@jakespeed1Word, when the village was actually a cool, interesting, edgy, creative and and Fun all at the same time. Unique's was a place u had to go 2 back then, the old white dude with the Airbrush use to kill it, also Astor place for the haircut and mix tape and Tower records.
As much as I loved the rave scene, The House Movement with always be my true favorite. If you where in Toronto Ont, then you mostly were at 23 hop.......
Yes Zone was the Venues beyond venues, if you didn't go to zone.... you didn't know true house music in Toronto. I'm just waiting for the Post House Reneissance.
Kuota51!!!! I am loving you right now. Every track you post takes us back to a time, a place, a night, a group of friends, a morning. What I'm loving is reading the comments from everyone. I guess we all knew how much fun we were having. We just didn't expect the vibe to end. Anyway, thank you for taking us back!!!!
This track had a lot of influence on my former DJ partner's production style...just listen to this then listen to Luv Dancin by The Underground Solution. Hmmm. Still one of the great house tracks out of the Strictly Rhythm vaults. I don't think Mark and Gladys knew how classic these tracks would go on to be. All the producers who were doing records for them at the time are STILL some of the biggest in house: Louie, Todd, Kenny, Eric, Roger, Armand-even India...so many talented dudes!
@DJMigrane I live in Newark NewJersey and I got the other version on a cd that you're refferring to from a guy downtown who makes Zanzibar/Shelter old school style discs..I love all versions of this song tho!
Wow!!!! this is what it was all about!!!! Music didn't even need words and you can dance to it all night!!!! This just took me back to Red Zone...With Kenny Kenny at the door.
I remember back in1990 my roommate at Benson Hall at Alabama State we called "squirt" was a d.j. and I played this song into the ground..."squirt" was from Chicago and I (known as cool breeze) was from Detroit...
where did it all go wrong back then it was SEX / DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL + PEACE LOVE AND UNITY now its HIV / FRANK / TECNO AND EVERYONE WANT TO STAB EVERYONE .................OLD SKOOL WILL NEVER DIE
i would completely phase into another world when i heard this on The Shelter's sound system! Long live House! Long Live The Shelter! Long Live Timmy Regisford!
I know this track from back in the days... a friend of mine gave it to me on a TEST Press prior its release, he was one of the producers... his name was Eddie Maduro (AKA Satin).. he was also an awsome DJ. I loved it from the beggining because it sounded like a remix of Mr. Fingers Can you feel it.. cheers
Amazing track... :) Glad I've been digging into this Classic stuff since a week or two... Been discovering gems like this one and U.P.I. - That String Track... :D
I am with my brother! A good quality House tune will take me to places that no drug can. Too bad the majority of the planet are sheeple and will listen and like whatever mainstream stations force upon them.
I never thought I would hear this again, I didn't even know the name of it. I danced to it so many times in New York in the early nineties. I think it was at "the loft" down in the lower east side. Man! time has flown!!
I was dancing my socks off in London too!! what a tune...take me back...x I am 35 now but still find the need to go out to listen to tunes like this....
great tune thanx for uploading
