humans 'aliens'.
OhGawDuhhh 2 years ago
Well I didnt "like" it either. But why should the navi be fucked without humans? If the humans hadnt entered Pandora, the navi would havehad a quiet and peaceful life. Far away from "fucked". And Jake seems to be one of the few humans with a brain...
