Its always "BETTER" to build your "own" gaming pc...always better and its cheaper at the same time I just love it...I have an 8 gig 3.4ghz Quad-Core gaming pc with a HD 6890...that I will be building in the future its a low budget pc but for the price and the specs its going to ROCK!!!

I have an i3 laptop and wow runs smooth as hell on it...pretty amazing if you ask me...I can imagine the smoothness of this one!

Hey so I have this set up in mind it's very similar to yours:

-gtx 570 1gb (not sure which type like Asia msi or gigabyte)

-intel i7 2600k 3.4ghz (turbo 3.8)

-8gb ddr3 1600mhz (2•4gb)

-1TB hdd sataIII 6gb/s

-(need advice on a motherboard for this)

-(need help with a CPU cooler too)

Hey, i'm going to get this Exact Setup, Same MOBO, And GPU, however im getting a i5 2500k and OCing to 4.5, but with 8gb Ram 1600 (not sure if that will be a big difference)

My questions to you are

1) Do you think that my game will play like this? (i have a Planar 120hz monitor)

2) Do you have any type of SSD or something, and if not which HDD(s) do you have?

3) Which Gtx 570 do you have ASUS, EVGA or MSI?

4) and which power supply do you have?

@Exitwoundsz yes it will be like this perfomance video, crucial m4 128gb ssd (definitly faster loadingscreens), hdd Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HD103SJ for other games, GPU ASUS GTX 570 Direct CUII. Power Supply 580W be quiet! Straight Power CM BQT E8 80+ Silber Modular. Between 1600 and 1333 Ram you wont feel anything. Hope you play other games too like BF3 or.. only for Warcraft it would be overkill. Your system will be a beast ;)

And wow such a small power supply xD have are you not gonna over clock your i7 at all, or did u just not want to mention it in the video?

@Exitwoundsz SSD aren't nescessary for games, on my SSD is only Win7 for faster booting. 580W are enough ;) i dont have much expierence in overclocking but i had it once at 4,5ghz for render via sony vegas. youre welcome i hope you could understand my english ^^

Will a 60GB SSD be enough for win 7 faster boot and loading?

@Exitwoundsz yes for win7 it will be enough. Just put your games on hdd and you have a perfect setup have fun.

@struggle375 just check gpu usage in this video, you will see warcraft isn't able to use the full potential except in 5 man Dungeons..(25 Dungeons 35 - 60%) so.. gtx 570 only for wow would be overkill

I have a amd x4 940 and a ati 6870. I have to admit the fps you get makes me feel like a have a very low end system compared to yours. My friend has this cpu and with same gpu as me and so many games were he is getting a good 50+ extra fps and feel more stable.

@Klinikal773 They aren't down. No Reason to set shadow quality low. As you can see the graphic card is running with 50% Usage ...

should i get the GTX 570 or the ATI 6970? sometimes i see the 570 outperform the 6970 and vice versa

i faced exactly the same question, then i got the gtx 570 and i don't regret it. If you like to play with Physx and have nicer tesselation take the gtx 570. if you like to play with mods something that needs massive memory like battlefield 3, Gta 4 take the hd 6970. Performace is almost the same. Or wait for January/feb. for the neweset generation HD7000 serie and GTX 600 serie.

@Drake2711 haha it defo will. i upgraded to an i5 2500k and i get 60fps in org with a GTS 450 (shadows on high - rest on ultra)

do you think the GTX 570 will be able to handle 1920x1080p without dipping below 55-60 ish?

@struggle375 it all depends in which area you are and how many people are around you. Your i5 2500k is in Warcraft similar with my i7 2600k (because warcraft doesnt support hyper threading)

Such a highend system, yet the FPS drops down to as low as 30 in highly populated areas. I thought that with such a highend graphics cards & processor u'd get at least 60+ fps in org if not more.

Am I missing something or is it just the way WoW was developed?

@mangowarrior The I7 2600k alrdy got the highest FPS rates atm on World of Warcraft maybe if you would Overclock the CPU to like 4,6 GHz u would get over 50

lol you can still run WoW at Ultra with a gtx 260, a gtx 570 is for another Dimension of Games (like Metro 2033)

There is NO reason to buy an older generation when there is already a better one almost the same price see GTX 560 Ti

People getting ready for battlefield or something else like a friend. I know we can't compare wow and battlefield 3 but he was also interested in wow performance because AMD doesn't scale as good nvidia does. Can you play wow in 3D with GTX 260? i dont think so
