That's funny. i was just talking to my cats about them and their animal rights. The discussion went absolutely nowhere because cats don't even have self-awareness and they don't have the mental processes of thought. They aren't sentient either. the cats just looked at me like I was stupid and meowed. "Do you know I'm a cat, stupid.'" There is no such thing as "animal rights." The only "rights" an animal has is the ones we give them. Animals don't understand rights. Ever heard of animal welfare?

@gongoozler18 wow, and did you know that our pet cats used to be wild like tigers and lions but we domisticated them into household pets just like dogs? animal rights are for them to be free or for at least the owner to love and take very good care of it. there is such a thing of animal rights because animals are not meant to be in cages, or be abused or neglected, and not meant to be slaughtered horribly for their meat or fur.

Rights is a legal term intended for only people. A right is inherent, Do animals have the right to enter into a contract? Can an animal own property? Can one initiate a lawsuit? DO animals have the rights of due process and equal protection of the laws? Do animals have rights to the opportunities of an education and work?

It dosn't mater what u belive in-God, science, whatever. ALL livng things are here on earth, & jst bc we have self-awerness & have created laws & welfare, it dosn't mean were BETTER than anyother livng creature. yes, we can think, & yes that gives us a tremendous advantage, but why be the bad guy in all of creation and hurt the "weaker" ones?

Thanks to Wilber and Eric for supporting animal rights! Tar Cat was an abandoned kitty and I was lucky enough to take him in before he was sent to animal control. I'm so thankful because he's been the best kitty. MEOW!

Wilber, Yes. Anyone who cares for Wilver should take every opportunity to speak up for and support animal rights. Prevent cruelity, give a helping hand to an animal in need, be kind to every animal you meet.

Wilber's episodes will return, we really miss him. Keep him well by doing something special today and every day for an animal. Adopt pets from humane societies or shelters. Spay/neuter your animal and encourage others also.
