i think its the ending that gets me, the simple good night, as i kid loads of fountain pen ink was sprayed up the walls at home as i air drummed pretending to be mel gaynor and my drum kit still lives in my shed to this day, and you cannot beat playing along to this, this live version is faultless to me

This gig was recorded and there is obviously a live vid of them doing this as i have seen it years ago, but wouldnt know where to get a hold of it.Someone probably recorded it on vid when it was shown on t.v. so there will be one kicking around somewhere.

This song and album still gives me the chills hearing it over two decades later. There is a few things I regret during my life, Missing this concert and missing Depeche Mode Live in Rosebowl Pasadena 1988 are two of them. Listening to this double album in the minivan with maxvolume can repair it briefly. Thank you, Simple Minds, for all the good music.

I saw them in '87 on this tour at Milton Keynes. Still ranks as the best concert ever. This track is probably the best live re-imagining... and such a fantastic lead in from "Dance to the Music". I remember everyone going nuts after that pumping high and then "what's this?... OMFG!!!" NGD like you've never heard it before. Such an emotional ending. Wish this were available on DVD.

I am not sure a reworking of a song could ever beat the original. I mean, NGD inspired a whole era of pill popping trance heads in the 90's and yet this version if it is at all possible is filled with as much if not more than the original- and its live- just listen to the sound- OUTSTANDING. Some say SM never got the credit they deserve- I think they get the credit through those listening to the music being so bloody in tune with it- UNREAL.
