5:10 is probably the most revealing bombshell I've heard on mastering and popular music mixing/production. That its always been like this in terms of maximizing or pushing the db's to the red.
This goes directly against all the talk about how vinyl is so much greater than say CD, if this was done then, then the formats used them suffer from loudness... THEN!
@wendileona Some of the digital look-ahead compression technology that was developed around the turn of the century enabled even MORE - but the limit has been reached. Be sure to look for "the loudness wars" video
