  • Thanks

  • Awesome thank yiu

  • thanks man, being trying to find out how to do that fingerpicking sound for ages (:

  • What is the strumming for the last part after the D chords thing?

  • @whiteskull2112 well i would tell you...but i advice you another method.....shake your hand as d beats pass, even though the notes aren't hit...this will get you in the rhythm of the song...(which is i guess 16th notes 4-4)...........so just close your eyes and lis10 to the part a few times and strum...learn to count the beat....i used to be like that....but once you can bount the beats and rhythm its quite easy......

if you still dont get it tel me...il tel you.....\m/

  • @crusnikgod alright ill try

  • We are beginning work on a guitar lesson DVD in the style of Neal Schon and will be paying cash for the right lessons!!! This will be for advanced players and MUST be DEADLY accurate slow motion note for note playing of the same or better caliber you see in this video so please be sure you are in this league before you step up to the plate. Contact me through my youtube handle tony11122 with a link to a sample of your ability to play like Neal if you think you have the goods!

  • thumbs up for his great lesson!!!

  • I think the chord in this part at 6:30 is x30032. I also think that in the lesson before the am7 part is played with the open g-string and the g on the 1st string.

  • Thanks Justin!

  • @vinnothelizard Eh? What? Please explain.

  • @vinnothelizard fuck you dude

  • There's one but that foxed me for years, hahahahahha

  • dude, the whole thing is in 4/4, just the accents on the drums are on the upbeat of the end of the previous bar, so he never really leaves the tempo, he just accents it weirdly, but if you count it through (which I've done a couple times), it definitely is in 4/4

  • jimmy wrote this to fuck with future guitar players

  • this man is sexy.

  • what the F##K was that at the end

  • MR JUSTINSANDERCOESONGS !

    Y U NO CLOSE-UP THIS PART ?

  • Hi Justin!! I have been revised your entire beginner course, so far = marvelous stuff, dude! I think I can help you with this mysterious chord after "BIG" D major Here's what I'm doing. second finger on3th fret of 5th string, first finger on 2nd fret of 4th string, 3th finger on 3nd fret of 2nd string. Strumm whole shape and from time to time lift yourfirst finger and put on a F# note on a first string. Whole phrase ends with an ordinary G major. iTHINK IS QUITE QOOL SOUNDING. hOPE IT HELPS.

  • no offense dude but if anyone was living next door to jimmy page y would they even watch ur video?? they would just ask jimmy page to teach them the song lol. but great lesson man :)

  • Comment removed

  • here's that funny chord you're looking for: play the C chord then then play the C chord again but move your little finger on the D note on the B string and move your index finger to the F# on the E string :^)

  • what is the "G with a B bass" chord?

  • @5starvidz4u Not bass but "base" :) When you play G chord you just have to add B note instead of G note on one of thicker strings :)

  • thanks for teaching me the song

  • Very Very Very Simple song with you you are one of the best ! Nice cover ;)

  • justin u r the greatest. .

  • Press 4! It's funny :D

  • press 4 and see Justin playing very fast :D

  • the chord youare confused on is Cadd9#11 to Cadd9 to Csus2 to Cadd#9

  • At 2:04 Justin plays two chords but doesn't say what they are. I'm trying to figure it out from his fingering but the camera is too far away. Anyone know what they are?

  • @RizzyRef it goes C then G/B on the climb up then the two chords he strums once are Fmaj7 and Am

  • @RizzyRef Watch it for another ten seconds - he explains what they are :)

  • Justin make my day!

What can I do without you marvelous teaching

  • what it is this chords for 8:04 - 8:06. Do you unterstand me?(I poorly know english)

  • Ha! The ONE bit that always puzzled me too remains elusive. Seriously though dude, great lesson.

  • you saved my life

  • Dude what's up with freeking pasom..hahaha

  • damn this part is hard

  • buena leccion!!! muchas gracias. I don't know much english but sometimes I understand very well, music is a universal language. thanks!!!

  • fuck, I dont understand this part, my english its no good enough, somebody can help me? please, I apreciate it.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH theres a bear.

  • Hey Justin these lessons are awesome. Any chance you can make a video with the song played all the way through to get a feel for your version as a whole? Thanks soo much to teaching us a great song.

  • great lesson and great insights, sir! :) and about that weird 9/8 timing before the beginning of the solo - true perfection has to be imperfect! that was LED ZEPPELIN! :D

  • grazie per le lezioni

    pascam

  • i use a pick for the whole song and my pinky for picking

  • @6Metal6God69 same lol much better haha

  • On that chord on part F the C chord I think actually what he's doing is actually putting on an E on the B string. That's the way I play it and it sounds correct.

  • hey thanks a lot!! helped me out really well :) can u also teach the song called -taurus from spirit?? if yes please do!!!

  • justine vs marty

  • @rollingrustyy Justin is better!

  • 22 people think they are god. : |

  • dude,, I tried a cmaj7 for that one you missed and drops to that G b-bass.

    you rock!

  • you' re the BEST guitar teacher on youtube!!

    thumbs up for Justin!!

    Thank you!!

  • My thought on the confusing chord is to use my pinky on the 3rd fret A, ring on second fret D, and index on 1st fret B, allowing me to keep the C chord and get the F# by using my middle finger.

  • for the confusing chord... wat i think is.. 0 3 2 0 3 0(for Cmaj) shifted to 0 3 0 0 3 2.... kinda sounds purrfect.... cheers if u agree... btw.. u r a gr8 teacher... cheers on that too.... :)

  • ive got this learned--my problem is remembering everything in the right order

  • What is the chord that you are playing that you say is "like C" ?

    great help thankyou !:)

  • THAAAANKS!!!, btw, can I at 2.40 (IN THE LESSON) where you talk about this chord, can I use the G , I think it actually sound pretty good

  • No words. Thanks a lot

  • No word. Thanks a lot

  • From his website, G/B = TAB: x 2 0 0 3 x

  • @squawk7777 thanks :)

  • what is a G with a B bass? o.o

  • Veeeery good. !!!

    Thank You

  • What would I do without you Justin...?! Thanks a lot...

  • Justin... you're a great teacher man... well done! That part that's had you stumped for ages, also had me stumped, but I think I may have it? After the Dsus part, keep your 3rd finger 'anchored' on the D on the 2nd string, and move your 2nd finger to the C on the 5th string and use your 1st finger for the hammer/pulloff F# to E part on the 1st string. I don't know?... you've probably worked it out by now anyway! But that sounds pretty close to me and it's fairly easy way of doing it I find.

  • I like him......your guitar too !!!!!

  • 20 people missed the like button

  • part D is pretty fuckin tough

  • Tabs for G with the B bass? :)

  • Justin thanks for these amazing lessons man :) im going to play this at a concert after tomorrow i give all the credit to you :D

  • the two chords your looking for are Cadd9/#11 and Fmaj7

  • Graaaaaciaaas!!!!!

  • you are a god!

  • Justin, . . don't live next door to Jimmy Page, but I bet he has seen this video--wish he would speak up on some of these details which have also "foxed" me for years, ----, great mixture of knowledge, humor and insight into the learning process which really helps. Thanks

  • Hi Justin, The chord your not sure of is 1st string 2nd frett, 2nd string 3rd frett, 3rd and 4th strings open, 5th string 3rd fret, and 6th string open - not sure what the exact name of the chord is but I believe that is what he plays.

  • it is the c chord with the decond string third fret

  • muy bueenoo , thank you so so so much

  • In concern of the funny part: My tabs (the ones that have a 5000 star rating on ultimate) say, the acoustic plays c add9 (x-3-0-2-3-x), while at the same time the 12 string plays 0-3-5-x-x-x and then 2-3-5-x-x-x, the latter is D7 and has an F#.

  • u r the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey, uhm, i mightve just not listened very well but what chords are used leading up to the solo?

    and great lesson.

  • 2:30 the chord is Fmaj7

by the way you're the man o_o

  • Towards the 7:10 minute mark you are talking about that note that you arent quite sure that he is playing. The method you chose seems to be a bit high pitched. I noticed that holding the c chord and dropping your pinky to the 2nd string third fret for that higher note sounds pretty close. Any opinions?

  • va se ferra ve se n inrola

  • valew Justin !!!!!

  • Justin,

Thanks so much man! I have been learning from many of your videos and am greatly impressed by your style and ability to teach on many levels including pure coolness! Your playing is awesome and to learn from you is immensely appreciated! Maybe one day I will post a video also but it will take some time before I am ready to do so. Blaiser

  • Justin,

Very nice job on your Stairway To Heaven lessons. However, your take on the timing of the transition right before the guitar solo (your lesson 4/6) is wrong. It is straight 4/4/ time. If you count quarter notes starting from that D major before the "funny" timing you mentioned, and don't lose count, you will find that whole section, and the entire song is in 4/4 time. There are No "funny" or "whacky" time signature changes. I am going to upload a video soon to demonstrate.

  • JIMMY PAGE OR SLASH!???

  • Aretha Franklin or Susan Boyle?

  • hmmm thats hard.... i dont know them.

  • J P !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @guitar0124 Slash is more iconic, but jimmy page is better- just my opinion :)

  • for adding the F# you could use your 4th finger on the 3rd fret of the 5th string, 3rd finger on the 2nd fret of the 4th string,1st finger on the 1st fret of the 2nd string, then use your 2nd finger to add the F#. its kinda awk. but it works. anyway thanks for the video it helped so much. =D

  • Thanks!

  • grasias a xvr

  • Thanks!

  • I must say that i am more than impressed by your abilities as a musician and a teacher - i've been playing the guitar for about 3 months, and i've nearly learned the entire song by heart thanks to your lessons. Greetings from Denmark :)

PS: I worship Led Zeppelin :D

  • THANKS !!!!!

    THANKS very much!

your lessons for this song is very good!

  • lmao justin what are u saying from 6:40 - 6:50??

    :)

  • lol ask jimmy page hahahaha

  • if i lived next door to jimmy page i would be askin him for a lesson!

  • What is the strumming pattern for that C and other chord part?

  • A little tip about the 12-string lick, its actually surprisingly easy to do on a 6-string, if you're comfortable with power chords. Since (most of the time) the low 8 strings on a 12-string are tuned an octave apart, your just cutting the 5th out of your power chord. You can either mute it with your second finger, or pick the octave with a free finger(conveniently shown in this video, actually, lol).

Try it out, it actually sounds really nice when you get the timing smooth. Have fun! ^^

  • thx a lot !

  • what was the guitar model he said? Gibson something?

  • whats wit the badger every video Justin?

  • It's a Tasmanien Devil.

  • GUITAR GOD

  • Thank you! You`ve helped me out in a few thight spots in the song. Oh... and you are a great teacher too :). Keep up the good work ( thumbs up )

  • are you a guitar teacher? because you really good at teaching this stuff...

  • Fantastic series Justin, I learned the whole song with no problems at all thanks to your amazing videos, and it was like listening to an old friend. Your teaching style is just outstanding ;-)

  • Thanks This Is The Best Tutorial For Stairway To Heaven, I m Subscribing, 5 stars

  • anyone get the strumming at 6:58 ?

  • if i were playing it on a electric guitar, what pickups do i use and what effects?

    please someone help me.

great vid lesson by the way

  • i just use any electric guitar with my amp on clean mode

  • I use the clean channel on the brige pickup.

To me it sounds the most, err, how should i say..

it sounds the most acoustic-like out of all of them. haha.

  • at 7:10 can someone tab that out for me cause i keep doing it wrong and i cant figure it out even though hes saying how to do it... the fingering is just throwing me off please help

  • does anyone know how the tab of a G with a B-base note goes? can´t figure it out...after the C and the E0 A0 D2 g0 b1 e2- chord strumming part

    it´s at around 8:05 :)

  • its the same chord as the one that is raked right before the chord strumming part kicks in.

  • thanks :)

  • he's right about the Fmaj9 chord before the Am, but i'm pretty sure jimmy plays the full chord instead of the four highest strings.

    from lowest to highest:

    1

    3

    3

    2

    1

    0

its pretty effin hard with small hands, cuz you gotta wrap your hand around the neck to thumb the F on the 6th string. but you get quite a cool sound if you can pull off the chord change.

  • i dont have electric guitar but i have acustic and u helped me a lot! so thanks man! =)

  • It will feel off at first but once you understand it hits you like a brick!

THANKS FOR ALL YOU HELP ON STAIRWAY!!!!

  • I can totally tell you how each measure at the bridge goes!

I'm starting at the beginning of the measure when the last whole note D chord is played and Robert Plant is all "ooohhhhohhooooh"!

4/4 (Don't repeat this one, it's just to get started on a "stable" measure)

    4/4 then 7/8 then 9/8 then 4/4 (2 times)

    Solo!

It really helps if you count all of it in eighth notes and start on the last measure before the bridge.

  • Well it took months of practice but I finally have this whole damn song down! All thanks to you Justin...

  • I got my guitar not log ago, never played before, you make it learn so fast and so easy, my friends are very impressed of my progress. you are a good teacher. Thank's BRAVO!

  • wonderful teaching and nice mac in the back :)

  • wow!! you truly are as good as it gets! you epitomise how a teacher should be!! i'm not just talking about guitar, you could teach anything and anybody could learn so fast from you,it takes a bit of talent and a lot of practise to learn guitar, but to teach it as well as you do is a much rarer talent!! there isn't anybody on youtube that i've seen who's as good as you!! i hope your skills aren't limited to youtube,

    much respect to you!!.

  • hi guys i just wonder does he teach the whole music (ordinary guitar and electronic guitar) or just ordinary guitar?????????? plz replay

  • He teaches both

  • noshor use the terms acoustic and electric instead, basically u can play both there's no difference in playing or theory.. only u can get really fast on an electric .. i believe they call it shredding and sweeping :)

  • what is the strumming pattern you use for funny cords? Im having a hard time getting it right

  • LOL at 6:18 great teaching

  • lol at 0:46!!
