Let me straighten this out. Z71 is just a suspension package comparable to ford's FX2. You have to get the truck in four wheel drive version for Chevy. Not untill you get both z71 and 4 wheel drive can you compete with FX4 on Ford. The ZR2 was the offroad package available on s10's only which they don't make anymore. Even the colorado's had z71 available. Pull competitions are based off driver skill. Any vehicle is based off tht and how much money you put into it. Personal preference...

So stop saying, which truck is better and look at which DRIVER is better.
I don't understand all this talk about the HUGE weight difference and V10s and diesels. The Ford is an F-150, meaning it didn't come with a V10 or diesel. It either has a 4.6 or a 5.4, most likely a 5.4 because they almost all had them.

@chrisao1987 Theres always a couple mess ups from the factory like that, not just with Chevy. So you cant really count that because normally theyre great trucks. I have a friend with a 1996 F250 with a 460 and the motor starting knocking bad, and he takes good care of it. Shit happens

Let me straighten this out. Z71 is just a suspension package comparable to ford's FX2. You have to get the truck in four wheel drive version for Chevy. Not untill you get both z71 and 4 wheel drive can you compete with FX4 on Ford. The ZR2 was the offroad package available on s10's only which they don't make anymore. Even the colorado's had z71 available. Pull competitions are based off driver skill. Any vehicle is based off tht and how much money you put into it. Personal preference...

@thenixter97 Actually yes i have seen a two wheel drive z71. My next door neighbor/friend owns one. I know also because im training to become a GM technician. There is a program right across from the building is study in at my college, which is a community college. I have nothing against ford, i just hate people saying who has the better truck. It's all on the driver and personal preferance. Actually they have two 2-wheel drive z71's. One is a silverado and the other a colorado.

Z71 is just a suspension option, doesn't mean it's automatically a four wheel drive. A tow-off is always about technique not which vehicle is better. Those trucks should be equally matched. As you can see the ford held the brakes till the chevy spun it's tire then hit the gas to pull it back. Tht's how it looks like the chevy sucks. Tires also have a big effect in the outcome. So stop saying, which truck is better and look at which DRIVER is better.

I don't understand all this talk about the HUGE weight difference and V10s and diesels. The Ford is an F-150, meaning it didn't come with a V10 or diesel. It either has a 4.6 or a 5.4, most likely a 5.4 because they almost all had them.
